One of my absolute favorite spots in NYC! The ambiance is perfect... you have the feel that you jumped back to the 1920s. Our drinks were fantastic as well! Definitely recommend

Very cool prohibition era speakeasy with a gin focused cocktail menu. If you like gin, you have to check it out! My friend and I decided to check it out because we had time to kill before our dinner reservation nearby. I wish we had more time because there were so many interesting gin & tonic variations. We did not have reservations for Bathtub but managed to grab the standing table by the door. I got the BAYAB ORANGE AND MARULA GIN and it was delicious! Cool vibe and nice decor. Would definitely go back!

Step Back in Time at Bathtub Gin Bathtub Gin is not just another speakeasy; it's a captivating journey back in time, where the ambience and style of the Prohibition era come to life in the most delightful way possible. While speakeasies may sometimes feel gimmicky, Bathtub Gin captures the essence of these clandestine cocktail lounges with an authenticity that's simply infectious. Stepping into Bathtub Gin is like stepping into a bygone era of clandestine revelry. The atmosphere is brimming with charm and intrigue, making it the perfect spot for a memorable date night or a fun evening out with friends. And let's talk about the giant bathtub in the middle of the room - it's not just decor, it's an invitation to indulge in some playful antics once you're nice and toasty. The service at Bathtub Gin is top-notch, with staff who are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely enthusiastic about crafting the perfect cocktail experience tailored to your preferences. Whether you're a seasoned cocktail aficionado or a curious novice, they're happy to offer recommendations that suit your taste. Now, let's talk cocktails - the real stars of the show. I had the pleasure of trying the S'mores Old Fashioned, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of phenomenal. Each sip revealed layers of infusion that elevated it from a mere cocktail to a truly special experience. The Tin Pan Alley Punch was another standout - a unique tiki drink that packed a punch of flavor and creativity. And of course, no visit to Bathtub Gin is complete without sampling their gin & tonic, featuring gins from all over the world. In addition to the outstanding cocktails, Bathtub Gin also offers excellent food options that perfectly complement your libations. The truffle fries and beet and blackberry salad both hit the spot, providing a delightful accompaniment to a few drinks in you. Bathtub Gin is more than just a speakeasy; it's an immersive journey into the world of craft cocktails, vintage charm, and delectable cuisine. From the moment you step through the door to the last bite of your meal, you're transported to a time of clandestine indulgence and playful sophistication. With excellent service, exceptional cocktails, and delicious food offerings, Bathtub Gin is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable night out in town.
Be the first to ReplyIf you enjoy the atmosphere of a 1920's speakeasy, great
If you enjoy the atmosphere of a 1920's speakeasy, great music, and a gin lover like myself... then Bathtub Gin is an easy choice. The place feels yummy, a necessary departure from the hustle and bustle of New York City streets. Me and friend descended on Bathtub Gin one Friday evening after partaking in a delicious early dinner in the Meat Packing district. The place was full but soon after a few patrons left we were welcomed in and found a great place to stand at the top of the bar. We eagerly watched the Burlesque show and we sipped the tastiest gin cocktails. After the last performance, we tried the s'mores dessert equipped with a small grill to put some char on the marshmallows. All and all we had a blast and can't wait to return.

Unsure how this place gets less than five stars but this is one of the dopest speakeasies in NYC! Came for the first time in 2019 with friends and had a blast. Revisited this past year with me wife, friend, and his fiance and had a blast! Dark inside but add's to the atmosphere! And there's literally a bath tub in the middle of the room! Love the drinks there! Those espresso martinis are DANGEROUSLY GOOD! Service is usually okay. It's packed sometimes so I feel their attitudes reflect that lol
Be the first to ReplyCool decor but service is bad and drinks aren't very good
Cool decor but service is bad and drinks aren't very good by NY standards. Not bad but not good either. It's also one of those places that's full of itself. We had reservations, but the bouncer was smug and made us wait outside 5-10 minutes while the coat room opened. Then once we got in, we had to wait more at the bar but no bartender was available to take a drink order while we waited for the seat we reserved. Waitress wasn't very attentive when we did sit down although it was busy, so I get it. We didn't like the drinks though. The decor and menus and stuff are cool though :)

Had a really good time here, and was a little sad that I went only for one drink while my dinner reservation was ready. The drink menu had a lot of intriguing options and got to try some of my friends drinks, they where ALL GOOD. Its very chill and not that big, with great music and the friendliest staff. Recommended 100%

Always a great place to grab cocktails. Be sure to make reservations.

