Tasty lunch with friends
My first visit but pretty impressed. Not the cheapest exactly but good quality decor and food. Staff all pleasant but 1 of them was probably new to waiting, as he started to clear the hors d'oeuvres while 1 of us was still eating.

Called in this restaurant by chance on a Wednesday afternoon while visiting London and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The pasta was delicious, really lovely authentic Italian food! Couldn’t recommend it enough, definitely worth a try! Nothing was too much for the staff, they were so accommodating, beautiful restaurant and lovely staff…5 stars!!

I visited for the first time today for a work lunch. Unfortunately the staff seated our guests at a totally different table so we lost at least 20 minutes over lunch trying to locate them. It was difficult to get the waiters attention to order drinks as we were seated upstairs in the corner and when we did, it felt a little rushed. Appreciate potentially understaffed. However they did accommodate my vegan dish and the rest of the group enjoyed their mains and desserts. Small recommendation would be to add a vegan option on the menu in the future if possible.

Nice Staff but extremely poor food and not great service . Steak was tough, chips soggy. Service poor , but staff were fine . Bearing in mind local eateries far better surprised this is still open .

We selected this restaurant due to its proximity to our hotel and the reviews and were not disappointed. We arrived around 7pm and we definitely felt a bit underdressed in our jeans (open table said smart casual) as most of the clientele inside looked like business or special occasion customers but were still seated right away. The restaurant was pretty busy but the staff was attentive and took care of us as a team. The food was delicious and it very much reminded us of dining in Italy as nothing was rushed. Would definitely go back and perhaps dress a little nicer to reflect the elegant atmosphere.

Food and wine was excellent, we brought clients for dinner and they were also very impressed. The gentleman who took care of our table upstairs was genuinely friendly and attentive, very happy with the service.

Lovely Italian food served in an elegant setting. Surprisingly inexpensive for the City. Service was friendly and efficient. Visited for dinner on a relatively quiet Monday evening and suspect it is the sort of place which would be quite noisy if full.

We could not fault our 1st visit here. The service was wonderful (ok, we were the only ones here that day so wouldn't expect anything else) and the food fantastic. I would've liked more of the star anise jus with my duck but only because it was so yummy.

We wanted a nice please to have a lunch, catch up and eat some good food, and chose Caravaggio as we’d been before.
It’s quite a formal restaurant and generally plenty of city types in suits in there, even on a Friday.
Service is good and the food is always nice, and if you like wine they have some good accompanying choices.
We had a shared started of carpaccio beetroot and goat cheese which was nice and salty, and then a steak and cod dish. All the food was well cooked and nicely presented.
Desserts were very nice and recommended!
Excellent service
We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening. The service was absolutely amazing and the food was delicious. Fantastic ambiance would definitely consider revisiting and would thoroughly recommend
Be the first to ReplyMissed the Excellent score this time....
I like this restaurant as it’s close to my office and Usually this is excellent but had a business lunch there last week and missed the mark on the food side as my guests fish was over cooked. He did ask for medium rare and it arrived very much medium. Restaurant was busy but by the time the waiter got to ask as to how the meal was we had both started the meal and would not have had the time to send back his plate (and then mine as well as was not going to eat while my guest was waiting for food). My pasta was good. Table location by the window was great, ambiance also enjoyable. City prices as you would expect.

Popped in at lunchtime and had a nice bit of fish and splash of red. Soon filled up with men in suits and ridiculous ties. Was expecting a few of Caravaggio’s paintings on the wall but it wasn’t to be.

Went to this restaurant with work colleagues and clients on a quiet evening (Monday night) so it wasn't packed. The staff were lovely and attentive (not overly though, which is good) the meal was absolutely great. I had the Parmesan basket to start (delicious) the Veal with Risotto as main (fell to bits, delicious) and the Frangipan/Pear tart with ice cream for dessert - now I am not a big dessert person, but I do like a nice Frangipan - this was absolutely the nicest one I have ever had, I was stuffed but I HAD to finish it, it was just beautiful.

Three of us lunched at Caravaggio today. I have been going to this restaurant for 25 years and always thought it very expensive. Today, however, they surpassed themselves! Two of us ordered Gravadlax as a starter and were both stunned by the size of the portion. We received two squares each of about 2 inches on pumpernickel. In any other restaurant I have ever been to one is given decent slices. As we were guests we did not feel it appropriate to complain but frankly it was a disgrace. The main course of cod was acceptable. The service was ok but very slow. All in all a disappointing visit.

Had some relatives in town and arranged dinner here as they were staying nearby and we work in the area. The restaurant handled the booking in a professional manner and were accommodating to the two children in the party. I enjoyed the tuna steak although the portion size was smaller than expected. The tiramisu I had for desert was delicious..
