I think one thing is for certain- this has and always will be one of the hardest places to get a reservation for in Disney World. In the last 25 years, I think I have been here 3 times, my most recent visit being last week. Currently, for WDW, you can book dining reservations up to 60 days in advance, or around when your trip starts (if you have a long trip, you may be able to sneak a a few extra days in, assuming you are staying on Disney property). This is also one of the few, if not only restaurants that actually charge you before hand- which is 67$ per adult ($39 per kid) for lunch and dinner, and 45/29$ for breakfast. Mind you, on 2/28/23, prices will change, as the full character experience should be coming back into play. With that being said, 18% is already added on (you can see the total on your reservation link when I found out after), so you will only pay any kind of extra drinks you may order. Do not be a fool like me and double tip the guy for borderline mediocre service.Reservations were for 7:05, and got there just a few minutes early. They told us to go inside, which literally started as a queue line to get your picture with Cinderella (which for me, personally, was one of the highlights of dinner). After that, they would call names, and thankfully around 7:35 our name was called. Thankfully the patience paid off, as we got seated right at the window, and my VIP guest got a great view for the fireworks (I really got the reservation for her, since it was her first time dining there). My view, well, not so great, but again, I was there for the food, not the view. The dinner menu is 3 course prix fixe (which you can see the current offerings online or the app). I decided to go with the charcuterie, the chicken pasta, and the mouse for dessert. I saw they offered my favorite beer of all time, so I ordered one- the Kroenenburg 1664. I got ID'd, which is cool, whatever, but the guy literally stared at my ID for almost a good minute, to a point of being awkward. I mean first of all, I have an undeniably white and gray beard you just don't get by being underage. Also, with all of the Disney technology, biometrics, and security, they already should know who I am and what I had for lunch. I don't think my identity has been stolen yet. Also got water, and a coffee (which sodas, coffee, and tea come with free refills). The beer came out, and the charcuterie as well. I didn't get the coffee at first, but he did remember he forgot and brought it out later. Interesting little starter, but I should have tried the salad, tbh. The steak they say is always so popular, but I wanted to try the braised chicken. It was very juicy and since it was chicken, I felt like there was more meat in it then the filet had- something that a fat like myself needs. The dessert, which was to showcase the 50th park anniversary, honestly left a little to be desired, which has almost never happened to me on a Disney trip. When it came to all 3 drinks, I was never offered a refill or another beer, and they were all empty. I know, I should be more vocal, but at the same time, this is Disney at one of the headlining spots to eat, where they call you your majesty and princess, wouldn't keeping ones cupeth full be part of that, or am I just crazy? When I got the bill, it was just for the drinks and the tip for those. Since they never stated to us that gratuity was included (and of course never saw our server again after we got our cards back) in the first meal, we decided to give an extra 40$ in good faith. I am telling you this to protect yourself if you come here in the future, don't tip extra unless you really think they deserve it. He got like close to a 40% tip that night again for service that I felt to be desired. When I told my sister after, she laughed and said they should have told you the tip was already included (she went with her family in December). So a few things to consider- if you can get in the next 10 days before the price hike, go for it- at least you get a picture with Cinderella out of it. If you can get a table by the window for the fireworks, make sure the special someone gets the good view. And, they only serve beer and wine, and it seems like they aren't pouring them out as freely, so maybe pregame or go somewhere after if you are looking for some libations. If you haven't been, by all means check it out. A little on the pricey side, but it is pretty much the only way you are getting inside Cinderella's castle (unless you win a night in the suite, good luck with that). I like the fact you get a few souvenirs out of it as well (wishing stars, wands, signed pages). The bathrooms, I was kind of let down, looked pretty dated and didn't really have a royal flair that you would hope to expect. I have knocked it off my adult list and got my review in, I think I am good for now (unless someone else invites me back).
