Cocina Azul Albuquerque Reviews from The Last Year
I was born and raised in Arizona.
I have had some really good Mexican food in my lifetime. I can safely say that I have never had better tasting Mexican food in my 52 years. The flavors are so amazing. Unfortunately Cocina Azul had set an impossibly high bar for future dining in the Mexican genre. Not only was the food amazing, but our server Luis C. was incredibly friendly and attentive, easily one the best servers I have met. My wife and I cannot wait to come back. We may try breakfast next time. This is an amazing establishment.

My friend and I drove from Gallup to Albuquerque and decided to stop in here for lunch. I got the pozole because it was a cool day and I had been dreaming of soup, and boy was it delicious and gigantic! It was so gigantic a portion that I took half of it home and finished it for dinner. My friend got the shrimp tacos and really liked them. We also got the fried bread (I'm blanking on the name), which was delicious for dipping in sauce and drizzled with honey. This place was lovely! Amazing food, good service!
Food arrived quickly and the red was wonderfully Hot!
Food arrived quickly and the red was wonderfully Hot! Cheerful and friendly. Great menu.
Food was spicy and good.
This restaurant was all about the green chili! I got the beef stew with potatoes and green chili. It was some of the best soup I have had. It was on the spicy side so be careful. I also got the mixed player with the geeen enchiladas with chicken added on top, brisket taco and tamales. The combination platter is great if you don't know what you want and you want everything. I would come back again when I am in the area.
Wonderful and authentic New Mexico neighborhood restaurant
Stumbled upon this “New Mexico cuisine” on my way back to the hotel, so having grown up and continued to spend a lot of time in the Land of Enchantment, I stopped. Thank goodness I did, because the food (tender ribeye tacos on wonderful corn tortillas, perfectly seasoned frijoles, guacamole, salsa) was authentic and very, very good. I highly recommend this place for an authentic neighborhood restaurant with more locals than tourists.
One of our favorite breakfast spots.
Great service! Also, you can beat the prices of the menu and the quality of food! Their Chile is bomb!

We saw the review on Yelp traveling from Phoenix to Albuquerque. This place is an easy off and on from the highway. Very sweet clean place. The food was wonderful, as was the staff. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.
When you search "green chili enchiladas" in Albuquerque,
When you search "green chili enchiladas" in Albuquerque, you get a lot of results! I am so happy we chose this restaurant over all the others. Our waiter was a nice guy, even with the restaurant being totally slammed on a Tuesday evening. He brought us free chips and salsa when the wait for our food grew a little long. They were really good. We ordered the creamy green chicken enchiladas and they were fabulous. In AZ/UT we don't really do creamy enchiladas, so they were a treat. The kids loved their ribeye tacos. I liked the veggies, sauces, and guac that came with everything. I wish we could've had some sopapillas, but we had to run. We would definitely eat here again on our next road trip!
Food and service were very good.
It feels just like a welcoming SouthWestern type Mexican restaurant. The quality of the food is very obvious. No wonder they have such a following in ABQ. One of the best meals I had in New Mexico. Make sure to stop here if you are visiting Albuquerque.
After seven years, found it again.
It didn't disappoint. Waiter brought sopapillas on the house freshly cooked, hot and delicious.
The service was really nice despite being so busy.
Our waitress was warm & friendly. We loved our food. We ordered the burritos which was flavorful. The place is small and quaint but overall we had a wonderful experience,
The real, casual NM deal!
Tucked in a modest neighborhood near the historic area, this is one of the most authentic eateries that I’ve yet discovered in NM. In addition to offering the more expected, almost “tex-mex” (for the less adventurous), they also offer delicious, fresh, slow cooked gastronomical feasts. It has a light contemporary atmosphere, big windows, concrete floor, no frills, basic and really good. Very casual, family friendly and reasonably priced. I think i was the only tourist in the place. (Beware of the spice in the chile dishes & soups, if you are sensitive .) And just when I thought it could not get better, my waiter offered me fresh sopapilla with honey! It just don’t think you can beat this. Thank you. I hope I get an opportunity to return.
We had the brisket tacos and they were delicious.
Also, don't miss the sopapillas, they finished our meal perfectly!

