Bouchon is a must when around Rockefeller.
Their macarons are light and crisp the way you dream a macaron to be. When you bite in, the shells cracks the way only a good macaron would. The lines were a bit long because it was around Christmas, so anything around Rockefeller is expected to have a minimum 20+ person line. They have such a wide variety of flavors. Their coffee is also the type of treat that makes you feel bougie. They are a must when on a trip to NY but especially around the Christmas season!

..but it's REALLY GOOD! ... I'll definitely go again and hopefully it's just as good so as to justify the cost
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite bakery in yountville.
We usually stay at the hotel across the street and walk over to the bakery in the morning. There is always a long line but it is worth the wait. I love everything there. Their macaroons are to die for and I still haven't found another bakery that even comes close to bouchon's macaroons. You will not be disappointed!

Anytime i'm in the city, I stop by and stock up just before a flight. The croissants here are perfection. A note however this place is not for the ambiance - you're coming in here to pick up things and leave. It's super packed all the time. But then again, it's Thomas Keller.
Be the first to ReplyStopped by after lunch to pick up some coffee and dessert.
I ordered a small iced latte with almond milk and a cheese danish and my coworker ordered a cremepuff with her latte The latte was just what I needed as a mid-day pick-me-up. Latte was strong and flavorful, just to my liking. We split our pastries in half once we got back to the office so we can try each other's. Personal opinion: cremepuff was much better than the cheese danish. There was a salted caramel inside the creme-puff too. Yum! Would come back to try other desserts too!

Good latte, good cookie, but not the friendliest staff. Oh well...it's New York!
Be the first to ReplyVery bad experience, unfortunately.
Long slowly moving line to place the order; extremely long waiting time to get order and horrible customer service when you found out, that the order was wrongly taken. Do not feel I will ever come back or recommend to anybody. ;-(

Had Bouchon bookmarked and didn't realize how close it was to my hotel so I had to visit. I walked there but it is a busy area given Rockefeller plaza & street parking nearby won't happen although I saw a few cars double parked in front. They have a good selection of pastries, cakes, bread and coffee. Ordered the Chocolate and Almond Croissants. Also, a Chocolate Macaron. Croissants were excellent! Flaky, buttery goodness. The Macaroon was very close to the ones we had in Paris. Service was okay. Spacious inside with outdoor seating. Looks like it would be fun in the summer. Definitely worth a stop when visiting the area!

So disappointed! Their chocolate almond croissant was our go to treat whenever we stopped there, but now they have changed the filling. It used to be oozing with almond paste and now any resemblance to almond in the new eggy filling is next to impossible to discern! What are they thinking. I know almond paste is expensive, I'm a baker but this tastes terrible! Also the coffee has not been hot the last few times we were there. We will not be back!

Now I have collected two of my Bouchon visits: Napa and Manhattan. Like its California sibling, this one is near perfect. The croissant was flaky, soft inside, and just the right buttering. The bacon scone was to die for. The apple tart was so delicious! The almond cake was good, but comparatively less impressive.I forgot where they get their coffee from, but the Americano was as good as any high-end café.I don't know why this place was not packed to the brim.