We went to this fun Speakeasy with a reservation at when they open for the evening. At the magic hour, a staff will come out and let you in a group at a time. Through a secret door, a whole different world opens up before you. Dim lights and romantic antique decor, you are transported to the twenties. And true to their name, they have a bathtub in there. You can take all sorts of fun pictures with, in, or around this beautiful clawfoot bathtub. We sure did! For drinks, we each ordered a different cocktail. We got Giggle Juice, a mystery cocktail with egg white, Porter's Tropical Old Tom Gin, and Bombay Premier Cru Gin & Matcha. Giggle Juice was very pineapple-y. Sweet but not overly sweet, tropical and fruity. So tasty! My husband loves a cocktails with egg white on top, so he asked about it. Our server recommended a cocktail that they can make, but not on the menu. It was really great! Porter's Tropical Old Tom Gin was nice and tropical, refreshing, and with a little kick. Bombay Premier Cru Gin & Matcha had a nice hint of matcha flavor, but not so present. This one was elegant, fruity, and so tasty! They sure make amazing cocktails here!! For food, we ordered a few items to share. Truffle Agnolotti, Royale with Cheese, and Oysters Rockefeller. They were all amazingly delicious! We enjoyed them all so much, and the portion size was pretty nice too. Totally shareable. We were super happy with the quality, flavor, and the portion. We then ordered BTG Espresso Martini and S'mores Old-Fashioned, we of course enjoyed both cocktails so much! We also added a couple of dishes, Wedge Salad and Shrimp Toast. We were once again amazed at how tasty they were, happily surprised! Since were having such an amazing time here, we decided to get some desserts to end the evening. We ordered NYC Cheesecake which was not your average cheesecake, and yes, delicious! The second item was Affogato, that came in a tea cup which was adorable, and then last but not least, S'mores, which was a real deal, make-your-own-S'mores experience. It was so much fun! Who knew you could roast your own marshmallow in a speakeasy??? This place rocked! We had a massive fun time here. The service was friendly, efficient, and we were always taken well care of. Once thing to note, the gratuity of 20% was added to our bill, which we were more than happy to oblige. The manager made sure that we were aware of it, so that we don't add another 20%. Very considerate. All the drinks and food we had were really good, we were all happy and full. We would definitely go back for more fun time in the future!

I'm not sure why the reviews are so mixed here, but I thought the place was better than I imagined.Loves:+ Amazing drinks. Def have to try their signature espresso martini but their other drinks are lovely+ Speakeasy vibes and nice touches like the newspaper-style menu+ Knowledgeable and nice staff+ The bathtub itself is a photo moment. Don't be nervous, get your photo!I highly recommend making a reservation and they are fortunately easier to get here than elsewhere, especially if you book a few days in advance. Please also note that most reservations adhere to a two-hour time limit which makes sense to be fair to other reservations.Good luck and enjoy the delicious cocktails! You're in for a treat.

Thank you for make we wait 30 minutes under rain, we was inside with 4 tables opened and we asked for sit with our friends, your hostess Lyn say we can go in another bar for join, but not in this one, and just for point it up it's my birthday, thank you so much again.
Be the first to ReplyThis is such a lovely speakeasy.
I've been a couple of times- the first almost 10 years ago and the second, about a month ago. The first time I went I was so excited because I pretty new to the speakeasy concept and Bathtub was only the second one I had ever visited. I've been to several in the last decade since and this is still absolutely adorable. I made a reservation for 915p but still had to stand in line for a while, in the drizzle. The doorman was legit just doing his job, but I was admittedly annoyed as I watched other people walking in and 915p had passed. We still got in around 925p, checked coats and were sat at a high top across from the bar. Upon entering my hand ran along the shoulders of someone talking to one of the tables, we smiled at each other. Shortly after sitting down, he came over and to see if we met, we hadn't, but it turned out he is the manager and was completely wonderful the entire night. I came with a date that I didn't really know so on my way to the bathroom, I asked them not to bring my drink until I returned and he took noted and mentioned he would keep an eye out. Let's all keep in mind that is totally not his job, but it was so beyond appreciated. Sadly these days, it takes a village to stay safe. The drinks, BTW, were delicious. The live music was amazing and the vibe was cool for a date because if that didn't go well, you would've still had a good time with everyone else around you. Bathtub is cheaper than some of the other speakeasies I've frequented, which I appreciate. Upon leaving and waiting in line to get our coats, the doorman and I joked about my earlier impatience and it was pretty funny. It would be absurd to not recommend Bathtub- definitely go. It's fun. :)

