100 Sails Restaurant & Bar Honolulu Reviews from The Last Year
Wouldn’t go back
This restaurant presents more of a cafe than restaurant. Poor service cold atmosphere and undesirable food. Very disappointing.
Came here to celebrate our good friend's Birthday.
Service was amazing! We had a party of 15. Food selections were great for adults, kids not at all unless your babies have good palettes haha my 6yr old just had rice & fruits. Crab legs were a bit small, I swear our friends went back for more at least 10x just to get their fill! We came here a few years ago during brunch for a Christmas party & I remember the menu then was quite better than our dinner party. Desserts were delicious!
Wonderful Brunch for my husband's birthday.
We had a wonderful view of the ships and enjoyed our celebration with fresh, beautifully prepared dishes. The salads had a variety of choices to add. There was crab and other seafood along with a meat carving station. We thoroughly enjoyed the different desserts offered too. Adding to this delightful brunch was the wonderful service. Our waitress with endless energy managed to remove our used dishes and replace all of our utensils, in the short time we returned to the brunch area, multiple times. It was a memorable experience to celebrate a special occasion.
My friend, Donna O.
, suggested we dine at 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar for their breakfast buffet. I'd been before with my college friend but didn't remember much, so was looking forward to re-trying their buffet! My friend, Dad, and I came to the restaurant in the morning on a weekday. Their breakfast buffet ran from 6:30-10 a.m. when we went, though hours differ depending on the day. The ambiance is peaceful, open and spacious, and resembles other buffets located inside of a hotel. The view was wonderful overlooking the harbor. Service was full of aloha spirit, friendly, helpful, and always looking out for us! The breakfast buffet was fantastic as it offered traditional American, Japanese, and local fare. Perfect way to taste new foods or enjoy familiarity. It's easy to navigate the buffet area and serving dishes are a plenty. I took advantage of the various offerings, especially the meats and omelet station! I would say we all enjoyed our meal but something's stood out more than others. I do wish some foods I had were more flavorful. Buffets aren't hard to find on Oahu, 100 Sails is one of them that is a popular choice for locals and tourists. Located inside of the Prince Waikiki, parking is validated for 2.5 hours for their garage. Mahalo for taking us Donna!
Came here for Mother's Day and Graduation weekend so
Came here for Mother's Day and Graduation weekend so everyone was beautifully dressed with leis. We have booked this place since March knowing it'll be a busy weekend. Staff confirmed our booking thrice since then. This resto is located in posh Prince Hotel. There is a section overlooking the waters but we were seated inside, two long tables almost private. Food is excellent, selections plenty. Crab legs, hand rolled sushi, rack of lamb, beef prime rib, rolled pork belly, fried oysters, sashimi, poke and the list goes on. I'm very impressed. It was worth the $105/pax + tax + 18% service charge. So overwhelmingly good that i forgot to take pictures!
Amazing spread!! The food are delicious!!! Sooooo yummy!!!!
Amazing spread!! The food are delicious!!! Sooooo yummy!!!! The place is just so beautiful. And I haven't even mention the service you get from the people that work there!!! All around great place.
I love the Prince Hotel.
It's been a while since we last ate at 100 Sails so we decided to come by. The food was delicious and they had a large selection, but I do admit the Buffet at the Hyatt is giving them a run for their money. My favorites: Their steamed snow crab legs were fresh and sweet! It was always generously stocked. The sashimi was also super fresh and melts in your mouth. They use only quality cuts. The prime rib was tender and full of flavor. The other entrees (salt pepper shrimp, fried oysters, salmon + more) in my opinion were just okay. I enjoyed the fresh fruit and desserts more. I suggest eating an early Friday dinner and head up to the pool deck to relax and watch the fireworks at 745.
We have not been back to this location since it was called
We have not been back to this location since it was called Price Court. I guess we expected it to be just as good but we were very disappointed in the food. We went to the breakfast buffet at 32.00 and Everything we ate was just "ok". We can't say anything was worthy of going back for seconds. The miso soup was barely warm, the fried rice was so so dry it was not edible. The best thing that I ate was the omelette and guava juice. I wish I could give them a better review but we were sad we chose 100 sails to celebrate early Mother's Day.

Absolutely enjoyed the buffet! All the food were delicious.
I enjoyed the hand roll the most, it was so fresh. The crabs were a bit hard to open.
