My top 10 London restaurants!
Consistently fantastic food and experience Excellent customer service The chicken Zitoune (special order with chicken thighs) is simply gorgeous 10/10
Be the first to ReplyConsistently good food, reminiscent of flavours from home!
I grew up around the corner from Azou and, as someone from a North African background, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy their food! Their brik (Tunisian street food dish) is generously portioned and a must-try starter (only correct way to eat it is with your hands!). Their couscous is fluffy, tajines are rich and portions filling. You’ll definitely get authentic flavours and good value for money (remember to try the traditional bread ‘galette’)!

Best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Their Constantine tajine - you actually can’t put into words how amazing it is. I was waiting for a friend who was running late but the staff were super friendly and chatty and didn’t mind. They also serve Moroccan beer and wine which was delicious too. Will certainly be back

We went there after a friend recommended this place and we were not disappointed at all! The food was amazing especially the calamari. We are definitely going to come again for the appetizers. Food tried: Appetizer: Baba ganoush, calamari. Mains: Tajine Marrakech, Tajine Zitoune. The chef personally came to each table to check on us. Highly recommend this place if you live in Chiswick.

The food reminded me of eating North African food with family when I was younger. It's a charming spot with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are all very friendly too. Highly recommended for an evening of dinner and drinks!

Lovely decor felt very homely and the food was absolute delicious. Shared lots of starters, delicious mains. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing Dining Experience at Azou Restaurant
We had a regrettable experience at Azou restaurant. The service was untrained, the lamb quality was poor, and our attempts to communicate our concerns were met with indifference. The environment felt outdated and cold, with low-quality food and inattentive service.

Very warm welcoming and staff were very professional! The food was very tasty. I almost cried because the food was so delicious that I even remember my childhood! Looking forward to visiting again. Thanks. I definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyA perfect meal and perfect service, where do you find that?
A perfect meal, probably the best I had this year. Nice Lamb falling from the bone with a perfect seasoning accompanied by a fresh salad and potatoes. Service was exemplary, when we used a piece of lemon from the salad to put into our table water, they not only noticed but immediately brought us some extra pieces of lemon for the water. A step beyond what I would expect. The restaurant is a bit outside of the city, near Hammersmith, but surely worth the trip. They will see us again.

The food here is excellent especially the king prawn and lamb tagine. Great service as well with good recommendations for what to order

Quite simply the finest North African restaurant in town. Look no further for an amazing refined cuisine, full of rich and wisely arranged mix of savours. Tajines, Couscous and Mechouis are so tasteful that it’s hard to only pick one from the generous menu ! The chef Chris has brought together a team that contributes to a rare vibe and peaceful ambience. A warm and friendly place to go back to anytime of the day !! And don’t forget the baklava for dessert, an absolute gem ! Oh oui !

Amazing gem in the ❤️ of Chiswick. A true tagine experience lead by the one and only Chef Chris. What a host. He made our night amazing from checking all the time if we are enjoying his amazing dishes to even having a cup of tea with us at the end. I highly recommend this place

Beautiful little restaurant with North African atmosphere and really tasty food. Loved the slow cooked lamb, full of flavours thanks to the spices used in their traditional kitchen. We didn't have space for desserts but will certainly come back to try some more dishes!
Be the first to ReplyNorth African cuisine so good your mother in-law will love it and so will your wedding guests!
I accidently discovered this little gem while on a stroll in Chiswick in 2006 and the food, amazing staff and the wonderful cheeky chap that runs the place,Chris, have always made it a worthwhile evening. As a Native North African, it was always hard to find restaurant food that comes close to home cooked cuisine from back home; Azou with it's cozy ambiance serves up dishes with the love of a homecooked meal coupled with the refined delicate flavours of a Michelin star restaurant. I have always enjoyed every meal at Azou, I even took my Mrs on a date there and she liked it so much she took her mom (a North African lady who refuses to eat anything from outside) and she loved it so much we ended up having our wedding dinner here. The food was great (as always) but beyond feeding the hungry guests, we want to thank Chris and his team for helping create one of our most cherished memories. We will be back as always.

Ate here last night, we had a gift voucher from red letter days. Made to feel very welcome, and the food was delicious, good portion sizes and very tasty. Really recommend, I'll be going back!

A birthday dinner for 4 of us. It was absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent the chef came out and chatted to us and the hospitality was second to none. We felt really welcome. The food was so delicious. We were recommended to have rice with some dishes , bread with others and it was just right. The decor is very North African, really beautiful and all very comfortable. We had a great evening!
Be the first to ReplyService and food are good
The food and service are good. The downside was the ambiance. It’s very quiet. Felt like a library. It’s also quite dark.

I write this review at the time of our second visit as this place deserves a review. I have been to Marrakesh, and this place brought me back in time. Ambiance, flavours and owner. We had the bastilla, chaoucouska and lamb that I highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back again.

I recently visited with my (Algerian) Dad, Kader after having done lots of research into where to find the best Algerian food in London. We were blown away - the food was wonderful and Chris was a phenomenally kind and understanding host. We had such a brilliant time and will definitely be back next time my Dad is in town and most likely before that. Merci beaucoup Chris - à la prochaine fois!

Really nice atmosphere. You feel the character of the Restaurant from the moment you step through the Door, but wait till you taste the food. A journey of taste sending me back to Marakesh. Cudos to you all. Will be back
Be the first to ReplyMy bday at Azou
I decided to celebrate the evening of my birthday here as it was highly recommended by people I know with very good taste. It couldn’t have been better. They were flexible with the booking time, moved us to a bigger table and even brought me a dessert/cake for my bday. The dish with lamb was delicious! Thank you for making this a memorable night for me and my partner.

My husband is Algerian and has raved about this restaurant for years since he lived in London. After 5 years (& a pandemic) we made our way to London from California and he made sure we checked out Azou.
The food here is incredible, the ambiance is beautiful and the staff are very friendly.
My recommendations:
Start with the sardines, brik, bourek, and the bastilla (the combination of the meat and the sweetness of the cinnamon is such a wonderful taste)
Entree: Tajine zitoune (I love olives) and couscous royale (merguez, the lamb sausages are my absolute fav)
We loved it so much that before going back to Los Angeles, California we made another reservation 🤤
My favourite Algerian restaurant in the UK!
I used to come to this amazing restaurant back in the day when I was living in London. My wife and I came for a visit to UK from the States and I wanted her to try some Algerian food and again, this restaurant didn't disappoint!
Service was outstanding. They make sure that every table is taken good care of and they're very friendly.
Food wise, now let me tell you something, literally everything on the menu is delicious! I'm originally from Algeria so I know Algerian food.
We both loved it so much that we made another reservation for the day before we fly back to California.
You really can't go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu but I would highly recommend the Brick, the Bourek, the sardines, The couscous Royal and the Tagine with Olives.
Oh and their desserts are also delicious, go for the ktayef.
Can't wait to go back again in a couple of days.
