Enjoy a meal at this wonderful place!
My wife had heard that Angelina is THE place for hot chocolate. We had just finished touring one of the museums nearby so we walked over to Angelina for some food (and hot chocolate). The line was long but it moved pretty quickly. And it was well worth the wait. The interior is gorgeous. The staff is wonderful. And the food is AMAZING! My wife had a croissant sandwich with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. I had their croque madame. Wow! And I think you can guess what my wife would say about the hot chocolate. Haha! Eat at Angelina. It’s spectacular. Enjoy!
Be the first to ReplyThe place used to be great but ruined by hype
I first came to Angelina many years ago and have been wanting to repeat the experience. While back then it was amazing, my experience today turned out quite mediocre. The quality of the desserts (I took millefeuille, like at my first time) is very mediocre now. Definitely not worth the wait. The cookie I got at a random cookie store was way more delicious (and twice as cheap). Also I don’t understand how ordinary tea can cost 8 euros.
Be the first to ReplyChocolat Chaud! Best ever!
The hot chocolate has a flavor that is rich and none like I’ve ever had before. The food is great but go for the hot chocolate.
Be the first to ReplyA bit overrated
Beautiful location and good service. The hot chocolate is too decadent. Recommend getting only one cup and sharing. Sickly feeling after two sips.
Be the first to ReplyMust try!
Unable to get a table as the queue was too big but there was no queue for takeaway. The hot chocolate is a must try! The cakes are also beautiful, not too sickly but very filling. We went and sat in the grounds opposite and enjoyed them. Would recommend a visit
Be the first to ReplySlightly overrated
Service: The line was very long, about 25 minutes. We were seated on the 2nd floor, which is not the preferable area and was quite stuffy. The waiters and the hosts were nice and helpful. We were provided with the menu and served our choices shortly after ordering. Keep in mind that groups of 3 and more will be seated quicker, a few groups behind us in line were seated before us due to the availability of the larger tables. Food: We just came in for drinks and desserts. For drinks we ordered a vanilla milkshake, which was very sweet but delicious, and tea, which was just plain regular tea. For dessert we ordered Nuage Miel dragée and Finger noisette (pictures and their menu descriptions attached below). The Finger noisette was delicious and looked very pleasant. The Nuage Miel dragée, while beautiful, was not very pleasant to eat. The white outer shell was sweet and tender, but the inside jelly-like part contained chestnut, which added a very bitter aftertaste. I couldn’t finish the Nuage and felt a little sick after it. Ambience: While there is nothing to complain about, there is also no unusual things I’d like to mention. It is a regular tea/dessert place with a cute pastry bakery shop on the first floor. There was nothing exceptional about the decor or the vibe. It was pleasant. Overall: Food 7/10 Service 10/10 The wait 5/10 Ambience 8/10 I think there are many more places with good desserts that are worth visiting. Angelina might be slightly overrated.
Be the first to ReplyWorth the queue ?!
Decided not to queue as it was long! We got a takeaway cake and hot chocolate I can understand why they say it’s a luxurious, hot chocolate , but it was more like chocolate sauce
Be the first to ReplyBest hot chocolate!
The hot chocolate is 10/10, there is nothing like it! The server was also very nice and accommodating, very friendly despite how busy the restaurant got. The pastries, the eggs, the breakfast are super good! Angelina is a must when visiting Paris.
Be the first to ReplyWhat happened to reservations?
I understood from someone who is there a little over a year ago that they were able to make reservations. How come no longer?
Be the first to ReplyA very special Cafe in Paris
This place is great for a casual lunch or afternoon tea. This tends to be crowded and with long queue of line but it actually goes fast. Once seated, the service is very fast and efficient. I did not know what to order but the server recommended their popular dishes and pastries. All I could remember is that everything was very good there. Just go and try if you had the chance. There is a reason why it is almost an iconic place to go.
Be the first to ReplyAwful Experience
Awful experience! Waited over an hour to be seated, then waited 20min for the waiter to show up. Then they tell us the kitchen has just closed, we ordered deserts. 10min later was told the deserts we ordered are no longer available. We stood up and left. What a joke. Much better places in Paris. The "Happy Cafe" a block down is 10x better without all the nonsense
Be the first to ReplyDelightful experience
After our louvre adventure, we headed to Angelina for a meal, which has a long line, and waited for 45 mins. But it was all worth it.😉 The Chablis was great, had onion soup, lobster roll to name a few.
Be the first to ReplyThe Hot Chocolate alone is worth a visit!
I read about Angelina’s hot chocolate and we stopped in while visiting Paris. There was a line to dine inside, so we just got hot chocolate and pastries from the cafe/bakery. The hot chocolate is amazing and looks like pure melted chocolate. Pastries we tried were delicious, too. We bought the bottled version of hot chocolate you can warm up on the stove and can’t wait to try it and see how it compares.
Be the first to ReplyParis’s best tea and chocolates.
This was our third visit to Angelina. Our favorite chocolate and tea house in Paris. Got chocolate and Montblanc desert are the best. Even though there was a long waiting it was still worth it.
Be the first to ReplyWell Worth the Line
We waited for about an hour for lunch, but it was well worth it. We had a very friendly and efficient waiter. The food was wonderful...onion soup, club sandwich, grilled cheese, and of course, amazing hot chocolate! The location is very central. We are glad we went.
Be the first to ReplyWorth the Wait
Long wait in line. The hot chocolate was delicious as were the macarons. If you don’t have time to wait it in line, go to the take out side.

