Brought my man here as a surprise date and to say that we enjoyed our time and had a blast is an understatement. We did two plates and where there for a few hours being the artist masters we are. Took just a few days for the plates to be ready and it was worth the wait. If you plan on coming, I recommend doing an appointment since they do get busy. I do hope to come back and create more art!

We planned ahead and came in early to make presents for Father's Day. When picking up my daughters plate I noticed it was chipped. I was told some excuse and shown the plate wasn't holding the paint and it was chipping off all over. That's not the problem. things happen. It's how it was handled which is why I'm giving a bad review. There was no solution other than the refund me for the product cost. My daughter was in tears because she no longer had a special gift to give to her daddy on Father's Day. I had to argue to get my sitting fee refunded. Why should I have to pay for a sitting fee when the product that we spent time painting can't even come home. It was just a waste of time. They could have offered for her to do something new for free or re make her plate and make sure it was done for Father's Day but they offered nothing other than a store credit of the plate cost. I shouldn't have had to get upset and request my money back to my card or for the sitting fee to be refunded. We have come to as you wish many times but will now find someplace else to go.
Be the first to ReplyGood location with friendly staff.
Only critic workers don't enforce the return of colors to the rack. As a customer I should not have to chase down paint from other patrons.

My friend and I walked in and no one greeted us or helped us. It was our first time there, so we didn't know how the process worked. After wandering around for a bit, looking lost and waiting for an employee to help us, no one did, so we just selected some pottery and sat down at a random table to start painting. There were 2 young female employees working. After us, every costumer that came in was greeted and asked if they've been there before, or had any questions. A lady came in later and had a reservation, but the employees and her started staring at our direction, talking and starring us down. Apparently we had sat at the reserved table for that lady. We had no idea that the table was reserved since we've never been there before and no one had helped us or let us know. I apologized sincerely and said that we can move, however, the employee said that it was fine and seated the lady at the table next to us. Then one of the employees finally came over to get our name and information of the pieces we were painting and asked if we will be paying separately. I said yes that we will be paying separately and she noted it down. When my friend got up to get some paint, the lady glared at her. The whole time there, we felt very uncomfortable and really wanted to leave, however, we had already started painting. The employees would go to every table to talk to the customers and check on them, but never once came over to talk to us or check on us until the very end just to tell us that there's 30 minutes left. When we went to checkout, she combined the bill even though we said in the beginning that we will be paying separately. She was said that oh it's already entered in the system as one, I should have asked before, but they did ask earlier and we said that we were paying separately and they even noted it down. Also the price tag on the mug I painted was $18, however, was charged $22 for the mug alone, not including the studio fees and taxes. Unfortunately we were the only non-white people there, so this treatment may have been racially driven.
Be the first to ReplyThe experience itself was fun.
However, I was not able to finish my piece due to a later reservation. Upon returning the next day to finish, I had to pay ANOTHER $8 studio fee. No where on the website under "How it Works" does it say that you will be charged if you do not finish your piece in one sitting. I could not find anything on the website that states you only have a certain amount of hours to finish painting. This does not seem ethical. There is no addition time, paint, or firing of the piece to require an additional $8.

I took my daughter and sister here almost a month ago and had such a wonderful experience. We first tried to go to the Westgate location but were told they had no openings, I was very disappointed because I called several weeks in advance to see if I would need an appointment which they informed me I didn't. Then the day of they had nothing available for us. I called this location and they had space for us. It was my daughters birthday so they gave her balloons and were extremely friendly the whole time. They gave us a discount for it being my daughters birthday and made the overall experience a joy. It's such a fun activity to do with kids or even alone. We will be going back soon.

