I had a need for pasta and a salad.
I was solo, so a bar top was preferable. Artusi was perfect. There were two other solo diners at the bar, so I was alone, but not. I chose the carbonara because I can cook, and this is something I have recipes for, but never made. Now I have a benchmark to target when making it at home. The salad was a perfect way to eat a scallop and veges that cut the richness of the carbonara.

Artusi is a lovely cocktail bar, charmingly decorated, with a lovely view of 14th Avenue through its large, sweeping windows. I went there with my family for a special occasion after seeing some stellar reviews of the food and was curious to try out the place for myself. We started with drinks, which were definitely a standout, as the cocktail menu features a variety of specialty and seasonal cocktails which were well-dressed, presented, dynamic, and refreshing. Then came the food which was also fantastic. The pasta is all made in-house and you can definitely taste the freshness. My dish, the Pasta Della Sera, was a bit bland, but my family's dishes were quite good, and I would definitely recommend trying the meatballs. Although others have noted the portion sizes, they did not bother our group as the food was very hearty. I really wanted to give this place five stars, but I found our server throughout the experience to be cold and frazzled by questions regarding the menu's unconventional ingredients, a charming aspect of the place that interested our group. Despite their professed confidence in their knowledge of the menu, our server appeared to have quite a bit of difficulty articulating the flavor profiles of the various drinks and food items and became noticeably irritable when asked for reccomendations. It was below standard for a place with otherwise such lovely atmosphere and food. With that being said, every other employee we encountered at Artusi was warm and friendly so perhaps we got unlucky with that particular server. I will certainly be back and would recommend Artusi to anyone who likes fresh pasta and unique drinks.

We came here monday for an early dinner before the kraken game. We got the wine and pasta for 2. First the restaurant is well kept with, lots of windows and it just had a fresh atmosphere inside. Optional patio seating for hot summer days which is a bonus. The service was really prompt and knowledgeable, really nice fellow who took care of us. The food was absolutely delicious, the meatballs were moist and the bruschetta was a healthy sized portion with a little kick to it. If i had one gripe which is a stretch i'll admit is that the portion size of my mezzaluna was tiny BUT it was really good. Here's some pics and all in all a home run and will be coming back soon.

Meh. None of the flavors were jumping out or speaking to me. Tiramisu wasn't doing its thang!!

I've been going here every month for the better part of 2 years now! My boyfriend and I love coming here - the staff, food, and seasonal dishes are incredible. A common remark is the portion sizes being small, and it's definitely true but make sure to take your time with each dish. They're excellently crafted and the pasta is made in-house. We try to make it through each of their seasonal menus as they come out. We haven't had a bad experience yet! The cocktails are also gorgeous, just not in my standard flavor profile so I typically opt for their house wine. The atmosphere is one of my favorites: quirky yet classy, with an art deco style which makes it fun, relaxed, yet elevated. Note: there's a decent parking garage to the left of Artusi's entrance in case you can't find cheaper street parking. Subnote: you're paying a bit extra for the craftsmanship and service so expect to pay a bit more for less quantity (but definitely high quality!)

Top that with a great happy hour equals excellent experience! Definitely coming back here!

Took the entire family, kids included, to Seattle for a week. Searched around for a high-end but not too expensive Italian restaurant and landed on Artusi. Lucky for us, when we wandered in without a reservation, they had availability and a table for four. We sat by the window and watched people wander by and look jealously in the window. we shared a variety of great dishes - fried hazelnuts, Barada, fish, pasta. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the meatballs, which come with a side of extremely buttery garlic toast. we also shared a bottle of the house red, a Pinot Noir that paired perfectly with our food. Service was a bit on the moody side, but attentive. Highly recommend!!

No reservations, walk in only. We were sat at the chef's bar. So fun to watch them work their magic and to be able to chat with them at the same time. Service is impeccable, love the vibe of the space. Can't wait to go back and get more meatballs!!
Be the first to ReplyUnderwhelming, overpriced, so hungry.
I think people are hyping it and coming here because they see that it's full on the inside, but if you're really curious, come sit down and eat, it's pretty meh in every way.

Great dinner spot in Seattle! I went on a Sunday night and got seated right away. We decided to do the Pasta and Wine night, which was so worth it!! The pastas were delicious, and the price is unbeatable. We also ordered a meatball and the Fry Bread appetizer--both were great. Would definitely go again!

This is the best Italian restaurant in the city as far as I'm concerned. The fried bread, the meatball, the braised pork with white beans, the cop salad, and the squash cake are all to die for. Honestly there is nothing here I haven't loved. The portions are on the smaller side but are much closer to what a pasta serving should be anyways.

