Cinnamon Bazaar London Reviews from The Last Year
Great food and service
We went here before the theatre show and the food was phenomenal. Service was so good and we really enjoyed it. Dominik -thank you
Love it!
The place is already very pleasant with its very colorful and not “kitschy” setting. It’s lively and the servers are all very pleasant. But of course the experience comes above all from the kitchen! It is very very good, cooked and subtle in the sea flavors for some very spicy dishes. In short, we all loved it!
Tastier than Dishoom, Splendid service!
A friend recommended this. Pre and post theatre set menus start at 24 GPB. The server offered to take $ off our check when she noticed I barely touched it. Spice level is not watered down, nor indicated on the menu. Do reserve online. The host was happy to switch our reservation by 15 mins. Upon request. The shrimp dish and the shepherd’s pie ( surcharge) were fantastic!
Difficult to understand how a venue can provide such dreadful service
We went in a group of 8, so had to choose from a set menu, as it would ensure a more speedy service. Given that, I dread to think how long it would have taken had we chose from an a La carte menu. We sat in small upstairs room, with another group. I think the alarm bells started to ring, when the drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. From that moment on, it was as though they had employed a group of tortoises to bring up food and drinks. Our complaints regarding the slow speed, just fell on deaf ears. One of our party said he has never experienced such slow, appalling service. It’s a shame, because the food was good. Nice and tasty. I would suggest you only book, if you can afford 5 hours for a dinner and 2 drinks !!
Delicious and mediocre food, poor service, cramped tables!
Summary: Some of the food was excellent, service could be greatly improved. It was a mixed experience for us at Cinnamon Bazaar. Right from the start, the service left us desiring for better experience, more politeness, and courteousness. Even the person who greeted us when we entered and asked if we had a booking sounded slightly rude and not polite the way he asked. Of course we had a booking. They were kind enough to seat us earlier than our booking time. However, the table we were given felt tight and squeezed. We asked for a different table to no avail. The restaurant tried to pack in as many people as possible. We were rushed a bit to order the main courses by a waiter, Tanveer. We were still having our starters and were not quite ready. We asked for a few minutes and he sounded a bit irate. When we finally ordered and I asked for the rice to be served separately on the side, Tanveer kept insisting that it comes with the dish. I kept insisting to have rice in a separate bowl. The main courses arrived fairly quickly. Two of the dishes were absolutely delicious (kingfish curry and shepherd's pie with lamb). But the prawns dish was not as good as it could have been. The worst was the okra dish. The rice my friend ordered did not arrive. When asked, Tanveer said that my friend could have the white rice which I asked to be served on the side because I wasn't going to have rice. We found Tanveer's attitude a bit rude. But she had ordered lemon rice. It took them a while to bring her lemon rice. The waiter failed to ask my friend how spicy she wanted or failed to mention that the okra dish is EXTREMELY spicy with whole chilies that looked just like the fried okra which was overfried, lacked taste, and didn't absorb the flavours of the sauce as it should have. Another waiter who was kinder decided to offer as free dessert but we declined. He took the dish of the final bill as my friend could not eat the dish. Overall, we are not eager to go back. We'd much rather enjoy Dishoom which has good service and great food.
Food poisoning - week off work
Not a very friendly welcome, plonked in the middle isle of seats despite lots of empty ones in the edges. Asked to move to a free corner table. Was told no sorry that is reserved for a party of 5, yet it was setup for 4. Once we sat the waiter added another place setting to the corner table. But guess what? a party of 4 arrived and sat down who seemed very friendly with the waiter. Considering you have to give your credit card details for the reservation, the restaurant and the staff have gone downhill over the last year or so, much like Cinnamon Soho did before it closed. And to top it all off myself and a colleague had the same starter/main and had stomach trouble the next day. I had extreme food poisoning and was off work for a week in agony. To be honest - it’s on the decline, go somewhere like Dishoom for a better meal.
Fast and flavorful family run restaurant with great price
Fast and flavorful family run restaurant with great price fixe menu pre and post theater. Cute and tastefully decorated. Accommodating servers.
A calm and airy Indian oasis in the heart of the city
Treated to a surprise special birthday treat afternoon tea by my daughter I had no idea that such a thing existed; a high tea featuring my favourite food of all; dahi puri Chaat (pani puri). and other Chaat dishes eg samosas served Chaat style with chickpeas and yogurt. What a thoughtful surprise made even better by being in a beautiful location in an airy and plant filled glass roofed building with a plethora of decorative details. Service unobtrusively attentive and welcoming. Food fantastic as was the spiced masala tea. Even the loos were lovely with colour matched tile grout to paintwork (cinnamon, naturally) also loved the brass framed Indian mirrors hung on vintage Indian cotton fabric. So many hand painted details too numerous and lovely to mention. Could not recommend highly enough. Loved it.
The atmosphere is mind blowing and the food to die for.
We struck a prix fixe deal online that included a starter, main, and dessert. The waiter was extremely nice, the service was very fast, the food and drinks really tasty. No complaints here. A must try!
Such unexpected mix of tastes . Perfect

