Cha Kee New York Reviews from The Last Year
Was walking in chinatown and saw a small line at this spot.
I went in and was told it was a Mission Chinese popup. At first I thought I needed an invitation but they gave us seats. I didnt get to take a picture of the menu because it is different every week. Online says this spot does it on Wednesday to Sunday until summer is over. Everything on the menu is spicy except for the Cha Kee noodles. I also had the lamb which was 39$. Favor wise was amazing, but very spicy. I had to ask for extra white sauce which they charge an additional 1$. Half of the lamb was mostly fat. Overall nice experience. Food was really good. But prices didnt seem like chinatown price.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to get a quick lunch by myself after running errands. The restaurant had a nice decor inside and it was not packed yet for the lunch rush hour. I ordered the baked spaghetti with chicken (don't recall the exact name of the dish though) and just asked for water, but there is a variety of dishes and drinks to pick from. Overall, the dish was decent, on the drier side I wish there was a little more sauce and there was a lot of potatoes. It's a quick spot for lunch if one is in the area
Bad service and horrible food.
Overall bad. Food is unseasoned and not cooked well. They messed up my order too
Food ok.
Service are bad. The waiter make a mistake for our order. The place not good to hangout . But won't go back again
Second and final time coming here.
You think with all the competition you would receive better service however you will be mistaken. Ordered to go and my mother asked to confirm if the dish was served with rice or spaghetti. The guy said "Don't you know how to read? There's Chinese and English!" Seriously if you lack customer service maybe you shouldn't be serving people. Never again! There are other better options available in Chinatown.
Great Hong Kong cuisine and milk tea.
Service and ambience are well above average. Comfort food and dining experience.
Came in for two cups of hot tea.
$10 total very pricey! Good service but no one came to refill our cups hot water is expensive here
Staple of Chinatown.
The food is average but nostalgic. The staff was quick and the food comes out quickly. It's no Michellin Star restaurant but I would definitely come back here with friends. Their baked rice or spaggetti dishes are classics. Hong Kong Style milk teas are great. Highly recommend to check out this Chinatown staple.
Was randomly walking and needed a quick bite.
We stumbled upon Cha Kee. Food was good and service was great! Will definitely come back.

I feel like people in these reviews aren't appreciating how rare it is to find a sit down restaurant with nice ambiance at these prices. We really enjoyed the avocado toast with fluffy thick bread and the Portuguese baked chicken, they were both flavorful and very affordably priced for the area. The HK style tea was also strong and authentic! If you're looking for a relaxed and affordable sit down meal in hectic Chinatown, this place is great!

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
