Looked forward to trying out this New Orleans classic and won't be going back. Started with the tasteless crab claws. My main dish was also similarly bland. We had bananas foster for dessert and that was good. Service was good and staff very attentive. Unsure why they make a big production about the rolls. They are standard bland white dinner rolls with butter. Instead of bringing bread for the table, they use tongs to give each person one roll and one pat of butter. They bring a little water bowl with a lemon to wash your hands. Why? We were invited to look at the onsite "mardi gras museum." They have some old Mardi Gras costumes on mannequins. Some of the mannequins are cracked and look very shabby. Doesn't look like the museum is maintained at all. Feels like a metaphor for the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyI really enjoyed the meal.
I actually want to go back and try other items. Not too impressed with the service, took about 25 mins. to put our appetizer in. I also was there to celebrate my husband's birthday which I informed the restaurant about, but our waitress didn't even acknowledge it when we were there. There was a $12 music/band fee but we didn't even get to enjoy the music. The musicians were in and out in a blink of an eye (3 songs, gone!) came back to sing happy birthday to someone at the table across ours, proceed to another table and then gone again. I really thought they were going to do the same for my husband but did not happen. Anyway, I wouldn't pick this place to celebrate another birthday but we will more likely to come back in the future to try other items.
Be the first to Replywe had a great experience in the jazz bistro.
it's not super loud but also nice to have live music during a truly great dining experience. the drinks are well-crafted, and food is truly special. the service was also great. Keith and Chance are a dynamic duo of knowledge and helpfulness. Keith especially stands out with his recommendations and banter. They should pay him whatever he wants. Can't wait to come back.
Be the first to ReplyOverrated and disappointing.
Our waiter was friendly and warm, and generally speaking we were greeted kindly. However, when we established how we wanted to be paired for our checks, suddenly new fees appeared on our bills, including a "liquor fee" for nonalcoholic beverages. When we politely questioned this, we were given a nonsensical explanation with what I assume to be a manager standing closely by as if to intimidate us. The food was very mediocre - aside from the crab cakes which I do believe were excellent, the sides including the soufflรฉ potatoes tasted as if they were frozen foods that had been microwaved. I would not go back. Our experience wasn't the "fine dining" experience of good food that has been advertised on some platforms.

10/10 for best food/service experience! When you want an amazing dining experience, go to Arnaud's. The Sunday Jazz brunch is divine. From the servers to management, everyone was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, highly recommend the crabmeat cheesecake and turtle soup. You absolutely need to order the bananas foster dessert which is made table side. We even took our daughter and everyone was sweet to her. Have a French 75 cocktail and enjoy the jazz music!
Be the first to ReplyWe had an absolutely amazing time dining here at Arnaud's.
The food was unreal, and the service was phenomenal. Our server Travis was so friendly and our entire family had such an amazing time. I highly recommend checking out Arnaud's when visiting New Orleans. If we ever make it back to this city we will be sure to return to this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance was spirited and welcoming.
The cuisine was beautifully prepared and delicious and Tyrone made sure the service was exemplary. Great to know a classic's still got it!!

What a great place! My wife and I went there last night for dinner. We had the oysters Arnaud, crab claws, crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms, crabmeat Karen and ended it with a baked Alaska. Sounds like a lot. And it was, but everything except the crabmeat Karen were appetizers. Some were definitely full by the end of the evening but didn't have anything leftover. Incredible food quality. We live in SoCal and try to come to NO once a year. Just for the restaurants. Arnauds did not disappoint. And the service is off the charts. Waiters were all in tuxedos. And super friendly. The restaurant was packed and had a great vibe. I wore slacks and a collared shirt and felt a bit under dressed. I only counted two other men who did not have on a sports coat or suit, so I recommend to take their dress attire requirements seriously. You don't want to end up looking like the homeless guy outside.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Sunday jazz brunch at this restaurant.
The waitstaff was attentive and informative. The Belgium waffle was good. The crab cakes were good too. The banana fosters was amazing. The Gumbo trio was fabulous. The soprano sax, string bass and guitar players were great!