Went to the acrylic paint pour class this past Friday and had the worst experience from booking the class a few weeks in advance through the pickup of my portrait today. Before Covid I had purchased a punch card that gave you discounts on the studio fees for purchasing in advance. So I got excited when I got an email of the acrylic pouring classes as I have watched many on YouTube and Pinterest. I called to see if I could use the card for the studio fees on the class and the girl told me to book and pay online ($60 each plus tax x 2 people) and then on the day of the class just let them know and they would reimburse me. I got to class and presented my card and then was told it's not the right card, it's a new card that they use for class discounts...fine. Then we see the girls setting up for class and see only 4 colors being set up (pink, orange, yellow and white). I asked if we were going to pick our own colors (which is the whole premise of their business) and was told that we had to use the 4 colors selected and this is what the website shows. Not only did the website not show that but I would have thought that was an example, not a requirement. Since it was a night out with my mom, we decided to stay for the class. The class was very tight with no social distancing (I believe 8-10 gals) sitting at one table. The class was to be 2 hours, which end up being 55 minutes of prepping the back of our canvas with tape (had to take turns sharing the tape so that took a while) and the employees pouring paint into our cups. The actual pour was 5 minutes and we were done in one hour flat. We were told to leave the paintings there and pickup in 3 days so they could put two coats of shellac on the paintings so give them the iconic shiny finish. I called three days later and Olivia said they were really busy and they weren't ready. I called on the fourth day and Olivia again answered and said they were ready. I ran over to pick them up and they were never had any shellac put on and where dry and dull...just dry acrylic paint. I asked what happened to the shellac as they promised they would be completed. The girl said that there were notes that they gave us shellac and we were going to do it ourselves which was further from the truth. I asked why it took 4 days then if it wasn't to allow the shellac to dry and she said they had been taped wrong so they had to redo them. That makes no sense since the tape was only to protect the back of the canvas from getting paint on it. The instructors didn't have enough supplies to make an example piece during class either. I asked for the number to corporate and was told that they are a franchise. I then asked for the owners number and was told she couldn't give that info out but could take my number...as all the inconsistencies and half-truths by now I don't expect to hear back. Now both paintings look like dry orange toilet paper that I will drop off at Goodwill if anyone is interested. Don't waste your time (albeit half the actual time allotted) or money!

My daughter and her cousin went here for a small Birthday fun day together. They absolutely loved it. They both painted adorable pottery items with the abundant supplies and help from the amazing staff. They are super organized, clean, and I felt safe having them in there while I shopped around Norterra. I highly recommend this place for a fun teen activity or perhaps a family outing, especially during these COVID times. They take extra precautions for their staff and customers. Keep up the amazing work and Thank you for making my daughter's experience so memorable.
Be the first to ReplyThey are super nice staff.
I came in to paint and they treated me well. I am happy I came here because they taught me so much about painting. It's super fun to do when it's a girls night out!!!
Be the first to ReplyFun times taking my niece and nephew.
Made an appointment very easily online. Nice variety of pottery. They employees are super helpful especially if it's your first time. They have a good variety of paint and brushes as well as tools. It's fun for people of all ages and backgrounds. It takes about 3 days to bake and glaze. Use 3 coats of paint. I definitely will be back sometimes with my niece and nephew again. The only negative was that it was extremely hot in there. So stuffy and warm, it's like they had the heater on full blast.
Be the first to ReplyI had a fantastic experience at this location.
I am going home for the holidays and I wanted to do something special for my grandmother who is unable to leave the house. I thought it would be a nice idea to bring home pottery to her and paint it there. With this last minute idea, I found myself scrambling to the local art craft stores. I was disappointed that I could not find what I was looking for. When I found As You Wish online, I was expecting to find a chain store that wouldn't be able to fit this mission I was trying to complete. Boy was I in for a surprise!Upon walking in I had anticipated a lot of young children, but there were families and even adult groups painting. You could tell that some of the adults were regulares and took their crafting seriously. The atmosphere was very relaxed and even the employees seemed to love their jobs and be very crafty themselves. You could tell that they had a passion for their jobs . I was able to buy some sculptures to take home. The sculpture pieces were not inexpensive but I had expected to pay a certsin amount and their pricing matched my expectations. After explaining my situation to the lovely associate Ryan, she explained to me that I could actually rent out as many paints and art supplies as I needed for a small deposit fee! I was ecstatic to find that my plan was going to come together with the As You Wish team. Ryan even took her time to show me a few painting methods such as one called "bubbling" that I would be able to show to my grandma. She does not have the steadiest hands so it was very nice of her to show me a way to paint that was not very tedious. She went out of her way to show me all of the different supplies that I was able to borrow as well as show me how the colors will look before the "firing' method. Overall I had a fantastic experience. What I thought was going to be the last attempt to my failed grandma and granddaughter day ended up being exactly what I needed and more.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous staff! My daughter and I spent the afternoon here
Fabulous staff! My daughter and I spent the afternoon here this past Saturday painting a platter for a wedding gift and a bunch of additional items for teacher gifts. Everyone was super helpful and always nice. We could not have had a better experience. This is a looooong drive from our house but worth it over the closer Desert Ridge location that is overcrowded and employed by less than friendly people some of the time.

I always enjoy my time at As You Wish! I generally go with a group of people and they always mail in coupons to cover the sitting fee for the group. It's fantastic! Prices are good, staff is awesome!
