I would absolutely go again! So fun. Just remember it's Italian so it will be loud! We were seated right in from of the band, but their equipment was tuned so that you could still hear the person talking next to you. Wait staff was superb! The portions are huge, so you are getting more than one meal for the price.

If you’re a horse that eats clams, you’ll probably love this place (ie: giant salt lick). I should have dunked my pasta into my dirty martini to make it “extra dirty”. Literally inedible. The pistachio cake for dessert was quite flavorful, but still frozen in the center. Our waiter, Jacob, was the best part of the evening.

If it were for the food and the service, I would give this 4 1/2 stars, but when I received my charge card statement, I noticed that they changed my tip to a larger amount. Apparently they felt that my 20% was not enough. That’s just wrong. Good luck with your bill.

Fantastic service. Marvelous food. A dreamy ambiance which takes you back in time. Huge portions. Share, you’ll thank me for the advice!

I had gone there many times before the remodeling. The uniqueness was what got people there plus the value including free mussels with every meal The new décor is quite beautiful. We found the place quite cold. We ordered the Anthony salad for one person and the Caesar salad for two. The Anthony salad was a lot of things with a flood of dressing. It should have been reversed as the Caesar salad was a much smaller portion. We had filet mignon and the bronzini for dinner. The other couple said the steak was very good. The fish was pan seared so we were told. It had a crust on it, no taste and was dry. One of the worst bronzini presentations we have ever had in a restaurant. The service was excellent from our waiter. However in a top notch restaurant when the busser cleans off the plates he shouldn't keep dropping the extra food onto one plate in front of us. He should do that in the kitchen.

Review Anthonys Runway 84, November, 2023 Spectacular! I have had some of the finest restaurants all over the world and New York and Las Vegas. So if I say this is spectacular, it’s because it exceeds expectations in just about every facet of the experience, especially for South Florida. I had the pleasure of dining there on my birthday November 25, 2023. This restaurant has been an institution in Fort Lauderdale for decades, known for its delicious Italian food. When you walk in the walls are lined with framed photographs of celebrities, entertainers, public figures, etc. who have dined at Anthony’s Runway 84. I have eaten here many times throughout the years, but not since the beautiful renovation. There is, of course, valet parking. Thereafter, you are transported. When you walk in, you are greeted by a gentleman who greets you like family. The restaurant itself is reminiscent of a beautiful, high-end supper as in New York, London or Monaco. The design is refined and sexy. The staff is also refined and sexy, as well as the many of the polished clientele. And of course, there are normal folks like myself…-) The Food is exceptional, as it has always been. But fair warning – the portions are immense. Did they get bigger? Next time I go, I will twist my dates arm to share an entrée which this date refuse to do…-). The drinks are made fairly strong, not the watered-down version of so many South Florida restaurants, they have a full bar. My Black Russian with Tito’s, milk and easy rocks was made perfectly. The service was spot on. Our server Kasey was perfect. She was attentive without being intrusive. She catered to our every request quickly and cheerfully. She could not have been more perfect. She was a pleasure. The food was served fairly quickly after we ordered and again the portions are very large. Both my date and I had the chicken Parmesan, which was delicious and served at the perfect temperature, with the chicken both crispy and savory. We finished dinner about 8 o’clock. Just about this time, there was a large and lively sophisticated crowd at the bar. I have a feeling this restaurant really gets going after 9 PM. I know they have entertainment, but sadly we were done before the entertainment started. Oh, did not see the bill, I know that the prices are fairly high, although still a fraction of what is charged in many of the high-end restaurants in Miami, which I’ve dined at and don’t hold a candle to this restaurant. Last, but not least, the General Manager, JOE is exceptional. He is personable, stopping to talk with many of the guests here and there, he’s also a hands-on GM when we needed salt and pepper, or any little thing he was more than happy to accommodate. He not only responded personally to my email request, but responded fairly quickly. Impressive! As most of you who see my reviews know - I’m very hesitant to strongly recommend most anything. This restaurant is an exception. It is truly spectacular. Do not visit Fort Lauderdale without visiting this restaurant. It probably books months in advance, especially during season, so book early! I Recommend and you will thank me…Sunny

Do yourself a favor and DON’T bother going here. Bar staff , hostess and managers are so rude not to mention food isn’t good either. Place is stuck in 80’s and it’s a wannabe wise guy bar. Went to dinner with another couple and can’t remember a time when we were treated so poorly. When they renovated they should have renovated and adjusted the attitude of the staff. I think everyone needs to remember the customer is always right and you need them to continue to have a job and a successful restaurant. Needless to say never going back! Highly recommend you don’t go either.

