Anton's Café & Wine Bar New York Reviews from The Last Year
What a spot.
It's classically American in there. Loud, dimly lit, and cozy. Make a reservation because it gets *crowded* and there's not a lot of seating. I went with a big group of friends and we decided we were going to share all the plates. That was absolutely the move, and I recommend it for anyone. Get the Pâté Grand-mère, don't ask what it is, just try it because it's great. But honestly, not a single bad plate was ordered. And the food came out SO quick! The entire staff was wonderful. I want to go back and try more dishes.

Love love love this place! The staff is so friendly and the food and atmosphere are amazing. We came for brunch and had the omelette and the quiche special, both were incredible. Later we walked by during dinner hours and decided we have to come back to try their pasta, it looks incredible! It's also in the cutest area, great for people watching. Can't wait to come back!!

This place is my fav! Davit is awesome and very knowledgeable about the drinks here. I highly recommend everyone to visit this bar when you are in the village area! Food and drinks are 10/10

The brunch there is my absolute favorite!! The omelet specifically. Highly recommend for brunch.
This place really caught me off guard.
I stopped in for a meal around 5:30pm. I glanced the menu and thought it looked like it lacked options. We were also seated quickly. I admit, I worried it would be a bad experience. What I came to realize is some places have options they do VERY well, and don't need a crowded menu. I ordered the spinach ricotta ravioli and added mushrooms and it was some of the best ravioli I ever tasted. Ly friend got the sea bass with capers and it was perfect. I also ordered raw clams & oysters, which were fresh & delicious. We finished with warm apple crisp ala mode, which was good but couldn't come close to their warm cookies. We had a slight issue that was quickly handled professionally and will be back when in the area. After dinner the place started to really fill up. Clearly others really like this place, too.

Best deal in town a full sized portion of any pasta from noon to 5 pm and after 3 pm the Happy Hour menu kicks in. I went for the lemon, with fava beans and really enjoyed. Plus you can sit outside.
I would not return nor recommend Anton's.
I live in the area and decided to pop in on Friday night. We waited for 30 minutes to be seated inside. It was deafening in there (be prepared not to hear anything except yelling). The waiter took our order and disappeared (didn't ask if we wanted something to drink or dessert). It took a very long time for the food to come out and get the check (I literally had to hunt the waiter down to get it). But, most importantly, the food was AWFUL. The food was so salty that it was inedible. We tried to force it down because we were starving and waited over 2 hours to get the food. I told the waiter thinking it was an honest mistake and the kitchen resend kale to our table which was equally as salty but DOUSED in butter. We left disappointed and disgusted. With so many options in the West Village, you can dine anywhere else and have a better experience.
Anton's was excellent.
The food is incredible, service staff is kind and attentive, and the space is well laid out so it feels intimate and not crowded. We ordered the whitefish salad, shrimp spaghetti a la Camille, the sea bass, and the swordfish. There were no misses, and the sea bass is probably the best sea bass I have ever had. It was perfectly flaky and caramelized. Our drinks were delicious (Negroni sbagliatos and gin martinis) and our waitress was attentive, and volunteered to provide a side of veggies with the whitefish salad for one of our friends that's gluten intolerant.

I want to start off by noting how charming this restaurant is. You can really appreciate the history both in the ambiance and menu. A lot of heart and soul seems to have been placed to create the perfect dining experience. My partner and I enjoyed a beautiful steak, salad, and pasta dish. All of which has left us longing for our next NYC getaway. Service was courteous and attentive. They had a very nice wine selection and made a fabulous off-the-menu cocktail for us. I really wish we had room for dessert because everything on the menu sounded amazing.
No taste chicken cutlet, small pasta portion which was ok
No taste chicken cutlet, small pasta portion which was ok because of the watery sauce and 3 tasteless shrimp. Service was not attentive . Was offered bread to sop up the watery sauce but if it wasn't brought out with the pasta is it an up sell?

