Be sure to make reservations! We were staying at the hotel and had to wait a long time to just get a seat at the bar as a table would have taken even longer. They seemed to be short of help as there were tables in the bar they could have served dinner but did not. Nice menu and bar menu. We're not bourbon drinkers but there's a wall of all kinds of bourbon in all price ranges. Our food was excellent and very generous portions.

We came here on the last night as a special treat to end our 4 night stay at sycuan which had been wonderful. Until we decided to eat here there was a major mistake with my husbands order he wanted the New York strip off the bone at 48 dollars instead he was served the on the bone at 61 dollars he queried it straight away but the waiter insisted it was served on the bone it also came blue not medium rare and they forgot his sauce too. I had the lobster pasta which the lobster was overcooked and the pasta under cooked the whole meal was a disaster nobody checked back to see if we wanted more drinks either and we had to wait a long while to get the bill . Then to add insult to injury when we checked the bill when we got back to the room and saw they had charged us for the bone in strip we went back down to query it with the manager. He said he would sort it expecting a refund but know he just took a small amount of the tip !!! But we now see we have 2 transactions for this meal one which has gone through and 1 pending !!!! Wish we had gone to the viewpoint upstairs where we ate mostly amazing service and food and no issues which we highly recommend and will review separately on sycuan. Check your bill and make sure your order is read back correctly to you but seriously not worth the money .

Gracious greeting, nice seating and good eating. The restaurant manager greeted us at the entrance very politely and professionally then walked us back to our party that was already seated. He pulled the chair out for my lady friend and said he would let our Server know that our party was all sat and offered to answer any inquiries we may have - I took him up on the offer to ask about some of the favorite meal items and his recommendation for a good Cabernet - we were impressed with how well he knew the menu and honestly we all basically ordered his favorites without disappointment. Wedge salads started us off right and I hadnโt heard of Groth Cabernet prior to his recommendation but this was a great bottle suggestion and it paired so well with the porterhouse that I ordered and my friendโs filet. The rest of the party all got the ribeye that he said was the house favorite and biggest seller. Prior to departing my whole party wanted to pay our respect to this gentleman that checked in on us and who we all saw going from table to table and stamping smile after smile on the guests. He graciously thanked us and walked us out. The menu is simple but good, the staff was helpful energetic but this manager is the reason why our experience was nearly perfect. We will be back to see him and canโt wait to see the incredible new menu that he spoke about. Itโs very clear that he loves his place. Thank you all!

Simply put, I was underwhelmed by everything at Bourbon and Bull. My $54 T-bone steak looked and ate like a steak from a Value Pack at a local grocer. 1/2" thick, a bit tough, and salty. The sides I ordered were just as underwhelming. My wife's hangar steak came out raw and was sent back to get cooked. Was not offered dessert and there was none on the menu either. (They did have some nice dessert options, but were not offered to us.-ended up ordering cheesecake at the bar) All in all, I was reminded more of a Sizzler from my childhood, then of a nice steakhouse. The staff was nice. I feel bad leaving a poor experience review, but it was what it was.

Incredible atmosphere, attention to detail, and amazing food. I do however honestly believe the service was superior in the Viewpoint Restaurant in the same hotel, we ate their 4 times. We were celebrating a special occasion that was never acknowledged by any of the staff which was disappointing. While the service was good overall, it lacked the professionalism of the many other fine steakhouses we have dined in. A really unfortunate mistake on the staffs part put a damper on our special evening. We charged the bill to our room and had to take a photo of the final bill because we were not given a copy for us to keep, as we were leaving the restaurant the server ran after us and made a commotion that was no copy of the bill in the folder. It was absolutely signed and left in the folder and we insisted we left it there. She said it is NOT in the folder and for us to wait there and DO NOT leave. It was humiliating. I followed her as she went back to our table and then saw her pick up the bill in the middle of the dining room floor about 8 feet from our table. She picked up the bill and turned to me and said "Oh sorry one of my co-workers picked up the bill for me. " I should have talked to a manager but again we were celebrating a special occasion and we just wanted to leave and try and enjoy the rest of our evening.
Be the first to ReplyMediocre food, prices mid range
Personally, I think for the price, this place was not worth it. Friendly employees and food is so-so. Not memorable & wished we had skipped it

The prices are high as with any high-end steak house. Our servers were friendly but got a little less attentive towards then end when they had more customers to contend with. We had a good meal. The food quality was good. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly which should be a given when you are paying from $50-$150 for a steak. We shared an appetizer, a steak, one side and a bottle of nice wine and were fully satisfied. My advice would be to not over order as the prices are steep and the steak is filling. Also when at a steak house, order the steak. :)

The wife and I celebrated my birthday here at the Bull and Bourbon, had an excellent waitress by the name of Vanessa who made sure our evening was the best. We ordered the steak and lobster special with the double over bake potato and fired Brussel sprouts. Man...the grand shell special, what a platter of seafood. The steak came out perfect juicy and delicious. The tastes were over the top. Canโt say enough about the foods and desserts. Did I mention Vanessa, she was very friendly and tentative to us. Thanks!!!

Ambience is nice and relaxing but with a sophisticated feel. The bar is welcoming and comfortable. We ordered 3 apps, Ox tail ravioli, meatballs, and lobster spinach artichoke dip. The meatballs were juicy and really tasty, the lobster spinach artichoke dip was AMAZING! Really good size chunks of lobster!! Ask for some bread to dip in the marinara, good stuff! Had a dirty martini from Sean the head bartender, fantastic! So smooth, love the olives. The ox tail ravioli was good but not super impressive. The friends with benefits (spicy marg) is really spot on! Not sweet, good kick, great heat! Overall we will be back! Oh, and the New York cheesecake is really really good, great rec by the manager Russel! Cheesecake is my favorite cake so this one is 100% approved! We appreciated the hospitality from the GM Chris!
