Update: As of October 31st--- this wonderful BBQ eatery is CLOSED!!! Another victim of the aftermath of COVID restrictions, supply chain issues, and the shortage of the labor force.

Some of the absolute best BBQ I've had outside of the Carolinas. Phenomenal flavors, portions are great and the staff is awesome as well!! I'll DEFINITELY be back! Their SC mustard sauce... I could drink the stuff! Hard to find a place that does fried okra right and they nailed it!!
Be the first to ReplyBurnt ends are amazing! Fries are so crispy.
Toasted veggies, yummy! Don't care for any of their sauces.

This place was everything I was craving in a BBQ spot and more. The people were VERY friendly and helpful. Not one bad, or even mediocre thing on my plate.
Be the first to ReplyMeat is delicious & juicy.
..perfection! Just a tip: if you get a sandwich "to-go" just make sure you tell them to separate the bread from the meat or it will be soggy before you can enjoy it.

The postives are that they are open 7 days a week, and the lady working there was really nice. The place is really clean too. Things fell down when I had to wait about 40 minutes when quoted 15, and had to pay $48 with tax and tip for 2 very disappointing sandwiches, one extra side and 1 drink. I ordered lean brisket sandwiches and both were served with disgusting fatty grisly pieces making it gross. The burnt end style of chopped, dried out, burnt, fatty, and grisly meat just didn't work for me. Sauces were decent and sides were ok, but basically everything except the bbq sauce and buns was not as good as the competition a block or two North. It's the details all the way down to no fresh brewed ice tea that made this a big disappointment when the competition seems to do almost everything better, including serving much better quality sandwiches in a fraction of the time. I appreciate the longer hours, but don't appreciate the slow preparation for expensive disappointing food. They apologized for the long wait but the poor sandwiches after all that time, not meeting the order request, well that made it a disaster of a meal.

The BBQ here is authentic Texas BBQ and as good as the best in Texas. We had the brisket and pork belly and both were moist and delicious! We chose the potato salad and coleslaw for sides, also delicious. They had a variety of BBQ sauces to use, if desired, but traditional Texas BBQ doesn't require sauce to be delicious, and the meat served here is no exception.

The. Brisket was fragrant and tasty the burnt ends too fatty for us.Cole slaw good and sweet potato fries fantastic. Generous portions make the price tag worthy two of us shared a large 3 meat plate. We will be back on a hungry day!

3 year update: A lot has changed! Collard greens and Mac were insanely good, brisket burnt ends were perfect, no complaints at all. Great work!

This is only the third or fourth true bbq restaurant have been to and this isn't the type of Texas bbq place i expected. Have been to bbq places in Texas and this is much different ambiance. Inside restaurant was very nice and clean and crisp looking, while great, is definitely not what expected. The food itself was ok. Brisket pull apart tender, burnt ends were so juicy and most. I felt brisket, while was juicy, it tasted dry, maybe just me and not having had it in a long time. There was a larger party when got there but was Easter so after they left quieted down. Pretty nice, not sure if will be back but had good time.
Be the first to ReplySimply damn good 'que.
Best I've every had, no, but it doesn't need to be to keep coming back. It's great food, from a clean place, run by friendly people. It's about a 30 minute drive for me to get there from Blaine (1 hour round trip), yet I keep going back. That should tell you all you need to know. My favs are the sausages (both varieties) and the house made pickled veggies. I haven't tried anything that wasn't good. Best part is every member of my family is happy when we order there, not many places can I say that is true for. If you're looking for 'que in the upper NW corner of the state, look no further.
Be the first to ReplyOMG, this place has some amazing BBQ.
Burnt Ends has some unique and fun atmosphere, that is interesting to look at but no overwhelming. With a wide variety of delicious options to pick and choose from, you'll find a difficult time narrowing down what to get. Personally, I like to get the 2 meat serving and turn my meal into my own personal cookout.