When looking for the quintessential brunch buffet, 100
When looking for the quintessential brunch buffet, 100 sails (located in the Prince Waikiki hotel) frequently comes up. With nice harbor views, the brunch buffet experience offered by 100 sails hits all the right notes. The buffet itself is split into 3 general areas, consisting of a main area with entrees, steamed crab legs, desserts/pastries, and a carving station, while the other two areas consist of a waffle station and a sushi/handroll station. The standout food options here include the rib-eye, the steamed crab legs, and the fresh poke options, which rival that of many other poke spots on the island. The waffle station was unmanned, but I was pleasantly surprised to find some vanilla ice cream in the same area. Finally, the handroll station offered many options, of which my favorite had to be the classic salmon. The dining area is quite large, and though reservations are recommended, walk-ins would probably be just as feasible.
Been here a few times.
One of a few buffets we have here on this island. Visited here for a birthday gathering, time limit was 2hrs for our party. The usual for a buffet dinner. It was busy during our reservation time which was 5:20pm. Just about dinner time. Like usual, I always have a bit of everything. Most favorite part is the freshly made hand rolls. Always the best! Prime rib and crab legs are always a must. Also has to have drink to celebrate our birthday celebrant of course! The staff were nice and attentive. The food kept running out but they come out quick to replace. I was sad that they didn't have too much options on dessert. I'm not a big fan of bread pudding but my husband definitely loved it!

Full disclosure: I've dined here a lot of times, and the buffet offerings change up every year mostly in good ways, so overall I still love it, and it remains one of our family's favorite go-to splurge buffet celebration dinners. We recently ate there and continued to have a wonderful time. Sorry no pics, too busy stuffing our faces. My usual 1st course ate the crab legs. Tonight they were snow crabs, which is the more common type. For sure I prefer the Alaskan king crab, so if that's the fare for your night, major score for you! More often than not, the snow crabs are fresh, succulent, easy to crack and pull out an intact leg of meat (sounds like a horror movie as I actually put it to words). Tonight they were...not quite consistently up to par. Probably batch dependent, but not as "fresh" as in the past there. Sushi hand rolls, sashimi, poke & maki rolls all standard, all excellent. It's easy to take these for granted, but the quality is as high as they come anywhere. I personally love their clam chowder. It's also a staple. I must've missed clam chowder because I actually had 2 servings. Having grown up on the East Coast & later living in Boston for 10 years, I'm pretty much a chowder snob, and 100 Sails delivers on clam chowder! My wife, son & mother-in-law love oysters, and they couldn't get enough of the fried oysters. Light, savory, not oily. I swear, they were toasting with them (I posted a reel on Instagram). One new hot dish was the scallops w/ bread fruit. It's smothered in a green sauce-like mixture, which I'm guessing is supposed to be like squid luau (a local favorite for all you tourists), and my daughter and wife loved it! I'll be honest, I was going to pass on it if it weren't for my daughter's urging to try it, and indeed it was pleasantly very good, even the bread fruit which I'm not a particular fan of. But it was good! ah, what else? there's SO MUCH. 2 different shrimp offerings: cocktail on ice & salt 'n pepper. I went with the latter this time. Both are same type of shrimp, large, meaty, plump! I loved the salt 'n pepper, must've had close to 10. Fresh fruit, salad, blah blah blah. But my favorite fruit where they plate out peeled oranges in whole sections wasn't there to my disappointment. That's actually one I look forward to here. Also don't forget the carving station! I often skip the rib roast because 1) it's a major filler, and 2) I'm jaded - but when I saw it this time so pink in the middle and beautifully crusted, I couldn't resist. and it was worth it. As for the pork roast, my stomach usually revolts despite what my head wants, so I had to pass. I'm sure it's as great as it looked, if you're a fan. There are several other hot food items, but I ran out of space. But just enough for 1 dessert: I always leave room, aka force myself to have my favorite bread pudding with sauce - it never disappoints! But then I also saw a new lilikoi panacatta(?) topped with some popping jellies, and it was the surprise hit of the night!! So I had 2 desserts. I really hope this stays as a "permanent" selection. Last but not least, the service is always top notch! They work super hard and with a smile, always making sure you're having a great time. With the renovated seating several years ago, it never gets too crowded even when all the tables are full, so you never have to wait forever to get what you want. But for sure you gotta make reservations. (A number of hotel guests actually were turned away because they didn't!) Validated parking rates were raised, but comes with the times. Self-parking isn't too bad, or maybe I just got lucky. That's all - if you're reading this, I congratulate you for reading this novel! Oh, almost forgot: For those with serious food allergies, you couldn't ask for a better experience! not only are foods labeled for allergens, but the chef will take you on a "tour" of all the selections. My super nut-allergic son who unfortunately ends up in the ER way too often has never had any reactions here for what that's worth, which for us is everything! and he can have all but a few of the selections including much of the desserts. (one time in the past the chef without any prompting made him a special poke to ensure no cross-contamination with kukui nut - didn't this time but that was ok because my son had his fill with a gazillion fried oysters.)
