Came here and again, the building itself is the only thing
Came here and again, the building itself is the only thing that truly impressed me here.My friend suggested this place and I already haven't been wowed by some of her choices and I am starting to lose confidence in her selections of restaurants. Not sure if she's suggesting them because of the view, or the food itself. The hostess Georgia was nice though, I want to say she's a 5 star.As for the waitress, she's Vietnamese and we asked for sparkling water and mind you this is house made sparkling water and even if we're incorrect on the house made part - I have an issue with this sparkling water business. We got poured sparkling water for both of us but even when my cup wasn't even half empty, she kept pouring and pouring and I want to say is this being a great server since she's so attentive or was this a scam so she can charge us two bottles of sparkling water?I think the latter, because when I paid for the bill, I saw two sparkling water charges. It's like no wonder she was so eager to keep pouring and pouring.Besides the water we ordered the following items:Parker house roll, cultured butter, smoked salt - okay, it looked impressive, but it didn't make me want to overindulge on carbs and the butter could have been softer to be more spreadable.Steak & Eggs - chopped beef, avruga caviar, puffed tendon - the only dish worth gettingGrilled tiger prawns, togarashi, yuzu dressing (2pc) - can't suck the heads out of these babies. They tasted like the ocean.Riverine MBS 2+ Flat Iron Riverine 250g - this meat was cooked to medium rather than medium rare. Would have been more enjoyable at medium rare.Lamb ribs, puffed rice & sesame, mustard leaf (3pc) - okay, I blame A for ordering this dish. Lackluster.I was expecting to be wowed by the food, but left annoyed about the sparkling water because I thought that wasn't good business practice and mad about the underwhelming food.
Be the first to ReplyWorst service in the Sydney area.
The people who answer the phone are not even on the ground in the restaurant and useless. Will never ever send an international client there again.
Be the first to ReplyOver hyped and significantly over priced and the first
Over hyped and significantly over priced and the first place in Australia where a waiter actually asked for a tip. Beyond that I would rate the food as only average. It has a lot of curb appeal with lots of beautiful people lining up to go in, but just beware what to expect. Many better options right around the same area.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a lovely anniversary dinner at bea restaurant.
the service was very good we sat on a table right near the water. we had the steak which was really nice and we had three entrees: the calamari was extremely fresh; the prawns were really big and well grilled; and the Barata was very tasty. We also enjoyed a couple of bloody Mary, gin and tonic which my wife said was lovely and a delicious glass of full bodied Shiraz Highly recommended

The staff, service, and food were all amazing. My husband made reservations here for our anniversary. Due to weather the patio had been closed, but we got seated close to the windows, which was still a great view. The weather eventually cleared up and as we ate dinner we saw a spectacular sunset. From the moment we got there the staff were so attentive, professional, friendly and so pleasant. They were extremely accommodating to us. Typically when you dine, you have one server, but throughout our entire dining experience we constantly had different staff members checking in on us. Each person gave spectacular service. Would come back just based off the lovely service. Now, the food. Oh my gosh, I cannot wait to go back. We started off with some bread, butter, and oysters. The bread was warm, soft and delicious and served with hand churned butter sprinkled with black charcoal, I couldn't get enough. I mean who doesn't love butter, especially charcoal butter. We ordered a dozen oysters and they were very fresh and delicious. We were so happy with them, we ordered another dozen. I love oysters, and cannot express how happy and satisfied I was with Bea's. We also ordered the kingfish entree, which was beautiful and delicious, highly recommend as a nice entree. We ended the meal with a delicious 300g scotch fillet, medium rare and melt in your mouth good. Bea has a cute ambiance and decor. They have a really nice range of wines and champagnes and they have a lovely sommelier to help if you have any questions. We went with the Chandon Rose, and tried several other Rosé wines that we were very pleased with. We were too full for dessert but they still gave us a mini dessert and wrote happy anniversary.Needless to say we left feeling a little bubbly and very satisfied. The entire experience was perfect. Thank you for making our anniversary night so special. I highly Recommend Bea, we will definitely be back.
