This place!!
The service was amazing, the food was fire!! It was our first time spare of the moment. Such a great gem. Definitely my spot now when I come to Reno!!!
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Dinner, but Expensive!!
This is a fabulous restaurant, but bring your credit line with you. Dinner for four of us was well over $600 and we brought our own wine. The service is stellar and the food is delicious. First class all the way, but be sure this is how you want to spend your money. Highly recommend the coconut honey shrimp appetizer. Enjoy!!

Never again! Our steaks had to be eaten in sequence since one steak was horribly over-cooked. Then, we waited for 15 minutes for a replacement by which time the magic was gone. Of importance is that they are also under-staffed. It took too much time to flag down a waiter when we needed assistance such as returning an inedible side dish.

Excellent food, great service , had a good time. Many choices, had a good recommendation for choice of whiskey.
Be the first to ReplyLove those Lobster Mashed potatoes!!
We always hit up the Bimini for a early appetizer run when we are hungry but not enough for a full dinner! Our favorites are Lobster Mashed Potatoes, my husband loves the oysters and I enjoy the coconut shrimp! Sometimes we go there and sometimes we take back to our room. Delicious!
Be the first to ReplyBest Steak of Our Lives!
We both ordered the filet special of the day. Starter with the french bread was superb (we think the best of the 4 types of breads served). All of Peppermill's restaurants so excellent, we could not add an other starter due to insufficient room at the inn(!) Steak was tender and flavorful, not needing a steak knife. The foie gras on top was a superb addition. Mashed potatoes and broccolini were excellent. Unquestionably, the best steak of our lives (and we're >60yo)! Service outstanding and comfortable setting. Definitely will return
Be the first to ReplyA Tale Of Two Cities
I've never been to Reno before and the city itself is definitely a little bit different than its bigger brother Vegas. I think Peppermint is the biggest casino in town (at least that's what it looked like driving through downtown on the highway), but even then, it felt very small compared to the casinos you'd see down south. The casino itself had a kind of Indian casino feeling to it, so it was a nice surprise to visit a nicer steakhouse next to the main floor. The food itself wasn't mind blowing, but I liked the atmosphere. The waitstaff was great and the whole thing was a nice oasis from the rest of the hotel.

