Basically a remodeled house. NO parking nearby. Average service but sub-standard food. Small portions. Very loud place. Also cold.
An outstanding experience
Our table ordered all three tasting menus plus wine pairings. This gave us an opportunity to compare and contrast. All of them were excellent and most courses were truly outstanding. Beautiful presentation and taste profiles. I particularly liked the venison main course. It was so flavourful and tender. The restaurant is super flexible for any request. Service levels are very high. Noise level is low. Pacing was perfect.
10 out of 10 would recommend.
Pricy, but worth it. We did the tasting menu. Don't be in a rush. But everything was stellar. We did the private room in the main level.
Decent food but not Michelin worthy, great attentive
Decent food but not Michelin worthy, great attentive service however the price was ridiculous. Over $750 (including tip) for 2. Definitely not in par with price charged. Got 2 price fix dinners, 2 glasses of wine, 2 cocktails & one extra appetizer. In addition to expected 20% tip, they throw in 4% kitchen charge with tax on top.

The food is ok, but not deserve the price ! Some of the food is so salty and I have to drink lots of water after the meal. You can definitely find better food with this price!
Perfect.
Loved this place, the service was incredible. Not something we're going to do often, but for special occasions, we'll be back.
It's worth it.
Every single item was delicious. The service was fantastic. Would recommend the omnivore choice more than pescatarian one. Cocktails were fantastic too. The ambiance was okayish. No great views or tall ceilings and the location is okayish too. But the food makes it worth it and we had a fabulous night over all. Portions looked small initially but the end of all the courses, we were quite full. There are also small plates served in between the courses which were unique and nice.
THE best meal we've had in many, many years.
2 of ordered the omnivore tasting menu and 2 ordered the pescatarian tasting menu. They also have vegetarian and vegan menus available, as well as some amazing additional items that can be swapped out into the tasting menu you choose. They can also address gluten free requests. They also accommodate allergies and preferences. Every single course from each of the tasting menus was balanced in flavor and texture, and exquisitely prepared. Presentations are beautiful and deceptively simple. Of particular note were the Wagyu A5 croccante, Tajarin with butter and crispy sage, and the Iberico Presa de Bellota and Alaskan spot prawn entree (it's Spanish pork shoulder but looks and eats like beef ... amazing). The vanilla bean panna cotta, vanilla sea salt, Billy's honey was incredibly light ... yet had perfect jiggly consistency. We enjoyed the reserve wine pairings with each course. Fun to have the sommelier bring out the bottles (different wines for the different tasting menus) and educate us about the wines. Service was outstanding ... super friendly and attentive. Love Holly Smith and her team. Eat here, often.
Great service.
I suppose we had an expectation a bit higher than we actually experiecedt The food was on the salty side It was a fun weekday dinner but nothing special
Came here for a birthday dinner in October 2023.
When making the reservation, I had a custom request for a small card and a certain table. When we arrived, our table had a small handwritten birthday card on the restaurant stationary. We started off with some cocktails, and we both got the same tasting menu--"carnivore", as they call it. The food was pretty good overall, but there were a few that were a standout. We enjoyed a couple more cocktails, and ended the meal with a small birthday dessert. Honestly though it was a bit overpriced. The experience and food was nice, but I probably won't go out of the way to dine here.
My go to, my treat restaurant whenever I visit metro
My go to, my treat restaurant whenever I visit metro Seattle. Contemporary Italian cuisine with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients- my most recent visit was in the fall and they had both white and black truffles! Superb wine and cocktail list. Excellent service, Dress well, because everyone else will. Yes, you will spend money, and yes it is very much worth it.
Cafe Juanita kicks it up a notch
Though I live in the UK, I’ve been lucky to have discovered Cafe Juanita on a holiday trip around 20 years ago and I’ve been a firm fan ever since. On sone trips, I even made a special detour to Seattle on my holiday just to eat at Cafe Juanita. Michelin don’t visit Seattle but if they did, I’m sure chef Holly Smith’s cooking would garner her some stars. It’s hard to categorise her cooking - she describes it as northern Italian and no doubt there is Italian technique in there but it’s definitely sophisticated Italian with flourishes from elsewhere. My favourite dishes have been the foie gras (my favourite preparation in the world), rabbit in Arneis and the bread I hadn’t been to the USA since 2018 due to world events but last month, my wife and I visited sone foodie friends who had just moved to Seattle. They wanted me to take them to Cafe Juanita as I had told them so much about it about the years They have moved to a tasting menu format since my last visit with omnivore, pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan menus on offer. In addition, there were extra dishes that could be added to the menus. Our waitress told us that there was a lot of flexibility if we wanted to exchange dishes between the menus This was good for me as I had always gone back to my favourites on previous visits and this way, I could try more dishes. In fact, I had never tried the pasta or risotto at Cafe Juanita and I was excited. Well, the food was stunning. Standout dishes included the wagyu croccante - a thin crisp bread with the most wonderful layer of beef, tomato and seasoning, risotto from heaven, the foie gras (thank goodness they haven’t messed with the dish as it was perfect) and amazing pork presa. I had tajarin - essentially angel hair pasta served with sage butter and crispy sage - nowhere to hide with its simplicity but delicious due to trust in top class ingredients with a magical touch in the kitchen It was great to see Holly who served a couple of the dishes and Linda, our server looked after us well. Valet parking was a nice addition too as the car park isn’t the biggest My foodie friends loved it and it was great to be back in the embrace of an old friend