A long queue to get in but it’s worth it. The service is quick and attentive, with big smiles and super helpful explaining all the delicacies they are famous for. Went there for a club sandwich quest and I found a winner in town: it is delicious, soft and flavorful with French fries aside, super well done. Took home a Montblanc to taste for dinner desert and it was the Best Ever tried in my 40 something life! Love you all!
Be the first to ReplyGood
Had to wait 40 mins for a table which was annoying. But we were lucky to get in as it was late. The hot chocolate was amazing, but can be sickly for 1 person. We ordered the raspberry macaroon which was OK and an éclair which was nothing special. I think the hot chocolate was the only highlight. Next time I would check the menu to look at what else is popular. Good service though and nice atmosphere.

Waited an hour to get in for lunch. What a disappointment, cold poached eggs, miserable portion sizes and exorbitant prices. Sitting on top of the table next to us was also not brilliant. Completely overrated!
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced tourist trap, lacking service
Perhaps this was good once, seems to rest on the reputation of a long lost glory. Beautiful setting but food way under par, rude service and way overpriced. Avoid.
Be the first to ReplyA much awaited visit to Angelina's
We went for brunch and were pleased with the entire experience. We arrived at 10am and only queued for 15 minutes or so, when we were shown to our table. We all ordered the brunch which included: hot chocolate, orange juice, a selection of bread and croussants with butter, eggs benedict and French toast. It was all very tasty, but also very expensive. Nevertheless, for us, the experience was exceptional and not to be missed.

My boyfriend and I visited Angelina’s for hot chocolate. After waiting in the queue, which goes fairly quickly, we had a lovely table and a very friendly, attentive waitress. Instead of just ordering hot chocolate we ordered the mini afternoon tea thingy, which was served after 3. It was 2:45 and the waitress didn’t have a problem with putting it through, bringing our hot chocolate first and then the food at 3. I know some places are stubborn with rules like this. The hot chocolate was amazing, better then expected. The sandwiches and cakes were also amazing. Probably some of the best food we’ve had, for €25 I thought it was great value for money. I was expecting there to be a service charge. However, there wasn’t, which we were pleased about as we always like to tip servers upon our own experience. In this instance she was lovely and deserved a nice tip.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the food highlights of our trip
My family of 4 (two children aged 12 and 14) went during our 3 days stay in Paris for brunch. The decor is beautiful and we felt special just being in there. We ordered the full brunch to have the full experience which was a bit pricey but worth the splurge for the day and counted as two meals for us that day. The hot chocolate is a must. It is thick and rich and delicious. My family still talks about the experience and we brought home some hot chocolate to make at home hoping to relive the experience.
Be the first to Replydisappointed
we went to enjoy the food and lovely atmosphere but ending up getting poor service as opened jams and when asking for the bill we were shushed by our server. He put his hand up to our face. We felt uncomfortable and unhappy with the service and waited a while for the bill. Food was good tho
Be the first to ReplyA touristy attraction
Definitely a tourist stop, often with lines to go in but it goes pretty fast. I ordered the hot chocolate which was rich, thick and creamy and a mille feuille that was at best average. Conclusion... A interesting tourist stop but honestly you would be better off going to an artisanal boulangerie/patisserie in any neighborhood around Paris and discover the true french gastronomy excellence.