What a bizzare night at Anthonys Runway 84. They really take the gangster theme seriously. I made reservations for 8 for my nephews 14th birthday. I had a few more guests that wanted to come so I called the restauraunt and was told no worries we will put your party in the private room and put 2 tables together to accommodate 11. To my surprise they put us at a round table that hardly fits 8. When I spoke to the women at the front desk to ask her what happened and that she put me in a bad situation she was smug. rude, no smile, and horrible attitude. The manager came over and said whats the problem? I explained to him that I was told we can seat 11 in the private room by the women on the phone. He says I don't give a S*&t what you were told. Then he says change the tone of your voice when you're talking to me, once he said that it was on. I was like who do you think you're talking to? Im the customer, He proceeds to raise his voice and I walked out side he followed me and when I get out side all the staff waiters bartenders busboys valet surround me cursing wanting to fight very surreal. Then all of the sudden the general manager Nick Marino comes out screaming that my private parts are tiny and I should go F my Mother he took 3 swings at me behind his staff and mind you my friend filmed the whole thing I have it on Video. Nick Marino you need to take a hospitality class because you have no Idea how to run a business and you will only hurt this restaurant. He even tells me to come back when they close to fight him one on one which believe me would not bode well for him. Again all on video. To the owner of the Business which I will reach out to should view the cameras and they will see this debacle take place in front of their restaurant. When we all left the women at my table told me that Nick told them he's sorry this happened and they fired the women who told me that she would accommodate my party of 11. Why would he fire her especially before Xmas obviously they only care about money and not people. Don't give this place a dollar of your money better off going to Cafe Martorano's where the owner is always there and he's grateful for your business and not a wannabe gangster!
Be the first to ReplyDon’t go. Total disregard for reservation times
Just can not understand why a restaurant in any city cannot respect a reservation time. We make a reservation based on when we would like to dine , if the restaurant cannot accommodate that time don’t over book. Respect you customers

Be the first to ReplyNot worth the Drive or the food
I've dined here before their big renovation, the food was much better. We ordered 3 different entrees the wait for them was disappointing pointing almost 45 minutes from the time we ordered. Two of the 3 were finally brought to the table one was Cold they took it back to re heat when returned I tasted and sent it back passed on order something different. the 3rd entrée finally came out. This is a place trying to compete with Miami 5 star restaurants and it's not. I've dined in other Italian places in ft Lauderdale that are much better. Don't waist your money!

We made this reservation 45 days ago for 7 pm on a Sunday for our anniversary. We arrived before 7 and were told by the hostess that we would be contacted by phone when our table was ready. We sat in front of the band and had drinks. At 7:30, I checked with the hostess. She told me we were next to be seated, I verified the accuracy of my phone number. I kept my phone in my hand. At 8, I went back and was told that they had called me a few times. This was not true as no calls had been received on my phone. The manager tried to gaslight me for being upset at this. The place is currently mismanaged and does not honor reservations. We hope this changes as it was one of our favorites before the renovation.

Just left Runway 84. Loved Honduras until the end. Really messed up. The manager and valet threatened us with injury. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. WAS CELEBRATING Milestones but never got there....Don’t ask....They were Bully’s/Hoodlums. It was my 70th b day. Just spent the last 3 yrs caring for Covid patients. So sad that these employees were so aggressive.....
Be the first to ReplyFood was very good BUT
I've eaten at Runway 84 a few times before the remodel and it was always very good, but nothing exceptional. It's just a restaurant that's taking advantage of their history. It doesn't mean the food is great or worth the money. What it means is that people are going because of a cultured image. If you peel away the layers of it all , it's another good Italian restaurant. But you can find at many Italian restaurants around Ft.Lauderdale. If you're into all the hoopla and the image making then this place is for you. If you want great italian food without waiting or being taken advantage of , then I would go elsewhere. It's not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyA true Gem of a Restaurant/Supper Club in Ft Lauderdale”
My husband and I were lucky enough to learn about this amazing Restaurant/Supper Club in Ft Lauderdale! We celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary last evening at Anthony’s Runway 84! Total perfection, amazing ambience, delicious food, professional and attentive staff all tied together with music and dancing! We would like to thank, Nick Marino, Manager, for adding to the success of our celebration! Nick, we will surely see you again the next time we are in town! This is one restaurant you should not miss out on, you will be happy you did, we are! I can honestly say, one of our most beautiful anniversaries!!!