Loved this late lunch we shared on a fleeting sunny wintery day. Service is excellent. We sat out on the covered patio. Smoked whitefish salad w rye crisps - easily my favorite Popover w jam - ok Bucatini - tasty Specialino spritz (cappelletti and Prosecco) - nice Overall the experience was pleasant and the heaters kept us warm.
Maybe it was an off night but....
I don't like leaving negative reviews but there was something wrong for sure on Saturday night for an early reservation at 5:30. I can't understand when half the place was so empty that early they went to seat us at the smallest coldest table by the front door. After our No in unison the quickly moved us to a table opposite the bar. The noise was like being at the Super Bowl for two hours. Just deafening. I have never shouted more throughout a dinner. And then the server was just awful. He never told us there was specials which we learned after we ordered, he never brought us bread, and the funniest thing was after we paid our bill and about to stand he totally forgot and asked us if we wanted to order desert. It was like a scene out of a movie. The pastas were just ok. Not very big portions and overall I would recommend folks try any of the 1000 better restaurants in the area.

Amazing service and a romantic atmosphere.
We had the mixed chicories salad, the Camembert, baguette & Cherry gastrique and the sea bass. Each selection was amazing and the service was outstanding.
Anton's, Grenwich Billage West.
On the corner of 11th. St. & Hudson St. So Good ! If you want to go out with your significant other for a dinner date, this is the place. For a few dollars more you get atmosphere, friendly & inviting hostess's/ well groomed & versed waiter service. They have a delicious juicy vintage steak that's huge & super tasty like no other in the west village & it's served on a hot plate with the tastiest fresh water cress ( giant sized ) & super delicious also, a side of fresh made mash in olive oil & a giant bay leaf, yummy. I like to have their arugula salad before / sprinkles of olive oil & a finely graded grana padana covering the salad, "the best". Manager is friendly & observant & comes up to you out of nowhere with a big smile & a big welcome. Sometimes with a complimentary sample or side, a real gentlemen ! Make this place your dining alternative to "home sweet home" it's easy to do at Anton's

Favorite spot of the girls weekend because it felt those most cozy and neighborhoody of all the restaurants we visited. Great waitress who helped us narrow down choices. Not best popover I've ever had but good. Nova plate and Brussels salad great shares. Perfect for pre Whitney dining
Came here for lunch as I had a meeting in the area.
We didn't have a reservation, but they accommodated the two of us. The place was relatively empty at 1230 but filled up by 1. The service was excellent - experienced waitstaff and busboys and they were attentive and friendly. The food is generally Italian I think (they are known for their pasta dishes) but there are some other unusual options on the menu as well, some of it seasonal it seems. We had the whitefish app because it seemed odd to see it on the menu. We loved it. So favorful and the rye toasts were perfect. I had the pasta with mutton ragu for lunch and it was perfectly seasoned and a filling comfort food for a cold day. The location is right off of Bleeker in a fantastic neighborly part of the West Village that is great for walking, especially at night. Room is warm and inviting and full of light - great place for a work meal or a date.
Tried out Anton's for brunch.
Service from the host was super not friendly, making us feel uncomfortable for showing up a bit early for our reservation and offering no greeting. Weird start to the meal, but eventually they sat us. Ambiance is cute though - dark wood, big windows, large bar. We were excited to try their famous martinis-went with an espresso martini and a classic. Had to go with a famous popover to start as well as the shared Bucatini Baczynsky, spicy but delish! Brunch entrees ranged from the classic omelette, to the roast beef sandwich to the ravioli. Everyone really enjoyed their food and were almost too stuffed to try the cheesecake for dessert. Almost! Despite the weird host, our waiter was great, making great food recommendations and offering extra bread we could dip in the leftover sauce of our food when we were nearly done eating! Would recommend this place for some classic brunch!
Recommend for friends and couples!
Lovely relaxed vibe. Super charming staff. Food mostly excellent (the pasta, the steak, the cheesecake) with one miss. Excellent location.
Came here late night for drinks and small bar bites.
I liked the ambiance. For drink, I tried the Walnut Boheme and really liked it, smooth. For the bite, we tried this really nice appetizer like food, Foie gras! Worth the try

I was between 3 and 4 stars for this place, as the steak was good but saltiness was over the flavor of it, service was okay just wasn't sure who was my server because there were 3 of them changing, also not sure if I would recommend this place as I think there's better steak places or Italian restaurants out there.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
