Auberge de la Gare Bourg-en-Lavaux Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent experience, solo traveler
I had the pleasure of staying at the hotel for 2 nights before traveling to meet up with friends in Spain. I had dinner one night and was so impressed. The staff was incredibly polite, despite my horrible attempts at French. The Perch was delicious and the staff recommended perfect wine pairings. The lovely porch was perfect to watch the sun go down.
Disappointing place
We went expecting an amazing view and great food. The terrace is nice indeed but it’s surprising very few comments mention the train passing by every 20mn…it really does ruin the experience. Having to stop talking every 20mn while the train passes is not what we expected. The view should definitely not be the reason to come to this restaurant. The food was good (not amazing though) but the service was rather bad. We waited 1h15mn to get our main dishes…when asked about our order, the waiter kept on saying « it’s coming » without even apologizing for the long wait. Net, it was a rather disappointing experience.!

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