We’d been eagerly waiting for the new Runway 84 to open. Being huge fans of the original Anthony’s Runway 84, we had high hopes for the remodeled, reimagined Ft Lauderdale institution. Those hopes quickly turned to disappointment and dissatisfaction. The new Runway 84 is all about making money with no focus on customers or food quality. We decided on a whim to go to an early weekday dinner. We arrived at 5pm sharp and were immediately seated in the almost empty dining area. Despite the restaurant being empty and our party being in no rush, we were told we had to place our entire order upfront and that our waiter would “course out the dishes” accordingly, to ensure we didn’t receive our entrees before we finished our first course. After some discussion about how I dislike feeling rushed and placing orders all at once because the dishes are rarely “coursed” appropriately, we agreed to place our entire order because we were told it was the restaurant policy (side note, this should have been our clue to leave, because things went downhill from here). I don’t need to tell you, our dishes were not “coursed,” our entire party of four were all still enjoying appetizers when the main course arrived. As far as food goes, I’ll spend only a sentence or two because it doesn’t deserve much discussion. The food was very poor, VERY unreasonably priced and doesn’t compare in the least to the food at the original Runway 84. The grande finale of disastrous evening was when we had half a bottle of wine and a dessert of the table, thinking we’d finish both and be on our way in about 20-30min…but no. Instead, a low level manager took the opportunity to rudely tell us we had to leave because they needed the table. It was about 7:40pm on a weeknight. There was no line of people waiting for tables, and even if there had been, I am entitled to finish my meal without being rushed or otherwise harassed. After a discussion with a high level manager to express my concerns and let them know we won’t be coming back, we left. If you enjoy nice decor over food quality, flavor and helpful service. This is your place. If you, like me, place importance on the quality of the food and the courtesy of the restaurant’s staff, go elsewhere. It is a shame the Runway 84 name is being ruined in this way.

I think the food is better than ever. Love the new atmosphere. Great valet parking. Packed bar. A very nice evening. Excellent server Neli.

The portions are very large but the food was only so-so. The prices were exhorbitant. The noise level was awful. I do NOT recommend this place
Be the first to ReplyToo loud and too hot on the patio
We have been to Anthony’s Runway 84 twice since it reopened. We visited the first time when it had only been open a week. The four of us were seated in the dining room. The food was delicious. The service was close to non-existent. Tables came and went while we waited for periodic service. But hey, it was newly reopened so we went back with two other friends this past weekend to try again. This time we were seated on the patio along the front screened in wall. This time the food AND service were exceptional but between the noise from the street and the loud music, we were unable to hold a conversation. It felt more like a nightclub and not a restaurant. It was also extremely hot. The waiter said he turned down the AC but it was still pretty miserable. Can’t imagine what summer will be like. We ordered our dessert to go and got out of there as quickly as possible.

Travelled from Boca Raton for a Birthday celebration. Our party of 8 was sat on time even though the place was packed. I'm a big fan of grilled veal chop and it was cooked to perfection. Service and atmosphere was great, looking forward to returning next time we're in Ft. Lauderdale.

I went this past weekend with business associates that I have been telling about runway 84 since they close down last winter for the renovations my expectations were very high. Reservations were for the dining room we made them weeks in advance we got there and we told it was only room on the patio I should've seen the problems coming. Our server was Robert may be the worst server I've ever had in any restaurant in my life, it was embarrassing to say the least the service was so terrible and my business associate said I'm not allowed to pick the next restaurant for dinner for six months because I picked this place never again. I'm originally from New York City and I dine out 2 to 3 times a week and I know good restaurants, the food here was a seven out of 10 the service turned the whole experience into a three out of 10 too many good places to eat in Fort Lauderdale to put up with this nonsense.
Be the first to ReplyThe BEST Italian American food EVER!!
OMG. Sooooooo soooo soooo good! We have eaten Italian American food all over the world. This place is a throwback to old school NYC italian restaurants. It belongs in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, or the Bronx. From the live Sinatra style performance, to the comfortable booths, to the excellent server (Robert) to the star of the show— the food— all exceptional. We got clams oreganato, tableside prepared caesar salad, Sunday Feast, and veal chop parmigiana— wow! The Feast had really good meatballs, sausage, gravy, and pasta. These are hard dishes to get perfect. They were PERFECT. This place is worth flying here to eat! Go now.
