Had to sit at bar due to lack of reservation but the bartender was amazing! The crème was amazing but burnt on top. Don't worry they did not require I pay for the low quality! The baked potato was huge so plan to share! Would go back with reservations!

This place never disappoints! My husband and I went for my birthday (again) and enjoyed our time. I had the fried shrimp, Caesar salad and mashed potatoes (not pictured). The biscuits are the best thing about this place! The service is always top notch. Ricky was amazing and brought a sweet treat for my birthday. I love it here!

Will come back if in the area. The French onion soup and the potato side

We went to Butcher and Singer this past weekend and could not have enjoyed it more. Our server, Jared, was amazing and knew everything there was about the menu and specials. We got filet mignon, the stuffed hash browns, creamed spinach, and tuna tartar and everything was PERFECT. The biscuits and chocolate cake also AMAZING.

Went back again for another satisfying meal at Butcher and Singer. Is it safe to say that I am now a regular?

Amazing steak house! This was my first time visiting, we are on a mission to try every upscale steak house in Philadelphia. Made reservations on open table. They didn't have Valet which came to us as a surprise, but once you step inside it's gorgeous, a little dark and upscale, moody but the vibes are amazing. I waited at the bar while my SO was parking the car, once seated at our table Brian took care of us, he explained the menu to perfection and helped us choose our menu items. He even walked us through our first time trying out escargot. We tried the lobster cocktail, the Wagyu steak and chicken with sides. The sides were amazing and I have never had a stuffed hash brown. Let me tell you the hot biscuits were so so so good ! The food was top notch and service even better.

An amazing meal! The ambiance of this restaurant is to die for. Dim lighting, gold chandelier and paintings on the wall. They offer exceptional service the second you walk in with their coat check. We ordered the crab cake and tuna tartare for appetizers and the crab cake was mouthwatering. For the steaks - our server, Brian, recommended the Delmonico ($64) + truffle butter ($10) and said it's the best steak in the city. It was really really good but I was a little disappointed in the truffle butter since it didn't have a lot of truffle flavor. The sides were all delicious, especially the stuffed hash brown (which was massive BTW)!!! The Mac and cheese was really good too! Overall it was a great dinner and even better ambiance.
Be the first to ReplyWhen you want a bit of glitz and glam of old 1940s
When you want a bit of glitz and glam of old 1940s Hollywood in the heart of Philadelphia, Butcher and Singer is the place to be. There's even a huge palm tree inside this stunning space. If I had to guess I think was a former bank in the old days. Every table was beautifully and meticulously set. Our waiter, John, was super attentive and chatty. He let us know the many specials on this particular night. When he mentioned a special salad, I zoned out because Pammy here does not do salads. Then he perked me right back up when I heard you can have three plump scallops added to your entree for an extra 20 something. To start, piping hot soft flaky biscuits with a side of butter was served. Ummm...can I have more of these morsels please. OMG, they were some of the best I have ever had. Make sure you butter it up. I had the Twin Lobster Tails and my photo did not do it justice. They were huge. I ate it without the drawn butter. I like the natural taste of the lobster meat for what it is. The Mushroom & Onions and Sautéed Broccolini made for delicious sides. I also recommend the escargot. If you want raw oysters, go for the West Coast ones, they are sweeter. The manager made his round to each table and that is always noticed and appreciated. Thank you Butcher & Singer for making my 56th a memorable celebration. A first class establishment.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious steak.
Service was good. Setting was perfect for a date night! Loved the tomahawk and the family side potatoes!
Be the first to Replyalways the best time here.
cannot get enough of the atmosphere. food and service is great. the highlight is the steak. apps are also tasty and not the typical menu all other steakhouses offer. my wife especially enjoys the escargot. awesome spot!

First and foremost, Brian was an amazing waiter that we would request again. His knowledge of every menu item was truly enlightening and helpful..Secondly, their list of cocktails and sines was out of this world. The theme of the restaurant was carried through from their drinks to their desserts. Next, each of our eight steaks were scrumptious and cooked to perfection. Finally, the desserts and port were more than we could have ever asked for in a dinner. I would recommend Butcher and Singer to anyone who is in the Philadelphia are for dinner. Reservations are recommended as well.

To start off the waitress gave us flakey sweet biscuits which paired perfectly with the butter, giving a perfect combination of sweet and sour! The food was amazing. The mac and cheese was creamy, the mashed potatoes were fluffy, and the broccoli was seasoned perfectly. I recommend to do your research on how you want your steak cooked, they leave a little more pink here compared to other restaurants. Other than the food our waitress was okay and the hostesses were perfectly pleasant. Highly recommend coming here for a classy, romantic night!

This is more of an existential dining experience than just simply a meal out. The ambiance lends to the multidimensional aspects of why this restaurant is a must visit while in Philadelphia.

I had the Delmonico steak and it was delectable.

My husband made a reservation for us at Butcher & Singer on Valentines' Day. And overall, we had a wonderful time. The highlight of the night was the steak of course, but the complimentary biscuits were amazing! They were so buttery and soft, we could just keep eating them, but then, we have to save our appetite for the porterhouse steak. The porterhouse steak was prepared perfectly, and I have to say, I prefer Butcher & Singer's porterhouse to Alpen Rose's. It was tender and delicious, not one piece was chewy. The half dozen oysters dressed in mignonette and fish roe were fantastic as well. I would skip the sides - we had the brussels sprouts and stuffed hash browns for our sides - both were just fine. Knowing what I know now, I would totally have gotten another half dozen oysters. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert. Also, Alpen Rose flambes their Baked Alaska at your table but Butcher & Singer doesn't. Service was great, and we would love to come back again!
Be the first to ReplyThe food and service was so good.
Our waitress and overall staff were super attentive. Our waitress took the time to go through menu and describe certain dishes and Lord did she describe them well. We were giving these mouth watering biscuits with honey butter and..my mouth is watering as we speak. They were so good! As an appetizer we shared the oysters Rockefeller. One word, yuuuum!!I had the lamb chops, my boyfriend had the Delmonico steak with "the Oscar" on top. It was a delicious lump crab sauce that was absolutely divine. I regret not getting it on the side, our waitress recommended it. There's always next time! We also shared two sides, cream spinach and mac and cheese. Both were delicious! I want to mention our waitress did advise us they typically cook the meats on a rarer side. It was medium and alittle more fatty for my taste but my boyfriend love it. Also, everything was seasoned to perfection! Finally, I had a blackberry cosmopolitan and my boyfriend had an old fashion. This was our first time going and it won't be our last!

Exceptional steakhouse in Center City Philly, the food/service/atmosphere are all fantastic. I've eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend both the steak and tuna tartare starters and the filet for main course. The tomahawk is also great for sharing. The sides are also enjoyable and I recommend the potato hash as well as mac and cheese.