Would definitely visit again, great location in the heart of Covent Garden
Lovely place great atmosphere
Had the set menu, food was tasty and hot. Jungle chicken curry was delicious, I could have eaten it all night! Lamb shepherds pie was so tender. Service was good even though they were busy. No complaints and we will be back.
No wonder this spot received a Michelin star Rating 2020.
The food was amazing and the ambiance was just as beautiful. Here are some pictures to make your mouth water. Samosas , curry chicken and lamb Shepards pie. Ginger carrot pudding with banana ice cream. The food was

This place was recommended by some close friend in Los Angeles CA. USA. I can not recommend this place enough. Great atmosphere and staff to start. Then the food. I went with real Indian food fanatics. They loved every course. If you are looked for authentic Indian cuisine. This is the place for you. We hand the sampling menu. Amazing
A lovely meal at this spot in Covent Garden on a Friday
A lovely meal at this spot in Covent Garden on a Friday evening a month ago! I didn't have reservations which I think are highly recommended considering the small/medium-sized space for seating around 40ish, so I was glad they squeezed me in at one of the two-seater bar tables closer to the entrance. They have a bunch of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten- free options, which I appreciated (shout out to Indian restaurants that have some of the best vegetarian options out there!) After consulting with server on her recommendation, I ordered the samosa chaat (£7.75) and the "Future 50" kofta (£15.50), a side of pilau rice (£4) This was plenty of food for one! I really liked the flavors and heat level of the chaat, a tad spicier than I normally tend to eat, with the yoghurt sauce helping to temper the spice a bit. The kofta (meatballs, but made out of grains and fruit, not meat!) was amazingly tasty. So much that as a moderate meat-eater, they made me actually not miss the meat! The texture, moistness and flavor were top notch, especially the crispy toasted exterior from the quinoa. Thumbs up! I do wish it came with rice instead of having to order it separately. The server was friendly though I had to remind her to bring me a glass of water, I'd recommend this place and would love to come back and try some of their other offerings.
Absolutely incredible experience! So good we went twice
Absolutely incredible experience! So good we went twice during our trip to London. Authentic Indian food made to share.

This place was so yummy for High Tea! First off, the whole place is so cutely decorated with all the greens hanging off the ceiling. The tea pots are all painted differently and are very vibrant. The staff was very welcoming when we first arrived. The service was a little slow - we had to remind our waiter about our cocktails which we didn't even get until after we were basically done with our food. The food served at the tea service was delicious. We got two veggie and two meat options (four of us were dinning). The veggie sandwiches were both spicy, yummy, and flavorful. The fish sandwich was my favorite of the meat selection. The watermelon chaat was soooooo good! Unique and hands down my favorite overall. The pani puri has a nice spice to it. The cheesecake was the winner for the whole table.
Do the afternoon tea! For £27.
50, you get 3 types of chaat (the watermelon was our favorite by far!), sandwiches, dessert, and tea of your choice. The tea replaced lunch - it was so filling. The service was amazing and the food was very very tasty. Would definitely recommend! As vegetarians, the sandwiches were decent but not amazing. The chaat was definitely the star of the show - would go back just for that!
What a gem! Had a cancelled flight in Heathrow--thanks
What a gem! Had a cancelled flight in Heathrow--thanks BA--and I said to myself why not head into the City and partake of some good Indian food. What a great choice!! We arrived on time and sat at the bar. The drinks were spot on. When we told the bar tender of our Odyssey and cancelled flights he comped the drinks! What an awesome gesture. The ambiance is mostly locals with a smattering of tourists. The food is above expectation! We had the obligatory naan bread, the Samosa, chicken (butter and tandoori). What a great meal. All of it was amazing and tasty and here's the best part: affordable! I wasn't gouged.
Excellent foo, samosas we're incredible! Could have had
Excellent foo, samosas we're incredible! Could have had more. Jungle chicken and lamb were perfect.