Amazing from start to finish! Knowing the challenges the hospitality industry is facing I made dinner reservations expecting a good meal but nothing more - boy was I wrong. Everything was great - we arrived for our 6:30pm reservation about 20 minutes early and were seated immediately. The wait staff promptly dropped water and fresh bread/butter off and let us take our time with the wine list. We opted to share the J. Lohr coravin flight. It was wonderful and the perfect amount and experience for our meal. I had the prime 8oz filet medium and it was perfect. My husband did the strip loin and he said it was the best steak he’d ever had. The sides of creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes were great - though very rich for me. You MUST try the mustard sauce - it was AMAZING. We split the cherry cheesecake which was good but at that point I was just too full. Patrick our waiter was pleasant, knowledgeable and engaged just the right amount. I enjoyed watching the other tables around us that ordered the various table side prepared items. All in all this was just the steakhouse experience I’d been jonesing for.
Be the first to ReplyAll around wonderful!
One of the best aged steaks I have had! Service was more than expected too. Prices are a little high but worth it based on the quality of the meals.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, but terrible service
Our party of three all had great meals. The disaster struck when the waiter (Patrick) decided to hang out at our table and talk to us after serving the food. We all felt obligated to chat at first, but our food was getting cold so my wife and I decided to eat in front of him while he carried on his conversation. Our friend waited around 20 minutes and finally decided to eat her food while the waiter continued to chat with us. The other workers in our area saw what was going on and said they were sorry after he finally left and we asked to take the rest of our food with us because it was now cold.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Steakhouse
Super atmosphere and great, helpful wait staff. Had wonderful Elk Wellington special, after started of beets. Seabass was also excellent. We shared a bread pudding which while uniquely, flavorfully prepped was quite filling.
Be the first to ReplyService was beyond great, but the food was ok-good....
Heartbreaking that I am still on the hunt for the best steakhouse. So far nothing has compared to Harrah’s old steakhouse that we used to frequent. First, hands off to Cami. Can say she is one of the best waitresses we’ve ever encountered. Not only was Cami very friendly, but she was super attentive to our group. She made our Caesar salad and our bananas flambee tableside which is always a nice little treat. That takes me into the food. The steaks were ok-good, but they were not to die for. I will have to say portions for the price was fitting. My friend and I shared a 12 oz filet and it seemed like much more. Although the steak was cooked as we requested (med/rare) it was a little on the chewy/dry side; I was expecting a much more tender delivery. The sides we ordered were mushrooms and root vegetables. Both pretty small and enough to feed 1-2. Tasty but just not enough for $15 each. The Caesar and bananas flambee (not pictured) were both really good. I would come back just bc the restaurant is a nice atmosphere (Peppermill is really nice hotel/casino), and the service was beyond great. The food was alright, but maybe the second visit will be better. Corkage was $30 I think? A bit high for Reno, but cheaper than buying a bottle.
Be the first to ReplyA great place to have a Steak dinner
We have eaten here before and wanted to come back. We both had the Filet and it was great. We started the dinner with a Jumbo shrimp cocktail and it was also very delicious. We had a bottle of Duckhorn wine to complement the dinner. Yes we will be back
Be the first to ReplyHigh level culinary work underpinned by diner level service
First time diner, somewhat odd experience. As a preface, my dinner was for 8:15 on a Tuesday, a time kind of in the tail end of the dinner rush. Firstly, the food is absolutely delicious. It does seem that they have invested quite a bit into the product in the last few years, as the menu is quite upgraded as compared to what I see on TripAdvisor. It’s also the only place I know of in Reno doing dry aged beef, which is a huge plus. My Rossini appetizer was incredible and something I would recommend absolutely everyone trying, my asparagus bisque was a fresh and flavorful intermediate course, and my dry aged ribeye was so intense in flavor I felt I could taste it for an hour after eating it. Truly a great culinary experience. Not impressed with the service however. I will take you through my meal. First impression of the restaurant is that it’s a remodel of a former poolside cafeteria? I can’t see any other reason they would have so many tables with a window view of the swimming pool. Not only is that kind of creepy, but also just gross. Not interested in seeing body hair and cellulite to accompany my dinner, nor do I imagine those pool guests are interested in being spied on. Those curtains should be drawn. I read the menu and find it odd how much legwork the menu does in explaining things that would traditionally be the responsibility of the server. Everything from explaining what certain ingredients are to recommending temperatures for steaks. Whether this idea is meant to educate Reno diners who are not particularly fine dining oriented I am unsure, but it comes across as tacky. First time I see my server is almost 10 minutes after seating. When he quickly seems ready to excuse himself from the table again, I suggest I’m ready to order so that I don’t have to repeat this waiting period. This long initial wait probably prevented him from ever really being able to engage with me as a diner, as we never got to discuss the menu or any specials for the evening. My wine is served in a carafe with no bottle presentation performed, and the vintage, region, and varietal are not mentioned in the service. Fortunately, it’s a wine I was familiar with and I could assure it was correct on my own. My appetizer and soup are served simultaneously, and I have to choose which one to allow to get cold while I enjoy the other. I’m not sure if this is standard or just a servers way of trying to get me in and out quickly. For the remainder of the dinner everything was great. I did put in my reservation notes that it was a birthday celebration but no members of the staff acknowledged that, and I’m not particularly the type to shoehorn it into the service just to find out if they do anything for celebrations. I ordered a dessert, and just for my own curiosity I asked my server what was on the chocolate pieces around the dessert. He said I don’t know, let me check with the kitchen. They were very clearly dried cranberries, and so I suggested to him they might be dried cranberries and he said “I don’t know, maybe…”. Impressive. From subpar wine service at the beginning to subpar dessert service at the end, I just don’t think it’s right that the kitchen should be producing such great food while their team dedicated to representing it to the guest can’t answer the very simplest question about it. And in a final blow, one of the staff members uninvolved in my dinner was angrily and vulgarly swearing about something as he sped past. Don’t know about what, but regardless that is truly unprofessional to be doing in the middle of your guests. Now to be honest, it’s disappointing truly because I heard other servers at other tables giving great and detailed service. I really don’t know what to make of my experience. I will reiterate though, the food left nothing to be desired. It really was perfect. Despite all of this, I was impressed enough with the food that I would consider trying it again on another far away occasion to see if my experience changes.

I really enjoyed my experience at Bimini's. My stake was perfect along with the potatoes and Brussels sprouts. We topped off our dinner with a smoky old fashion, which they make for you at your table. Our server was named Patrick (and if you ever go request his section) his service was impeccable, he explained everything to us and he was always checking up on us to make sure our evening was a memorable one, and it was. This place is a "must try" you won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommend. Fantastic food and service.
Fantastic evening. Food and service excellent. Portions are large and beautifully presented. The servers work as a team which is really impressive and effective. Knowledge staff. Steaks are excellent. I had the prime rib and it was delicious. The drinks here are also awesome and they have some signature cocktails that they make right at your table. Highly recommend for a special evening.