Franks Combination plate with red and green sauce was delicious. Wish I would have swapped out the side of rice for the calabacitas (lots of reviews mention it). The chips and two salsas were perfect (don't forget to check in on Yelp to get those free).
Delicious Food, Super-Friendly Service! I was passing
Delicious Food, Super-Friendly Service! I was passing through town, and wanted to eat something classically New Mexico, and boy did this place take care of me! My online order didn't quite work, so when I drove to the restaurant, they quickly put in my order, and before I knew it, I was ready to take my food to my hotel and enjoy! I ordered the Carne Adovado Enchilada plate, with 'Christmas Sauce' (half green chile salsa, half red chile salsa), came with rice & beans (BUT, you can choose other sides as well!). The meat & sauces were absolutely delicious. The enchiladas were plated as tortillas, meat, tortillas, and sauce on top- horizontal layers, rather than rolled up enchiladas. Rice and beans tasty, too. And... I'll admit it, I topped it off with their Flan, and it was heavenly. I enjoyed the texture, the flavour (not too sweet), and the portion was generous. So, recap, really friendly service, and freshly-made food I highly recommend!
This place is unbelievable.
We're unable to get in during our last visit to Albuquerque during the balloon festival. Made it a point to visit while passing thru this week. The Green Chile and Pozole was world class. Best green sauce I've ever eaten.
Great burgers, GC stew, posole.
All food is perfectly delicious and prepared perfectly.
If you like hot chili, this is it.
I miss your delicious red chili con papas stew. Please bring it back. Friendly staff. Nothing fancy but good food!
My husband and I stopped in here while visiting my sister
My husband and I stopped in here while visiting my sister in ABQ. It was the top rated restaurant on Yelp and I was craving some good new mexican food. The staff was attentive without checking in too often and they were quick to give their recommendations when asked. We split a few dishes and I think the brisket ended up being the favorite on the table. We were served quickly and the price was appropriate. I would come back if looking for a simple quick meal in Albuquerque.
Great Mexican food north of the border
This restaurant is located close to Old Town Albuquerque. It is a relaxed, casual, bright and relative large place. We had the shrimp taco bowl and a beef brisket quesadilla along with 2 margaritas. All were excellent. The shrimp were plentiful and plump, the beans tasty and the bowl itself was good. The quesadilla was also good with ample well cooked brisket and cheese. All the side condiments were also better than most places. Our server was very personable and helpful and provided a few side samples without us asking, so we could make up our minds. Overall this was one of the better Mexican meals we’ve had on our trip so far. It was good value for the quality and portion sizes along with the service and ambiance. We left full but contented and would easily return.

We wet by to make a reservation for a birthday party and were greeted by Luis who made everything easy and catered to our wishes. On the day of the event Luis and a second Luis worked as a team to serve us deliciously authentic New Mexican cuisine. Luis and Luis are great ambassadors and I hope they are recognized for their work. We will be back!

Legit New Mexico cuisine! Great huervos rancheros, husband loved the carne adovada - perfect spice and amazing flavor. Would definitely come back when in ABQ for lunch / dinner!
Great Mexican food
Amazing grilled chicken taco and the best rice I’ve ever had ! Great waitress as well ! Highly recommend for your next meal
The creamy chicken enchilada had a lot of heat. Grilled chickens were good too and plentiful.
Small, quaint place. Line was out the door so you knew it was good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was very good and a good value.
Busy and delicious
We had a wonderful small lunch here during a Balloon Fiesta weekend. It was very busy, but we were offered a table in a matter of minutes. We had tacos to share and they were delicious. Service was attentive and kind during a busy time (thanks, Luis).
Amazing!
Fantastic place. Great atmosphere and amazing food. The salsa had the perfect amount of spice, and the brisket tacos were out of this world.
Delicious!
We visited on a busy Friday night. Incredible food and attentive service even though they were slammed. Absolutely worth the trip!
Blue kitchen delicious food and great service
My 2nd time in this place blue kitchen and I reaffirm that the food is delicious, the details and the service very good. The delicious sopipillas. Our waiter Uriel was super friendly and attentive.
Hot chile!
Good hot Chile! Started with a local draft beer and Pepsi. Get the bottomless chips and salsa with a great green chile salsa and a hot red Chile salsa with cilantro. The carne was plump and moist and enough for 2. The combo plate featured a relleno, brisket taco, brisket enchilada and tamale. No cheese on the taco. Garden greens for the garnish. The waiter was prompt and polite. A good chile fix for red and green lovers.
Great tacos and New Mexican food in Albuquerque
Great dinner! We had tacos, nachos and drinks. Margarita was really good. Street tacos were also delicious. Salsa had some definite kick to it but the green Chile salsa was also very good. Would definitely recommend
So good we went twice (one of us a third time)
Sooooo good! We love Alfredo! He's the best waiter. Amazing food and service. We had 7 or so different things over the different visits. Each item was super. We had burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas.. the sopapillas were amazing. I don't eat fried food and at sopapillas two days in a row. A great family dinner.. two days in a row.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