Great Mac and Cheese. The grilled collard greens taste like jet exhaust at the end of the runway at SeaTac 3 hours later. The pork belly burnt ends were just burned, not soft or savory. The brisket was ok at best - something I can easily make at home in my electric smoker. Cornbread and Mac were the highlights - my wife had the ribs, not good or juicy. Did I mention this is a BBQ joint? Yeah, I did. Did I say the BBQ items were good? Nope. Save your money and time - avoid. If you're up north in Lynden or Everson on Wednesdays, stop at JTs Smokin BBQ truck for some real and tasty brisket. Sorry Burnt Ends - your hype doesn't match you food. We won't be back. Threw out our leftovers.(I'm being kind.)
Be the first to ReplyWhen they first opened Burn Ends was good.
Meat was done right & sides were good. We went yesterday & were really disappointed. I ordered the brisket (I bbq & do a LOT of smoking myself), it had NO SMOKE RING at all, was extremely over cooked and dry. I had to assume it was microwaved and overcooked. The pork belly burnt ends were ok, but again no true smoke flavor; covered is a sauce to mask the lack of a proper smoke. The mac & cheese was barely warmed. The potato salad was off in taste, a lot of vinegar maybe? The beans were good & hit the spot. We were the only ones in the place and yet it took 20 mins to get our food? Overall the meal was far from what you'd expect from a place that claims to do everything in-house. I have to wonder if they've changed ownership? I'll just have to stick to what I can do myself at home and only go to a place that is what it is advertised to be. I really wanted to like them still, as smoking takes a long time & it is great to have a go to bbq place when you don't have the time.

Come for the BBQ but don't forget the mac and cheese! It's so yummy. This place is so good people drive out of their way for it. We've been getting our food to go and they always keep the hot stuff hot, and cold stuff cold, until we arrive.

This place is full of flavor! Some of the best bbq I've had in awhile. I knew I had to try it when I saw the one bad review saying the meat had too much flavor who says that?! Anyways, fried chicken was moist and crunchy, the pork belly burnt ends was so succulent and sweet. The real star was the ribs - honestly, best I've ever had. They fell off the bone and the bark was just out of this world. Also, I loved the greens, they were different! Very smoky and had the perfect butter note that you want to balance all richness of the meat. Well done!

Food is great no doubt but the service the other day has much to be desired. Ordered food several days ahead of time for a birthday party. When my 75yr old father drive 30 minutes to pick up the food in the pouring rain they were closed. This was a Monday. No one bothered to call or notify them they were closing. So the following day my mother called to find out why this happened and the gentleman that answered said oh sorry and acted as if it was no big deal.

Great food, excellent bbq and nice service and atmosphere as I stayed there in between appointments as I was visiting from out of town. Recommend

This is some heavy hitting BBQ for the area - I've been a few times over the last year and have had really consistently quality meat every time. The brisket and ribs are legit; if you opt for sauced ribs, you'll be happy they aren't overly drenched and the dry ribs are done really well. The brisket burnt ends are flavor packed, although sometimes too fatty for my taste - they always end up in my order. The sides are no joke, I typically get an additional side of Mac and Cheese, eat the whole thing and then just immediately fall asleep - finishing a Burnt Ends plate is like running a half marathon and I mean that in the best possible way!The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because there is ONE employee, ONE guy that will ruin your dining experience. I don't know his name but he has the energy and interest of a wet tumbleweed. He is super unhelpful and really catty - get ready of that dude and you guys are set!

If you're looking for over-the-top flavors, indigestion, and feeling unwelcome, this is the spot! We were so looking forward to trying this place! We had been eating at the OTHER bbq joint in town and loved it! Always felt great after every meal. It was so good we brought lots of friends and ate there 3 times in 1 week and thought we would give another place a try. From here we ordered:BRISKET BURNT ENDS (read below)PORK BELLY BURNT ENDS (read below) PULLED PORK - tender and juicy and not overly flavored. You can actually use the extra sauces on this dish. MAC AND CHEESE - Basic. Good but nothing special.COLLARD GREENS - way too charred and bitter tasting in our opinionCOLE SLAW - fresh, crisp, and sweetYAM FRIES - perfectly cooked, really yummyCORN BREAD - SUCKED. The cornbread was so dry, had no body, and just crumbled apart into a mess.BISCUITS - better than the corn bread BURNT ENDS are supposed to be nuggets of tender meat with some of that smoky bark in every bite. Although it's true that both dishes had a few yummy morsels, most of the BURNT ENDS we ordered were INEDIBLE. They were sooo overly burnt and rock hard. Many pieces had no meat at all. The edible pieces were were TOO RICH. You couldn't eat much because it was just too much flavor. Too strong. Not balanced. Overly decadent. The other dishes looked really good, tasted pretty good, and were good sized portions. The biggest problems were:INDIGESTION - One of us got pretty nauseous and we all kept burping the meal for hours and hours. It just didn't set nicely. POOR SERVICE - No smile. Just dead eyes, monotone voice, and insincere vibes. Work in the back if you don't have basic customer service skills!INEDIBLE - Much of the burnt ends dishes and the corn bread. Needless to say, we won't be going back. Do yourself a favor and go to the other bbq place! They have friendly, professional service that doesn't make you feel weird for coming in to eat at their restaurant, all the food is DELICIOUS, balanced, and not overly flavored, and the cornbread is awesome! The food is consistently good, and digests perfectly.
