I'm deeply concerned as I believe the maitre d' was abusing drugs. This was sadly confirmed when clearly heard him snorting cocaine in the men's room stall. Sadly, I would avoid this establishment at all costs. There are many finer establishments in Scottsdale.

..OH MY GOSH, GO RIGHT NOW. I'm not even kidding!!! First, I have to say this place was absolutely beautifullllllllllll!!!!! The decor and atmosphere when you walk in is breathtaking. Every detail is well thought out. Second, the food is phenomenal!!!!!! Every single dish was so good, I regret not doing the 8 course! I love how the menu changes offering new dishes that I have never tried before. Also, wine pairings were great with the help of the server's and sommelier's wine knowledge. Service timing was spot on not making us feel rushed at all which is a very important to my husband and me. Every staff member felt professional and extremely knowledgeable!

Let me tell you about this little gem that had somehow eluded my radar until recently. In typical fashion, I had been dragging my feet on where to propose to my girlfriend, holding out for the perfect spot. Being the internet sleuth that I am, I stumbled upon an article that touted Cafe Monarch as one of the most romantic restaurants, not just in the Valley, but in the entire country. Now, I'm not one to take things at face value, especially when it comes to something as monumental as my proposal. So, I decided to give Cafe Monarch a call during the early afternoon, before they opened. To my surprise, someone actually answered the phone and invited me down to scope out the place. Let me tell you, the moment I stepped inside, I was blown away. The entire restaurant is immaculate, and it transports you to the heart of southern France, making you forget that you're smack dab in the middle of Old Town Scottsdale. The staff, every single one of them, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to help me orchestrate the perfect proposal. Everything about Cafe Monarch is top-notch, from the mouthwatering cuisine to the enchanting atmosphere, and from the attentive waitstaff to the charming hostesses. I want to give a special shoutout to Shelby, who played a pivotal role in making my proposal an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a place to sweep your significant other off their feet or simply want to indulge in an evening of culinary bliss, Cafe Monarch is the place to be. Trust me, you won't regret it. I only wish I had discovered this hidden treasure sooner, but better late than never, right? We will be back for every foreseeable anniversary.

.. 5 STAR 100%. Cafe Monarch is heaven. From the second we walked in, we were absolutely taken care of by the staff!! The service is over the top, absolutely perfect! The food is INCREDIBLE. It is gorgeous inside, the bar area is beautiful. If you sit at the bar it's the only place that you can order a la carte. Otherwise it's a fixed menu. We were told that the chef is in his late 20s ((insanely talented)) and everynight there is a fixed menu. Everything we ordered was delicious and truly perfect. I could not tell you what my favorite dish was, except all of them. Yes, it is pricey, but you are getting the very best of the best. If you are on a budget maybe this isn't the spot for you, this is definitely a place where you treat yourself ((or in my case my bestie brought me here for my birthday)). If you are looking for a 5 star meal AND experience I promise you, this place knows what they are doing which is taking care of their guests! I will not be back soon BUT I cannot wait for that day to come!

The food was phenomenal- all the flavors of each dish melded together seamlessly. I had the rack of lamb as my fourth course and it was perfect. I was surprised by the generous portions, as well. The cocktails were delicious. I sat at the bar, so I didn't get the ambiance of the dining room experience, but it was very well appointed and the service was impeccable. I hate to mention the cost, but I believe you are paying not only for the food but the special experience, and they make it worth it. But for most people this would be a once a year place to dine.