1. At the entrance the guy didn't allow me in as he needed to go inside and check with someone else if I had a reservation. It's okay that it was raining outside. The guy also took his time. Like five minutes:2. Once I got inside, the house girl asked me for my name and reservation time despite I'd already told the guy.3. The music is ridiculously loud. It's impossible to talk. Like for real impossible.4. When you are leaving, you can't put your coat inside. The entrance guy will kick you out. Who cares that it's still raining heavily.Absolute. 100%. Disappointment.Ruined night

So this is another hard to find speakeasy if it wasn't for the line outside. Try to get a reservation - as they do get crowded and you may have to wait in line for up to an hour. The cocktails are good, and an eclectic mix of people inside. Cool after dinner hangout
Be the first to ReplyThe service was completely terrible.
We sat at the table for an hour before anyone came and asked us for one drink you want. The owner came and got mad at us for complaining And then they kicked us out.

What a cute place! The dimness of the room with the low light really bump up the atmosphere. Despite not being a fan of gin, I really wanted to check out this place for the vibes and it definitely delivered. The apples a day and smores old fashioned were both hits at the table. We made reservations for pre dinner plans for 2 people for an early saturday evening - by wednesday evening we knew we had two more people joining and we tried to call the place but unfortunately no answer from the staff but when we got there, the staff was more than accomodating to the situation, they let us add the two people but had to cut down the time we were alotted which we were okay with as long as our other friends got to join us. About 35 mins in, the gentleman who was handling reservations told us we can extend our timing - we just had to move to another table which was so kind of him !
Be the first to ReplyCelebrated my friend's bday here last Wednesday.
It was one of the funnest nights out I've had in a long time. The entrance definitely had that speakeasy vibe. The live music was amazing. They did a good job picking songs from different genres of music. I'm a big hip hop guy so I really appreciated their ability to perform some of those songs amazingly well. The vibes were great with most people dancing. The band ended up playing over an hour past the time they were supposed to stop, because of how into it everyone was. The cocktails were also great, and the waiters were attentive, never letting my water glass go empty. I also came to learn that they run the business as sustainably as possible, reusing bottles for various purposes among other things. Jay definitely knows how to run a good speakeasy and I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to have a fun night out.
Be the first to ReplyI've known about this little gem for at least eight years
I've known about this little gem for at least eight years or so now. This was my first burlesque show years ago. I have since came back numerous times for just drinks. They have an extensive drink list and hold so many types of gin it's crazy. I decided to bring my parents to the city while visiting for the burlesque show. Reserved the "Mafia" table for the burlesque show. The manager Mark gave my parents and I some of the best service. He and his staff that were helping that night were all extremely attentive and accommodating. Lonn was our server and he was a walking smile. Pleasure to be able to show my parents an amazing burlesque experience with these guys running the show. The gopher Gimlet was our drink of the night, by far one of the best drinks I've had to date. Ate all dessert type apps for the show, the s'mores was fun presentation. The cookies and milk was delicious, cheese board was really amazing with the chicken pate I believe it was to die for you might need to ask for more bread to not waste the leftovers! Nevertheless I will be returning at multiple points in time and space to the Bathtub Gin!
Be the first to ReplyWe loved this place before the pandemic but tonight left us
We loved this place before the pandemic but tonight left us sick to our stomach literally and underwhelmed. We were one of five or so tables on a Sunday night and we got three appetizers. All were flavorless and covered in too much breading. The fried olives we thought could be a fun thing to try as we never had heard of that. Four pieces came out the size of your hand and I thought Oh okay so it's like a fried dough ball filled with olives? No just one olive in the middle and all bread. The table next to us sent theirs back noticed. We would have loved to order a second round or even a third but no one ever came back to our table. Empty drinks and empty waters most of the experience. The playlist was bizarre. 80s songs like Poison and stuff- maybe a themed night? Would have loved something like more to the speakeasy theme. Their playlist was so short in our time there we heard the playlist restarts again with the same Poison song. There's better places in this neighborhood to spend $100
Be the first to ReplyThe worst cocktails ever, bar none.
Probably my teen would have mixed better given a chance They were so horrible that we had a hoot taking funny face pictures with the drinks we ordered
Be the first to ReplySuch a good date spot.
I was there after work and the ambiance is awesome and the decor is really well thought out. Additionally, not a gin fan, but the drinks here are delicious.

This place is just plain unethical -- we were sitting at the bar and had the misfortune of encountering one of the rudest bartenders in NYC. Following his rude behavior, we decided to tip the guy 5% of the bill. The total bill came out (after tip) at 59$. Today my pending payment was turned into 70$ by them -- this is against basic human trust in the financial system in the USPlease make sure you are covered in this regard and don't use your debit card at this place.
