I finally went to the Beauty and the Butcher last night.
What an exciting restaurant! The food was perfectly balanced, and despite the name, there was plenty for veggies like me and my husband to choose from, while our friends had plenty of fish or meat dishes on offer as well. The vegetarian dishes I ordered absolutely sang. From the almonds to the local lettuces salad to the jerk charred heirloom carrots, everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I'm excited about having a restaurant like this in this part of SouthMiami/Coral Gables. It has been much needed, and if they can keep delivering food like this I imagine it will be here for a while. Please go give it a try if you haven't been yet.

Sunday evening was a great experience! Maybe a bit pricey, but food, drinks, dessert and service were all great!! We really would like this place to succeed to have another great option in Pinecrest/South Miami. Planning dinner at the bar next time! Well done B&B!
Be the first to ReplyI had a bad first impression when i entered the restaurant.
The parfume "to smell good" is so strong and overwhelming, It smells as in a Spa. I could not enjoy the wine because of the excessive smell. The food is new american and you receive nice portions. Please let me know when you reduce the perfume of the restaurant and i will come back.

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. Their cocktail menu has some great options... the presentation for the Little Piggy was really fun. All of the food was exactly what you'd expect from Jeremy Ford: innovative, delicious, fresh. I love that he uses local farms to source ingredients. Our server was really attentive. I have a gluten allergy and was really impressed at how much of their menu I was able to enjoy. The cheese course was insane --- they smoke the cheese at your table which is so freaking cool. Definitely recommend this spot, especially for special occasions. Can't wait to go back!

the cheese service was a standout, as were the cocktails. thank you to our server Jose for his enthusiasm and guidance. this is elevated dining in the heart of the coral gable/south Miami area. a welcome addition to the scene!

Upon entering you find yourself in a dimly lit room with a great vibe. I loved the seating for our group of six sat in these comfy leather booths. We started off with multiple starters with standouts including the iberico de bellota, jalapeรฑo fritters and dry aged crudo. We decided to go for steaks as our main tonight since we brought 3 monster Napa Cabs and the 44oz Wagyu tomahawk was a show stopper. After Chef Jeremy Ford came table side to deliver one of his creations, our wonderful server prepared the feast. Its a great show but the it comes down to the steak. Perfectly cooked, and of high quality. We also decided to go for a special they had, a 50 day 24 oz dry aged bone-in rib eye that was incredible with just the right amount of umami from the whiskey aging process they use. Both steaks went to the bone and both had something different to offer based on your preference. The night ended up with their carrot cake and delicious apple Dutch baby. Overall, while many comments mention the price. I felt the experience, execution and service met my expectations and bill. Highly recommended for a special night. Can cork 3 bottles for $35 each.

we dined at Beauty and The Butcher last night in Coral Gables. The ambiance was lovely and the service was wonderful. However, I must advise that the pricing of the food vs the quality was outrageous. The steak steak, a special, was $177! the problem with this is 1) pricing should be disclosed BEFORE ordering. Since it was a special and the server brought the steaks table side for viewing, the price should have been been clarified; 2) the steak was hard, chewy and rubbery. We also ordered a FLORIDA snapper dish that was priced at $45! Being a Florida native, I am used to paying $25-$30 for such a filet. Additionally, we ordered roasted cauliflower (a very small bowl priced around $26-$28) and a side of roasted potatoes (also tiny and priced similarly). For a table of 4, ordering only 3 entrees and 2 tiny sides, our bill totaled $500 (tip included)!! A WORD TO THE WISE: BE PREPARED TO SPEND ALOT OF MONEY FOR MEDIOCRE FOOD.

This location has had a couple of restaurants so this new restaurant has no Trouble with traffic. We came here on a Thursday night and they were playing old school hip hop/ not what I expected, but I don't mind because I like this genre of music, but the vibe felt a little more Miami, modern/chic and this music didn't seem to match in my opinion. However I do like it- but it might not be for everyone. I do agree with other peoples reviews as a menu is severely high price though obviously they're doing it for a purpose and drawing the clientele they want to come into this restaurant. The food is definitely on the rich/ decent side. Heavy oils, salt, rich so you better be ready to splurge and unbuckle your pants. The wine is very overpriced and the selection is slim, it would be great if they would offer a few boutique wines since they want to be fancy here. Service was great and the manager was walking around, making sure everyone's enjoying their meal- great customer service.
Be the first to ReplyI've never been treated worse at a restaurant.
I was with ten people at a table and in this noisy restaurant on a Saturday night, we were told we were being too loud. We're all in our 40's by the way, we're not a bunch of loud kids. We had to speak with loud voices because the restaurant is so noisy. We were all so offended we left without ordering our food. Their prices are outrageous too, you'd think you were at the finest of restaurants if you just looked at the prices.

STAY AWAY!Over priced, over rated, pompous with a limited menu. I wish I could tell you about how bad the food was however our party of 11 was unceremoniously asked to to " lower our voices" by the pompous condescending restaurant manager. A Miami Saturday night in a small restaurant and I would say that the overall restaurant was loud. The manager came over to our table after we had ordered our first round of drinks and had just paid $300 for 6 tequila shots and $100 for 2 Blanton's drinks at the bar and told us that some of the customers had complained that we were too loud and need to keep it down. Excuse me! What? My first thought was this was a prank but nope..he was serious. He offered to como us a bottle of champagne which we declined. First of all, we were no louder than anyone else. The mgr made a poor decision in handling it and we will tell everyone we know to never go there again. He should have moved the table that complained and offers them the champagne. I feel really bad for the waiter that would have made significant tips on the big table. The end of the story was that we paid the drinks and left the restaurant. We went around the corner to Town and had amazing service and meal. Good luck and look forward to seeing you join all the closed restaurants in Miami.