I'm behind in writing my reviews, but Café Monarch has been on my restaurant bucket list for a couple of years now and I was finally able to cross it off in April! My husband and I were able to combine a long weekend in Phoenix with a work trip for me, and as soon as I knew the dates of the trip, I made reservations at Monarch. Here are some logistical details: You do have to place a $50 "deposit" when making the reservation - it will be applied toward your meal when you actually come to eat. Also, there is complimentary valet service right across the street from the restaurant. There were a few very nice cars parked directly in front of the restaurant, but I'm sure you have to be a regular or your car has to qualify you to get those spaces. Our company vehicle wasn't going to make that cut! :-) Lastly, if you looked at the online menu, you may realize that unless you are rolling in the dough, this is a place that you only visit for very special occasions. THE EXPERIENCE: Where do I begin? We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation time and were invited to have drinks at an outdoor table out front by the fountain. The hubs ordered the Old Fashioned and I ordered the "Te-quil-a" Mockingbird. He said the OF was the best he has ever had (and he has ordered from many great restaurants & bourbon/cocktail bars) and my drink was so whimsical, fun, and delicious! We had not finished our drinks before we were escorted to our table. We had asked for a table on the "patio" and were not disappointed. You don't even realize you are outside. It's so beautiful that it literally took my breath away as we entered the dining area. We also saw the indoor dining room and it is beautiful as well. You literally can't go wrong. Our server(s) (we had several people tend to us throughout the evening) were wonderful - so knowledgeable and patient and subtle. We were expertly guided through the menu and recommendations were made when we asked. We opted for the standard 4-course meal, but we did also select the Oysters & Caviar add on, and did NOT regret it!! This is what I ordered for my four courses: Tuna Crudo Argentinian Shrimp Salmon Surf & Turf: Filet & Halibut My husband got the same first two courses, but his third and fourth were Veal & Sweetbread and the Wagyu Filet The Oysters & Caviar, Tuna, and Shrimp were my absolute faves. I can't even tell you. The plating and flavors and balance and everything was just spot on. The salmon was good as was the sea bass and filet - I have no complaints. I just think by that time between the wine and the food I was getting full! Did I mention we also got the wine pairing? We did. That was a lot of fun but I probably wouldn't do it next time. It was a pretty hefty price tag and I'm pretty certain that the Riesling that they brought out is one that I have bought at the local grocery store before for around $12 a bottle. I would have been just as happy getting a bottle of one wine that I really like. With that being said: Awesome atmosphere, outstanding food, extraordinary service. If you get the opportunity, go!! I hope to go again someday.
We just finished our first visit.
The restaurant is beautiful, the staff are amazing and very knowledgeable. The service is over the top. We both ordered the four course meal. I had the six ounce filet and my wife ordered the rack of lamb. The first three courses were unique and perfect. I ordered my filet Pittsburgh style medium rare (charred on the outside and medium rare on the inside). My wife ordered the rack of lamb medium well. Both entrees were prepared as ordered. The problem with both was that they were both so salty we couldn't enjoy them. Unknown to us, the chef coats the meats with an extremely salty rub which was not indicated on the menu. Our waiter acknowledged that the restaurant uses a salt coating. I could only choke down half my steak and my wife only ate half her meal. My advice is to be sure you tell them not to put any coating on a meat dish. Our waiter offered to take back our food but we do not like to do that and we never ask for a refund.
Amazing!!!
Simply one of the best dining experiences in the U.S. The setting is amazing. One of the few restaurants left where everyone dresses up. An unbelievable wine list. All of the servers are extremely knowledgeable about wine. The flavors and presentations of the food were outstanding. We did the 3 appetizers and entree. Be prepared for a 2 1/2 hour experience and don’t forget your wallet.

This was our fourth time at Cafe Monarch . It has improved every year and is now outstanding . The longer tasting menu is a work of art . Each course was remarkable . The wine list is , to put it mildly , comprehensive and beautifully constructed .

If you are looking for a restaurant for a special occasion, this is a wonderful selection. It has a romantic vibe and gorgeously decorated. There's various rooms that you could be seated in and all are lovely. I have not sat in their patio, but I can imagine it's very nice as well. The front of the restaurant is beautiful. The service is exceptional. The staff is extremely attentive. They truly think about all the details. They even give bag hooks for the ladies. Your water will constantly be filled and if you use the restroom the napkin will be folded upon your return. The food is outstanding. You can choose between a 4 or 8 course menu. The 4 course menu allows you to select the entree, which determines the price of the tasting menu. I am a huge seafood fan and their frute di mare is delicious. I have had 2 versions of this meal and it's magnificent. There's lots of pieces of lobster, scallops, shrimp, etc. My husband ordered the lamb and it was cooked to perfection. All the prior courses are delicious as well. I have gone to this restaurant 3 times and the menu varies, but every bite is well crafted and always delicious. The chefs think about the presentation and flavor. Everything marries together well. There's crunch and unexpected ingredients that are wonderful additions. They have a nice selection of cocktails and wines. When my husband and I celebrated our engagement here, they provided us a celebratory glass of champagne too!

Cafe Monarch takes fine dining to a point where it becomes a work of art. From the moment we arrived for our party of three, we were treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. We opted for the 4 course menu and each selected our preferred dishes. Each course is professionally announced and all servers can answer any questions or such. Try their "Monarch" cocktail-it's pure bliss. I must also say that the Petit Filet Mignon was on par with some of the finest steak houses I've ever eaten in. Whatever elegant occasion you're celebrating, this is the place. Such attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience!

The moment you walk in the door you are great by men dressed perfectly in a suit and tie with a warm welcome. We escorted to the outside seating which reminds me of a lovely terrace in France . They offer you Champagne as soon as we sat down . We ordered cocktails and that was the best dirty martini . Then comes the complimentary appetizer which just melted in your mouth . It is a four or seven course menu which will not disappoint. We did the four course which each dish was perfect and enough for me . Tremendously overpriced, with a menu that left my belly less than satisfied. The service was excellent , but I found the universal broad smiles too phony for my taste. The food WAS tasty, and restaurant was quiet.
Hands down one of the best meals I have ate.
The service is impeccable with constant attention from multiple wait staff. The multi course meal offers you the opportunity to experience mouth watering combinations of flavor. Cafe Monarch even offers a vegetarian option to their full menu, which I thought was great. The table and chairs are luxurious, which complements the decor of the restaurant. Truly a fine dining experience and cannot wait for the next visit.

