Pricey but what else is new at DW? Had a great time at the character breakfast, lots of characters showed up and we had terrific photo ops. I liked the buffet, the waffles were excellent and loved this cronut thing they had. Eggs, bacon, and all the regular fixings.

If you're going to Disney you can't miss one of the character breakfast experiences, and Chef Mickey's is a classic. They have an extensive buffet with great choices for adults and kids. Breakfast meats, fruit, charcuterie, cereal, waffles, French toast, seasonal pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and more. The service is what you would expect at Disney and the atmosphere is fun and upbeat. You can expect to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto along with some singing and dancing.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Character action.
Lots of great pics w the characters!!! Food was buffet with lots of choices.

This is a great way for you and your family to meet multiple characters without having to wait in lines. When we visited we had Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto visit our table. We were able to take pictures and get autographs and hugs from all the characters. They also had dance parties which were super fun for the children. A cast member even asks you if you were visited by all the characters to make sure that you have a magical experience. Let's talk about food. This is a huge buffet with many options. My favorite was the mashed potatoes, prime rib, and peel and eat shrimp. There was also a lot of kid friendly food like mini corn dogs, chicken nuggets, and fruit. The salad options are extensive and the desserts on theme. There is even a vanilla and chocolate soft serve machine. Our family really had a great time and the best part was meeting Mickey and friends in a convenient and easy way. This restaurant is located in the contemporary hotel and is just a monorail ride from the Magical Kingdom park. We made reservations in advance using the Disney app. Hope you get to enjoy the food here and spend time dancing the night away with goofy.
Be the first to ReplyI give this place 2 stars bc the food is pretty decent.
Nice selection. But my problem does not lie with the food. The blonde haired-middle aged worker named, Amanda is who I have a problem with. I visited with my dance team and we were dancing with Donald Duck as apart of the kind of "show" they do every few minutes. And my friend gave Donald Duck a high five so I thought it would fun to do that too. So I tried and the worker named Amanda glared at me and said in a very disrespectful tone, "she's dancing with you all right now" first of all, Donald Duck is a boy. Second of all, what a way to ruin the mood and disrespect customers especially at the "happiest place on earth" I wish people in this world would just be kind but you can't find people like that everywhere. Clearly you shouldn't work at Disney world if you are a sad, depressed woman in the middle of your mid life crisis.

We came here around lunch time when they were still serving the breakfast buffet. We had a fabulous time! The restaurant itself was clean and spacious. My son especially enjoyed watching the monorail drive through every few minutes. The food itself was good too! They were constantly replenishing so nothing was ever empty. There were ample choices and something for everyone. The waffle and pancakes were a favorite among the kids. The adults enjoyed the omelet and egg options along with warm cinnamon rolls and biscuits with gravy. Personally the bacon was my favorite. This was a great way to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto without having to wait in a long line.
Be the first to ReplyEveryone needs to stop hating on Chef Mickeys.
My kids loved it and yes it's buffet food, but so is basically all the food at Disney. The characters were great, I think if my kids were a little older (currently 1 & 3) they'd have spent a little more time with them but they aren't interested in autographs and don't talk much. My son was just trying to show everyone his stuffy and get one shy hug each. I'd still recommend it! We did get snubbed twice but they came back around - my son's face though when he was so ready to see them

Two children under 6 Three adults Breakfast $300 Food like Golden Coral Way too much for eggs cereal and pancakes The characters do come around Definitely not worth it
Be the first to ReplyIt had been a long time since we dined at Chef Mickeys.
We don't make it part of the itinerary every Disney trip because it's expensive and kind of a one and done type experience for us. Our youngest is four and we just brought him for the first time. He loved it. The breakfast options were great and I felt as though there is something there for everyone. The waitress was great and refiled our drinks quickly. The complimentary juice was delicious. I had a peach Bellini which was also very good, if you haven't been to Chef Mickeys I highly recommend giving it a shot. I took one star off because we had a reservation but still didn't get called for about 25 minutes past our scheduled time.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience.
The staff made sure we got to meet and see all the characters. The visits are short but that's to be expected. Our toddlers loved it! Food was good for a buffet and they had many options.

FOOD POISONING - The character experience our server were great, but the salmon was the cause of food poisoning. My child missed a final day at Epcot with both of his parents because one spent 2 days experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. I contacted Guest Services who referred me to Guest Relations in the park. They were nice and somewhat helpful, but they then referred me to Guest Claims for a refund. Once I contacted Guest Claims, I was then told to contact Guest Services (yes, full circle). The most magical place on earth sure doesn't seem to care about their guest's health. Neither team raised a red flag about the possibility of other guests being affected. And it seems like they just refer you to another team to make the issue disappear. There is ZERO internal coordination.

Lady at front check-in refused to check our family in a little early so we could comfortably make our flight. I know this is an easy accommodation for them to make... I saw it available on her iPad and have had it done at other Disney restaurants. We ultimately had to wait over 45 minute before seated for our reservation despite telling us we were on a priority list.Once inside, they have converted from full table service to buffet as it was pre-covid. There are much better restaurants on Disney properties for a good, breakfast character experience.