Showed up to no one at the hostess desk.
Waiting for so long so I walked away for once second. I saw the hostess come so I started to walk towards her and as soon as she saw me she walked away. Wow, they really don't want us costumers to bother them. We eventually left. We obviously did not feel wanted or welcomed here

During our stay, we opted for the dinner buffet at 100 Sails. My highlights were the crab legs, porchetta, prime rib, cocktail shrimp, fish, sashimi, and clam chowder soup! I was not expecting a "citrus flavor" in a chocolate macadamia nut pie & my friend mentioned it didn't before. We both would've preferred it without the citrus flavor. The service was excellent and overall we enjoyed the buffet here.
Too expensive for such a poor variety of food! The station
Too expensive for such a poor variety of food! The station setup for the Sunday brunch was a little too spread out snd the selection for breakfast items was very limited!
Been here a few times for the buffet before but never left
Been here a few times for the buffet before but never left a review for the Buffet Dinner Menu yet. In general, this place is probably the best dinner buffet in Hawaii. That being said, it doesn't compare to fabulous Las Vegas buffets like the Bacchanal or Wynn. I'm going to temper my review as a buffet grade review because buffets in general are not going to be better than fine dining restaurants although the food here will make most people happy and satisfied. The sashimi and poke are pretty good. The prime rib and porchetta are ok depending on what cut you get. Snow crab is ok but not hot. There is a sushi station that makes hand rolls (temaki). Wish the nori (seaweed) wraps were a bit crispier but at least they weren't soggy. Most desserts were pretty good. The bread pudding is great and so is the chocolate macadamia nut pie. No ice cream or soft serve though. They have a decent wine selection. We had a glass of Merlot and Pinot Noir. They were promoting some specialty wines but we passed on those. The service we received was excellent. Front desk host was friendly and attentive. Our server was very attentive. They provided the crab utensils for cracking and cutting on your table with a plate for discarded shells. The views of the boat harbor and sunset were great. They validated nicely for 2-1/2 hours of parking. Nothing really to complain about 100 Sails buffet except that the $135 per person buffet price could take the wind out your sails. We enjoyed it here and will probably come back.
Best all-you-can eat prime rib and seafood buffet in
Best all-you-can eat prime rib and seafood buffet in Hawai'i! The temaki station speaks for itself (always good!), but the variety of salads, poke, hot food items i.e. fried options, and desserts is a step above the rest. I went straight for temaki and then the steamed snow crab legs because I wasn't fooling around. The crab was soft and perfectly seasoned; not salty or bland. They also offered king salmon & ahi sashimi, along with two different types of poke and futomaki. The hot food section was packed with goodness, but because I was saving my appetite for crab, the only thing I tried was a scallop and caramelized 'ulu lū'au stew. Yep, you read that right....buggah was choice! Also on the hot line was chicken masala, salt & pepper shrimp, ika karaage, and fried oysters. The clam chowder rounded out the hot section and I wish I went back for a second serving. Prime rib & porchetta were also offered but this was not an occasion for protein lol. The salads were nice, desserts were tasty, and service was above and beyond. Definitely celebrating the next special occasion here!
This place was certainly a highlight of our trip to Oahu.
Located at the Prince Waikiki Hotel, it definitely is a place for a nice night out or to enjoy their delicious brunch buffet. We went for both and we were not disappointed. The brunch buffet had everything you could want from the island. From prime rib to fresh seafoods, poke, sushi hand roll station, breakfast foods and fresh fruits. Then for dinner you can order some creative upscale dishes that are delicious in their own right. If you have a chance to go and don't mind paying a little extra, trust me when I say this place does not disappoint one bit!
My husband and I just had a phenomenal dinner .
