Fabulous Casual Gourmet Dinner
Amazing restaurant! Casual atmosphere and the food was amazing! Especially the Broccoli and the S’mores. Special shout out to Kayden and Josiah our servers!! They were excellent too
Be the first to ReplyA delicious, rustic dining experience at Campfire on State Street in Carlsbad .
CAMPRFIE was a gastronomical adventure! Sitting indoors, below dozens of arrows imbedded into the wall, we began our dining experience with an appetizer munching on a gourmet medley of seasoned olives, rustic and homemade bread with a savory herb-infused butter. Our entree was a delicious and perfectly grilled ribeye served with a side of delicious, herbal dipping sauce, along with Campfire’s famous grilled, and cleverly seasoned broccoli sitting atop a delicious chermoula sauce. Make reservations in advance, for a unique and fun dining experience.

Amazing experience. Best brisket I’ve ever had and wonderful service. The atmosphere was awesome and it felt really cozy.

Great fire pits going as you wait, well over an hour for dinner. Worth the wait. Unique menu, flavors so good. Nice bar area as well.

Took a family group of five to dinner. It was amazing. From the service to the food and presentation. I cannot recommend it enough. The fried broccoli was fantastic.

Excellent restaurant in Carlsbad. Quite a different menu here, the grilled broccoli was amazing, and so was the catch of the day as well as the brisket. Our waitresses Veronica was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, thanks to her recommendations we had a fantastic dinner. Thank you - I will definitely come back next time I am in San Diego.
Be the first to Replycool building. Cool vibe. Good cocktails. Intersting food.
This is obviously a very popular restaurant. It was very busy and although loud, not as loud as I had expected after reading other reviews. The menu selections are very creative and while everything we ordered was good, we weren't overly impressed. The best thing was the broccoli. Perhaps the best broccoli we have ever had, anywhere. It was kind of like they are over-reaching to be be unusual. I would consider going again in a different season to check it out again but I expected it to be the kind of place that I would really want to go back to again and again and it wasn't. cool building. Cool vibe. Good cocktails.

Loved this place! We sat at the bar and had absolutely delicious drinks! The atmosphere is gorgeous and comfortable. Would recommend hands down.

Campfire was an excellent dining experience. Casual laid back atmosphere, but the food was phenomenal. We had to take our time to savor the taste of food and drink, because there were so many choices. The burrata appetizer was a fave and the roasted broccoli - although ugly, was delightful. The main dishes were good, but the veg was the star. The service was great too. We even requested a special drink from the bar and they gladly made it based on our instruction and it tasted amazing! Would definitely recommend and go visit again. Make reservations!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and even better food!
Great service and great food! Love the theme, and loved the food even more! Being from the Midwest, it was nice to be served a reasonably sized portion. All so good!

Fantastic experience- food was delicious- great vegetable choices. We had the burrata with grilled squash, the market day fish, and the porridge bread. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. Highly recommend

We were really excited about this reservation and somewhat let down by the experience. Ambiance and service were excellent - Brandon was terrific. We sampled 5 small plates - flat bread, broccoli, crudo, rillette and Treviso, along with the mussels. Each dish was beautifully and artfully presented, but not one was really delicious. They were all good, not great, which was a real disappointment. The best things we are were the Crudo and, beignets and s’mores. Considering the hefty price tag and the lackluster flavors, we probably won’t be back, sadly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience, great food, great time
The staff at Campfire went out of the way to make a great birthday evening, including accommodating various ages, from Gen Z to boomers, delicious food and drinks for everyone and attention to dietary needs. Top it off with great service and some surprises. Highly recommend Campfire.
Be the first to ReplyUnique concept
Only had drinks and dessert, but what a great concept - campfire food, campfire atmosphere. Great wine list - more varieties of white than usually seen in restaurants that are not wine-centered. Open kitchen to watch and friendly staff to chat with.

Very innovated concept. Tomahawk steaks were enormous and well prepared. Be ready to spend a bit. Wines were a bit pricey. Service was good. Very loud and cantankerous crowd. Fun place for millennials.

Recommended by Arizona friends. Did not disappoint. We had the grilled broccoli with peanuts and chermoula sauce and the smoked brisket. The brisket was so tender and delicious and the broccoli was tremendous. Highly recommend and will go back when we get to Carlsbad.
Be the first to ReplyCreative place, but bad service and average food for this caliber
I wrote a detailed review on Open Table, but our service was terrible and I was disappointed in some of the dishes. I have no problem paying top dollar for good food and good service. We ordered 8 dishes for the three of us without pause. Our family travels for food, so this was not unusual for us. But, we were overcharged for everything on top of what we were spending and that’s very off for this kind of place (they charged me a refill charge for my sons’ lemonades for instance) and charged us extra for the s’mores dessert because the server added an extra s’more, without being asked (dessert comes with two and there were three of us) and that I couldn’t eat the third s’more anyway due to my food allergy. Also, portions are all off. Some are small, some are huge, and I specifically asked about how many dishes we would need before ordering. We ordered probably three dishes too many and I honestly think the server (who had everyone else do his job by running every dish, getting us drinks, etc) was just trying to up the bill. Never had such poor service or such a problem in a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant and I expected much more from this place. Will say the hostess are very nice, the ambiance is great, and the menu and theme are creative. But I will not be back and will make sure I do not recommend to others.

Was fortunate enough to visit this restaurant in July of 2022. The restaurant has a cool vibe to it - a laid back, outdoors theme (even a little tent at the back) with upscale seasonal menu. Some of the items on the menu are available year round others while others will be changed out. We started with the wagyu skewers which were delicious - cooked perfectly to medium rare with a delicious Meyer lemon Aleppo aioli. It was outstanding. Our next course was the broccoli with chermoula, lime, and peanuts. It was lightly fried (no batter) with the lime and chermoula on the sides over the top. Never thought I’d order that as a second course but it was worth it (note: Was large enough to take home and reheated beautifully the next day). For our entrees we had the Market Fish (black Sea bass - grilled with Brussels sprouts, bacon and yuzu type foam) and the Grilled Octopus. The sea bass was delicate and cooked beautifully, (tender and flakey,) but it was a little under seasoned for my taste. The Octopus was grilled and came with with smashed fried potatoes. There was a deep Smokey flavor to it that I enjoyed it a lot but if you’re not a fan of smoked meats, I would choose something else. There’s lots of options. I would of loved to try their s’mores desert. The marshmallows are homemade and come with cookies, chocolate, and a mini fire to roast them over. They have an extensive spirits selection and all of their wines are natural and organically farmed and it gave us thew chance to try some boutique wine selections that we may not have had an opportunity to sample.
Be the first to ReplyVery good but..
This place is really nice and food and beverage are so good but the menu is poor, few choices for what we pay. 2 desserts for example are not enough, especially if one of them is just an ice cream. A richer menu would be appreciated!
Be the first to ReplyIncredible in every way 😃
When I was in Carlsbad fall 2020, this place was getting set up to open. I was expecting a touristic drinking hole YET… Back in the SD area for a few days now, we stumbled across it again and got a table! The food (every item we tried) was absolutely gorgeous AND truly delicious! Five star +++++ Do try it and make a reservation to be sure space is available! And the service… gorgeous ladies and such hospitable forthcoming staff!!! A delight to experience when in the area. So worth it!!! Bon appétit !
