Bon Shabu Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Very expensive shabu for the relatively low quality
Very expensive shabu for the relatively low quality selection at $42. Everything was chuck, chuck, roll, belly this, and that. Swai fish is offered but Swai is the lowest quality fish you can buy with little to no flavor at all. I understand food costs are at an all time high thanks to our lousy elected officials, but Bon Shabu needs to add at least one decent cut of meat that isn't $4.99 a lb or less on the market. They stock the bar with cheap fried foods and onions rings to get you full. The vegetable selection is weak. Offering fairly standard vegetables without much variety. They don't have carrots or broccoli. Their sauces are bland, except for the house special which is good but not great. Your $42 menu is the lowest of low quality meats, and that isn't acceptable. Service was about average. Not bad, not great- just middle of the road. If you like mediocre food at a high price, you will love this place.
Good food.
Good food. Good food. Good food. All four people I was with agree, there is good food here. Good food, god please Bon Shabu. Good food.
This place is so good! Definitely my favorite! Super clean
This place is so good! Definitely my favorite! Super clean and bright atmosphere. Service is attentive and professional. The food is delicious and fresh. If I could I would eat here everyday. I do wish they would turn the music down a little bit when it isn't busy.
First time trying hot pot and this was the perfect place!
First time trying hot pot and this was the perfect place! Meat was amazing, fresh seafood, amazing veggies really good hot bar in case you get hangry waiting for your soup like i was, also complimentary popsicles! Really wanna come back here Also really nice servers very accommodating
Quality meat.
You'll be surprised for the money you pay. Clean and nice inside the restaurant. Great staff. Different class compared to other AYCE Shabu places.
We had a good time eating dinner.
They have a nice selection of appetizer / warm food along with veggies and sauces. For 3 people we were able to chose 4 broths. The spicy original and the bone broth were fantastic. They have lots of veggies and seafood but did not have lobster ball. You don't order things like gyoza and pancakes - the buffet had chicken wings etc. Tables and spacing were nice and spacious. Parking lot is $5 on weekends after 5 pm. Service is fast make a reservation and there's no wait. We did regular instead of wagyu and liked 2,3 and 4 a lot tender and good portions.

I ordered wagyu selection, It's not worth the money, I really didn't like the service. Too annoying. Food was fine but just not my type. It was too blend and not sweet. I thought elderly people would prefer here. I felt it was too blend anyway. I wish there were more sauce choice. Atmosphere and interior was great.

Food is great, service is awesome! Will be coming back for sure. Recommended to anyone who enjoys hot pot
I love shabu and have been to "Bon Shabu" twice already.
This is my favorite shabu restaurant when in LA. I say it is a "restaurant" because the attentive, friendly service, quality of food, decor and cleanliness are all five big stars! The selection of meat is very high quality including wagyu, and the vegetables and seafood are all very fresh. Beware of the appetizers as they all taste good. They have delicious Korean side menu; japchae, spicy pork, bulgogi, dukkbokki, dumplings, calamari, fried chicken, dukkbokkii, spicy crab, spring rolls, etc. and dessert! all time favorite shabu spot!

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