Originally we had thought we were booked for the seafood buffet/ but the restaurant called the night before to inform us that the buffet was only Thursday- Sunday. We decided to go anyway and give the Ala Carte dinner menu a try . Just fantastic. We shared a Caesar salad and clam chowder for starters . Both were excellent. We decided to order the Bone-in short ribs . So delicious honesty the best short ribs we have ever had . The short ribs came with mashed potatoes. We also had cocktails / a lemon drop and cranberry vodka . Our server was John and he was super friendly and helpful. My birthday is very soon and he brought me a birthday dessert to enjoy . If I could give this restaurant and the food a "10" I would . Highly recommend.
Good food and very good customer service.
Beautiful view. I totally recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful Seafood Buffet
I was very impressed with the food options and price point for the seafood buffet. I loved all the fresh choices for sushi, poke and snow crab legs. The crispy pork belly was sumptuous and the hand roles were perfectly prepared. Service was spot on.
Tasty, good value Happy Hour in a sophisticated setting
Their Golden Hour offered 5 PM to 6:30 in the spacious elegant bar live music some days. Two nights we enjoyed tater tots @7, smoked Ahi dip @10, Kula Caesar Salt @ 10 and Chicken Karaage @ 7. Large servings, enough for a full meal. House draft beer @ 8 and tried their featured pineapple cocktail, expecting a tall glass, but only a cocktail. Best to check. Quite satisfying and excellent value. Friendly staff. Pleasant atmosphere.
A beautiful venue with great service, but struggled with the menu
This restaurant is pleasantly appointed and provided us with top notch service . Our server was truly a joy and we really enjoyed him. We were seated promptly on a Tuesday evening at around 6:00 p.m. Great seats with a beautiful view of the harbor filled with boats at sunset. The food presentation was beautiful and quality of the food was outstanding. Unfortunately, the tables by the windows are freezing and all of the people in our foursome were cold. Here’s the rub, which caused us to not be 100% on the restaurant; the menu. We really struggled with it and I really like fish. The chef would argue that the special of the night was the swordfish, but the server advised that “you better really like seaweed.” I can’t think of anything I would want less. Please, give us some options! We settled on the tater tots, beef skewers and chicken skewers off the appetizer menu which were great as was the dessert menu. We were unable to find a main entree that was vegetables, beef, chicken, pork that was heavily seasoned or sauces we didn’t understand. I mean, at $100 or so a person with drinks, it’s a little risky. The world has gone to the foodies and we get that, but we are from the Midwestern United States and we’re really looking forward to a local fish choices with rice, potatoes, vegetables, I mean, c’mon brother give me a choice, I’m not an anteater. I’m sure when the great chefs of the world read reviews like this, they say there’s always Denny’s, but we traveled along the coasts of Europe and really got along great with all the different fishes plus local favorites including pastas, rice, vegetables, noki, and others. We loved your place, but ya gotta dumb it down a little for us regular travelers.
Very goof hotel restaurant
Very good restaurant in the Prince Hotel. Our waiter was excellent. I had wonderful oysters for an appetizer and they were huge. My main course was the duck which was delicious. Since we were staying at the Prince, we also had breakfast there three times. I had the buffet once and it was just ok but overall this is a very nice spot
Staff and Food Incredible
Went to 100 Sails because of convenience, plus a last minute change and the employees were able to squeeze us in even though it was a last minute reservation for 6 people. The food was awesome, service was great and atmosphere was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend 100 Sails to enjoy a great meal and wonderful atmosphere.
Mediocre
The food is excellent, but the service sucks. The waiter has a bad attitude. It was very busy. Someone spilled sauces on the floor and no one clean it up the whole time I was there.
Delicious Dinner
Food was so delicious. So many options and service provided was excellent. A little bit pricy but totally worth it.
Not worth it
100 Sails is quite pricy, and unfortunately doesn’t make up for it with the food. The restaurant itself is nothing special, unless you’re lucky enough to get a table by the windows. We tried both the dinner and breakfast buffet. The dinner buffet was mediocre in both selection and quality, and was not worth it at $85 + gratuity. The breakfast buffet was had a much better spread, and was also priced more fairly, at $32 per person. Still, the room service menu was far better & cheaper. Overall, I would recommend straying away from this restaurant.
Delicious buffet breakfast
We had complimentary buffet breakfasts for 10 days at 100 Sails as part of our Prince Waikiki Oceanfront Club room privileges and it was a phenomenal perk. The spread is wonderful and perhaps the best we’ve seen. Being Asian-minded, it was nice to be offered a culinary mix of not only Asian foods but also North American fare. There is a delicious variety for those health-conscious, famished or picky toddlers. Staff were very friendly and hardworking. We enjoyed the view of the marina and daily rainbows.