We splurged and took our 4 kids and baby to Chef Mickeys for breakfast. The Good: It was a great opportunity to meet the characters. The kids loved giving them high-fives and getting pictures with them. The food was decent and my bacon loving son was in heaven when I told him he could have as much as he wanted. The Bad: the service was awful. Our drinks were filled at the beginning of the meal and never again refilled. Most of them sat empty for over half of the meal despite asking a couple times for refills. The gentlemen who brought us food never asked if he could get us anymore. In fact, he was trying to take our plates when we stopped him and told him he would like more food. We quickly ran out of syrup and asked multiple times for some and it was never replenished. My husband got up and went and found another server finally who got us some. And the really bad thing - because we were a group of 6+ we had an mandatory 18% gratuity tacked onto our bill. I can't help but think the servers mostly ignored us since they knew they were already getting a decent tip.

Excellent food and service with many smiles! Also the Disney characters are always out and visiting tables for photo ops. Pricey of course, but kind of worth it when you bring the kids.
Be the first to ReplyI took my kid here, and it left me feeling really bummed.
The food is tragic, and Walt must be rolling over in his grave at the suggestion that Mickey would serve the garbage food at this place. It is fixed price, and though the place is designed for buffet, instead they bring you a trough full of everything they have. The potato gratin was edible. Salmon was overcooked. Beef was dry, tough, under-seasoned, and sliced too thick. I am no vegetarian, but I actually felt bad for the cow whose meat had been ruined and was destined for the garbage. There was some kind of dry turkey slice with bbq sauce squirted onto it."Gnocchi" were dry and tough, despite being drenched in an odd-tasting red sauce. The basic vegetables looked ok, but I had already lost my appetite. Oh, and they had brought us three salads at the beginning... "kale salad" was 25% or less kale, and one salad had shrimp that was the most fishy smelling I've been served in years. My kid is a fussy eater who rarely clears her plate, and even she commented on the food waste in the single adult portion. To go to Animal Kingdom that day and hear about conservation, then see the kind of waste and inefficiency happening here, all at such low quality ... is just depressing. Felt much more "Buy n Large" (Wall-e) than Disney. Dessert was ok. Kid's meal was passable as a kid's meal. I was able to hide my disappointment and disgust from my kid, who genuinely enjoyed meeting the characters. The server was polite and responsive. So gladI only wasted $100 for two (before tip) and could warm off the other 8 ppl in my party to avoid this place. $400-$600 saved. SMH.

Our 16m son LOVED Chef Mickey's, so we came here twice for breakfast and once for dinner. We were able to get last minute reservations for all three visits. The food was delicious. They bring everything to the table and it's all you can eat, so you can get extra. They came by to check on us frequently. Unlike Crystal Palace and Tusker House, we didn't find ourselves waiting for the characters after our meal. They came by at a good pace and were all very friendly. Didn't feel rushed at all! For breakfast there were plenty of baby friendly options. The Mickey waffles were a huge hit! For dinner, they brought over a plate with chicken nuggets, Mac and cheese, and broccoli. He also enjoyed some of the "adult" food, like the green beans and the turkey. We enjoyed every single visit to Chef Mickey's and we'll definitely be back.

We went to Chef Mickeys on our rest day from the parks and had a great experience. Definitely make sure to book ahead of time because I don't think you can just walk in. The breakfast food was delicious, it is all brought to your table and you can get more servings if you need. The only downside is a lot of food is wasted through this way. We are wayyy too much, but it was tasty and had a bit for all of us to enjoy. A little pricey, but a fun character experience! Kids under 3 are free which is a plus!

If you're staying at the Contemporary hotel with kids, I highly recommend going there on an off day. We've been to a number of character meals, including in California. I think this is my second favorite one. The food, service and ambiance are all very good. When we checked in with a reservation, the hostess pleasantly explained that they were running about 15 minutes late. This was very much appreciated after our Steak House 71 experience the previous night. The only real negative part was the gave us so much food, we were only able to eat about half of it for Brunch.

Me and my family were going to Disney for a couple days and we booked this service for 12:05 for brunch. We waited 1 hour to get in and when we asked what was taking so long their excuse was "we are cleaning the table" we missed our flight and we were very angry. We saw others getting in the entire hour without a confirmation text, we got a text and they didn't let us in. If you have a family or kids then I wouldn't recommend this. The food is good but the wait isn't worth it.

Another great experience for food! Let me begin by saying that planning your reservations is important, and I 100% recommend character dining if you have children. Having the luxury to eat delicious food and the look on your child's face when Mickey or Goofy approach your table is simply an awesome feeling! Customer service was awesome, and our waiter made sure we always had food and that our drinks were filled. Truly enjoyed this character dining restaurant and labeling it as a must-have in your plans if you do make your way to Disney World!

This past summer we visited Chef Mickey's for the first time post-Covid. We typically only eat breakfast here, although we have done dinner once or twice, and were at first disappointed to find that they had done away with the buffet style menu for breakfast and replaced it with a family style meal. However, after experiencing it, I think it was a good value and there was a nice selection of items offered. Also, you can ask for more of whatever you'd like, which is something that pleased my husband. We definitely felt satisfied with the food. Also, we were so relieved to see the characters come around to the tables again to do autographs and take pictures, something my son always enjoys. We will visit here again.