Historic and fancy restaurant in New Orleans with a separate bar and small museum dedicated to one of the founders of this restaurant. They focus on seafood and we tried a lot of what's on the menu. But, I was at a large table and wasn't able to capture pics of my colleagues entrees... And, Andy Garcia (actor) sat at the table next to ours! Definitely worth visiting if you're visiting New Orleans as it's off Bourbon Street.

You must listen to jazz and have a nice fish with a dry white. I love the tile floor the noise, the history even with the awful tourists dining in sweats on occasion. The location always transcends and transports.
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal service and brunch dining experience.
Dave was super friendly and made an amazing bananas foster. He even told us the history of the restaurant and made it a pleasant dining experience for us. Great food, great service, and great music!
Be the first to ReplyOn a recent trip to NOLA, we had a group dinner here.
The room was a great setting for a group dinner. Elegant yet not snobby. Private and away from the craziness of Bourbon St. The gumbo was spot on. Nice and rich. The rest of the meal was enjoyable as well thought it's a group meal so I can't judge too closely. The dessert was a flambรฉ. It was a whole show as well. A little sweet for my tastes but utterly New Orleans. Service was professional and overall we enjoyed the meal. Wouldn't hesitate to have a group meal here. They handled it like a pro.

Crab cakes, Seafood Gumbo and the Crayfish dishes were delicious. Pompano Duarte not so much. Travis put on a show with both Bananas Foster and Cafe Brรปlรฉe. Service was exceptional. Restaurant was too loud to hear someone sitting next to me.

Best Jazz Brunch hands down! This is our must stop when in NOLA! I ordered the crab cheese cake Devine! Our dessert crepe Suzette prepared table side! The music is always top notch, strolling jazz band. Service is amazing!

I wish I didn't have to say it but this is a total tourist trap. The food was disappointing but the live band made up for it. Started w the Mushrooms Veronique, good but literally 3 mushroom caps for $12. Had the Pompano David and the pompano Duarte. The David Pompano was a bit dry and over salted but was delish w the wild mushroom side added to the bite. Do not, I repeat, do not fall victim to the potato's soufflรฉ storyline. Quite literally 6-7 glorified French fries served on a fancy napkin. Overall just overpriced ok food.
Be the first to ReplyA step back into another time and classic creole cuisine.
I was torn whether would go to Commanders or Arnaud's and not disappointed. Staff in tuxes so yes dress up a little. Just because on Bourbon street doesn't mean wearing jeans etc... a few bar patrons didn't get the memo. The fare is $30 to $45 for Main before the sides. But you aren't living if you don't treat yourself. Had the blue crab claws to start and I had the Turtle soup finished with Sherry and my wife the seafood gumbo. I'd lick the soup bowl but fear it would lead to an imminent divorce. The crab sweet and presented eloquently. Main courses Pontchartrain (a snapper) with lump crab and I had on of their house specialties Pompano Duarte a creole sauce on my fish. Both fishes cooked perfectly. My wife's refined and rich and mine with the heart and soul of creole. Either path would make you smile. For a few dollars more had fresh asparagus and wild mushrooms and we loved every bite.A very memorable last night in NOLA thanks to the staff, the music and chefs at Arnaud's
Be the first to ReplyArnaud's is the type of place you make an effort to visit
Arnaud's is the type of place you make an effort to visit any and every time you visit New Orleans! It's a place that brings a historical feel to your eating experience and also takes you back to a time of great Southern hospitality with its service. The decor and ambiance inside are what also make it feel very special each time you visit. The inside is grand with its tall ceilings like most of the buildings and homes in New Orleans. The seating is very family style and caters to intimate conversations should you be there as a duo or as a group. The light fixtures add to the beauty of the place and the experience itself. The service was very on par with what you'd expect when it comes to Southern hospitality, we were frequented often and given whatever we needed. We ordered some French 75's to start our evening and they were quite delicious and strong in a way that I didn't know until after the first one.The food was so divine! The Oysters Bienville were absolutely unexpected but worth the experience. My friend and I got our own order each just to see what we thought of each one and are so happy we did - they're rich in flavor and provide a very different texture to what you'd expect in cooked oysters. The Shrimp Arnaud is also worth the delicious flavoring in the sauce, which paired with their mac n' cheese was exquisite.I would definitely come back but would encourage any patron that might not feel comfortable in traditional gendered formal wear (ex: dress shirt with jacket) to be mindful of the dress code. I'm non-binary and had a bit of a struggle trying to figure out what to wear.
Be the first to ReplyFilet mignon was phenomenal.
Heavily peppered crust. Well balanced seasoning. I would return for just that!Starter bread was also memorable! I could eat a million of those, each with a generous slice of their yummy butter. I was here for a work event so can't speak for the main dining room. But the host stand was staffed with very friendly and helpful people who were helpful in coming with me to find the right place for our private dining function. The only complaint I have is that the server attending to our private event was not the most familiar with their beverage list and wasn't able to offer a la carte apps.Bright, festive ambiance. Elegant dining but with personality and history. Great spot!
Be the first to Replymade a reservation for dinner 3 days in advance.
they confirmed day time with us the day of. then they mentioned that men have to have long bants no sneakers and shirts with a collar. is been in the 80s and long pants are not an option. had to cancel. they proprietor needs to post their dress code up Fri t rather than waiting until reservation is confirmed.