This is the sister restaurant of Spinasse and the menu here rotates more. We came on a weekday night and it was relatively empty. The service was very attentive and everything we ordered was amazing! We ordered the kohlrabi salad to start and it was really refreshing and unique. We also ordered the meatballs which were really flavorful and juicy! For the main course we ordered the short rib pasta and the salmon ravioli. The portions were a bit small but the they were cooked well and had good texture. If you're looking to try some really good pasta without having to get a reservation at Spinasse, I'd definitely come here! This is the one of the best Italian food I've had in Seattle so far! I didn't go to the happy hour but the menu looked much cheaper so I would definitely want to come back!

Loved this restaurant! Sister restaurant to the well-known Spinasse, this is another must try! Bright and modern specializing in some delicious modern Italian dishes and cocktails.Service was great! Rotating/seasonal menu always leaves something new to try! They have an amazing happy hour menu Tuesday through Saturday and a Pasta Night [2 pastas and a bottle of wine (red, white or bubbles) for $45] on Sundays and Mondays! We ordered:Appetizer:House-Baked Bread (for 3 people) - soft bread with some delicious lightly flavored butter and olive oil. Always a good choice to start!Main:Dunderi Ricotta gnocchi with roasted sunchokes, kumquats & fried sunchokes - really good flavor and melts in your mouth! Recommend!Risotto with butternut squash & rosemary - easily our favorite thing we had all night! So much flavor, perfectly cooked. This is a must order!Maltagliati egg yolk pasta with wild boar ragu & parmigiano - good flavor! Surprisingly light noodle and not too much meat. Recommend!Meatballs - we ordered one for each of us. Really good flavor and has some bread with plenty of sauce!Cocktails:A-pear-itivo Spritz - light and refreshing! A good choice!Pirate Breakfast - not a favorite for us. Dessert:Cannoli with almond mousse, almond brittle, poached pear & caramelized muscovado gelato - good and light dessert option! If you like cannolis, you'll like this!Tiramisu - mason jar size. I wouldn't consider this shareable haha but that's because I love tiramisu! This one didn't disappoint!Highly recommend this place! If you are looking for a great restaurant with some amazing Italian food, look no further!

Artusi has incredible food and drinks available during happy hour at affordable prices! The restaurant is bright and has great vibes. Highly recommend the pasta della Serra -- whatever it is!
Be the first to ReplyGreat pasta, great cocktails, and cute ambience.
My personal favorites are the meatballs (make sure to go for happy hour).
Be the first to ReplyWe had an absolutely amazing time at Artusi.
The food was unreal and the vibe in here is great. I highly recommend checking this place out, we went for the Sunday/Monday special, two pastas and a bottle of wine for $45, it is absolutely amazing. I can't wait to come back again.

Overall great food, great service, okay cocktails, and an amazing ambiance. It's places like Artusi that make me think about moving to Capitol Hill sometimes. Restaurant/Vibe - I came here on a Friday night with no reservation with three people around 7:30 and was able to grab a table. It's a small space but has a beautiful bar area. Food - As a vegetarian, I ordered the bread, burrata, and risotto. All three were great, but the bread and burrata really stood out. The cocktails were not bad, but also not amazing. I should have gone with wine instead. Overall great spot, they change up the menu seasonally so I'll go back again when they switch up their vegetarian pasta (there were two on the menu).

Artusi is a local treasure and I'm glad it's still going strong after a decade+ of service. The reboot to the space isn't my favorite change (the previous vibe was way better) but it clearly opened up more room to seat the number of patrons who always pack this place up. Artusi offers a couple of really great specials to enjoy the experience and not pay as much in doing so. Happy hour happens every day (I think?) starting at 5 and you can get a really great meal this way in comparison to comparable places to eat; the pasta of the day is always delicious and fun to try, the cocktails are always fun and inventive, and you can never go wrong with their classic meatballs. Also they have their special with two pastas and bottle of wine. Super great deal. If you order this plus another small dish you and your date will be good to go. (Speaking of which - this has to be one of the top five "first date" places you can go in the city!)In many ways I prefer this place to its big brother (Spinnase) next door because the space and vibe is so much more relaxing but the food is equally delicious. I'm a huge fan.

Sadly, less than mediocre food at a pretty high price. Disappointing

Finally got to try Artusi out after having it saved in my bookmarks forever! We walked in around 7pm on a Saturday night and was able to get a table right away. The service was great and the Tonnarelli pasta was delicious! However, I was disappointed in the size of the dish for it being $23. The size of the dish was smaller than my hand! I would still come back though for happy hour because the food was still great

5/5!! Walked in and easily got a table for 3 on a Monday evening for dinner. Luckily for us, it was pasta night, which mean 2 pasta entrees and a bottle of wine for $45. A deal so good, we did it twice! The three of us split all 4 pasta entrees and 2 bottles of red. It was a great deal and opportunity for us to try all the different dishes. My favorite was the mushroom cavatelli, but they all had such distinct flavors you can't go wrong! The service was attentive but not too bothersome which we appreciated and the ambiance was casual but still nice! Would definitely recommend and return!