Went here for my anniversary and off the bat the atmosphere was wonderful. The location and scenery inside and around the building gave off high end, cozy vibes. I was entranced by the decor. Next, I want to talk about the service, it was by far the most attentive staff I have ever experienced. The wait staff were constantly checking on us and making sure we had all our needs taken care of, to the point where our waters were never below half empty. We got the chefs tasting menu and the staff were very clear on each course and made every flavor we experienced make sense. Finally, the main event of the night was of course the food. The chef's tasting menu consisted of 8 courses including dessert. Each course had unique flavors and high quality ingredients. There wasn't a single course that missed the mark. My fiance and I were beyond satisfied with our meal. They even prepared an extra dessert to celebrate our anniversary. Also, I'm not a big drinker, but I did have the best espresso martini of my life here. I would recommend anyone that wants to impress their partner or just eat exquisite food to dine here.

Where do I Begin?? Our 45th anniversary and we were So excited to dine here. It didn’t disappoint. I have been reviewing restaurants on this app for Many years and This place is in my top 5 restaurants of all time. They checked all the boxes. The decor is spectacular, the Service was So professional and the food was superb. I gave it 5 stars on Trip Adviser, if there was another star I would have gave them 6. I always rate restaurants on scale 1-10, I very rarely give 10! This was 10 +. I Highly recommend this Restaurant, Make early reservations and Enjoy the experience. Kellen and Fernando as well as rest of staff ( the Chef did a culinary Masterpiece) were the best, Friendly and knowledgeable. We will Always be grateful for this top shelf Experience. THANK YOU Highly Recommended !
Better than some Michelin star restaurants I have eaten in Europe
If it was possible, I would rate Cafe Monarch 15 out of five. The ambience is elegant, the service is exceptional and the food is outstanding. The best meal $600 can buy. This is a place to celebrate a very special occasion.
Special place
A beautiful spot. Quiet and refined which is a rarity for Scottsdale. Fantastic service. Great food. Lovely patio. I wish they had a smaller menu as the 4 course option is a lot and is expensive. I would go way more often if they had a different menu structure.
Outstanding Formal Restaurant in Scottsdale
The ambiance and decor were fabulous. The wine, food and service were incredible. There is a pairing menu and regular menu which consists of 4 courses. Todd our server was accomplished, friendly, kind and took wonderful care of us. It was my husband's birthday and they brought out a desert with a sparkler after dinner. Every attention to detail is delivered at this restaurant from the moment they park your car until you leave.

Amazing food and service ! Deserve a Michelin star!! From when we arrived to the dessert everything was meticulously done, the Argentinian shrimp amazing, the foie gras( i am French) was exquisite with stone fruits, we had the four course it was perfect, I would only recommend a smaller portion for the lamb, we had too much at the end, half of the lamb portion would be perfect for me. Really we decided in the future to fly from Santa Barbara to have a dinner there, the price is very reasonable for the quality of the food and drinks. I would also recommend the Moscow mule ! Perfectly done! Thanks for giving us a MOMENT in our life we always remember, it helped stop the time of life for an exquisite moment.
Fine Dining at it's BEST!
If you're looking for fine dining at it's best, this is the place! The wine selection was incredible. The service was impeccable. The setting was gorgeous and if the weather is nice I highly recommend sitting outside on the courtyard. We had the four course meal and every course was delicious! We will definitely return!

Truly a romantic experience. Ambiance was terrific from the outside in. A bit pricey but worth the experience. Staff was pleasant and informative.

This was an experience like no other. Upon first look, you understand the adventure you're about to embark on. The ambiance is breathtaking. The lighting is perfect for a romantic evening. The staff are there to help you along your culinary journey. The 4 course meal is unlike no other. Each new plate has amazing flavors. Everything is crafted to perfection. The desserts are the same, carefully made to make the ultimate impact. If you can, you must try this.

Right from the start everything was excellent!! We arrived early, no problem, we were given an amazing table by the wine cellar. The ambience with candles, table cloths, choice of linens, and well dressed staff says it all. This is FINE DINNING! You have to be prepared to pay for quality, but if that’s what you want, then the Cafe has it all. Deep wine selection, exceptional truffle mushroom soup, non gamey venison, and lamb that is next level. Michael, our waiter, was very knowledgeable and engaging. A special night at a special place. I would go back again!!

1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)

* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* PerceptiveWash44, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* PerceptiveWash44 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to PerceptiveWash44 for any questions Peter may have as PerceptiveWash44 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* PerceptiveWash44 now uses their connections at Cafe Monarch Scottsdale to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If PerceptiveWash44 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, PerceptiveWash44 receives the $200 reward which is credited to PerceptiveWash44's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Cafe Monarch Scottsdale!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