I was here for a company dinner, and dined in one of their private rooms. The service was impeccable! All of the food was amazing, especially the steak dish. The tableside bananas foster was so tasty, and it was quite a show! I'm excited to come back to see how their regular service is, but I definitely recommend to check it out!

Going out with a large group can sometimes wreak havoc at restaurants, but the staff here took good care of us. Attentive and patient when answering our questions. This is a more traditional French restaurant with classics like escargots - I recommend! For wine lovers, they have an extensive list. For non-alcohol drinkers, they also offer mocktails.

From start to finish EXCELLENT! This was for a very special birthday and it did not disappoint! The food, ambience and service was impeccable! I highly recommend making reservations AND the bananas foster in that order. I had the trout almondine . I will dream of this meal for months to come! I cannot say enough great things about this fine establishment! ย The wait without reservations was an hour long but I would have done it and I seldom wait for a table. Quite possible the best meal I've had in a long time! I'll be back!
Be the first to ReplyJazz brunch was so much fun.
Servers with colorful personalities and good live music. Cocktails- French 75 was made with cognac instead of gin which was an interesting twist. Bloody Mary was perfectly spiced but had a little too much mix making it thick at the bottom. Food is better than you would think for a place like this. The shrimp bisque was excellent- one of the best soups anywhere. Fish Meuniรจre was also great. Crab cakes were good and didn't have a lot of filler. Bananas foster made table side was entertaining theater but they only cook the bananas for a quick second and don't give them enough of a chance to caramelize. The ice cream they are served over was kind of melted to begin with so it got a little soupy but still tasted good. Overall a very fun experience.
Be the first to ReplySo this is our second time here.
The first time we went, it was a five star experience. So we wanted to meet there again with friends. One of the hostesses was very rude. I asked if I should follow the woman and she said very rudely ย "like I said, yes". Eek.The staff are all in tuxedos and it is a classic new Orleans style restaurant, which I love. It's a more formal place but you don't need to be in a suit. They helped us choose a great wine.We definitely loved their oysters bienville, but the items that didn't taste as amazing as we remembered were their signature cocktails like the French 75 and the coffee drink, as well as the souffle potatoes and shrimp arnaud. The strawberry dessert was forgettable and the pot de creme was good.
