Amazing experience there having dinner for six.
The vibe was great the moment we entered. Strong positive energy. Service and attentiveness the best. Food was fast to arrive and each dish unique and great. Live Cuban music on Friday was amazing, along with freshly rolled cigars (no smoking onsite though). Dare I sad this is now in my favorites rotation!! Note that the first floor is wonderfully vibrant and there is another floor for those that prefer a quieter space.

Went there for dinner, The ambience was so nice, the music was amazing we were with a baby so they seated us in a little private section for that witch I really appreciate. The food was good, the drinks were ok but the service it wasn't great, we got more attention from the busser that was so nice and funny better that the actual server

I've done takeout from here a number of times, not realizing delivery is through a third party. I always just call the restaurant and assumed they use their own delivery people. I always - ALWAYS, ALWAYS - get stuck paying way more for my food delivery when paying cash because the delivery people show up claiming not to have any change. I'm tired of it. The restaurant could care less when I called them. I'll find someplace else. It's not fair. Or worth the extra money.

This was the absolute most perfect place to celebrate my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. I made a reservation a week in advance and put it in the notes that it was for an anniversary. We found parking a block away which was great and were seated right away when we arrived. The menu has a decent amount of selections but I decided to go by some of the recommendations from my fellow yelpers. We ordered two mojitos, grilled octopus as our appetizer, ropa vieja and lechon asado as our entrees. Our mojitos had the perfect amount of bitterness and sweetness. The grilled octopus was grilled to perfection and came with potatoes that looked like home fries but were spectacular. My ropa vieja was so good and so filling; the shredded beef was seasoned so well and paired beautifully with the rice and black beans. My favorite part of my dish was the mashed plantain under the shredded beef: the sweetness of the plantain meshed so well with the saltiness of the beef. I tried the lechon and it was very good; not too salty and very tasty. As our dessert, we decided to try the mango tres leches. When it arrived, it had "happy anniversary" written on the border of the plate which instantly made us smile. The attention to detail in all of our dishes was not missed; everything was served and presented so beautifully. The dessert was creamy, sweet and the perfect way to end the meal. During our entire meal, we enjoyed live music in the background which was magical. Although it was a very busy night, our server, Saul was extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. This restaurant went over and beyond our expectations and will be getting recommendations from me.
Be the first to ReplyI have mixed feelings about this place.
The food was good , the music and the staff was nice. However, the bathroom was disgusting and ruined the experience for me.

Great Atmosphere, the service was excellent, and the Salmon Miramar I had ordered was absolutely delicious. Definitely another Must-go-to Restaurant for me! Hats off to the Owner, Chef, and Staff!
Be the first to ReplyLocation: Great location next to Washington square park.
Go there first and people watch. Tip the bird guy and the piano guy . Then walk a few minutes to Cuba. If you like pullpo then you have to come here and try theirs. It's cooked well and over a bed of potatoes that is equally as good as the octopus. I liked this dish way better than the paella. The paella was ok... not the best I ever had. I just like the rice a little crispy on the bottom which this one did not have. Overall flavors were decent. Shrimp wa overcooked rice was wet and soggy. Service: Not chatty or over bearing. They give you your food and let you eat. Wouldn't call it warm and fuzzy, but they were attentive and well paced. Ambiance: The ambiance is separated into a front and back area. The front is right where the door is and has the bar. The back area has draping on the walls and feels a bit more Romantic. Prices are not terrible for NY and portions were good sizes. $28- octopus 10/10 $30 - seafood paella 6/10 I would definitely go back for the octopus/pullpo.
Be the first to ReplyToo small portion for a $30 meal.
I ordered a pick up order of Paella Marinara and got this. Opened at home and shocked to see the portion was too small. It wasn't worth it.

.and glad you answered Great service, food and drinks. Our server was amazing. Attentive, funny, knowledgeable and 100% engaging. Group enjoyed every bite, every guzzle. Definitely a place to return to try additional and make our way down the menu. We also enjoyed live performances. Although on the smaller side there numerous section if small party is needed. Check them out would love your thoughts if you enjoyed as much as we did.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered Churrassco with mash potatoes.
My only complaint is that for appetizer I ordered the calamari and it never came, I was looking forward to that. The waiter asked me if I still wanted it when I mentioned how it never came as he gave us our dinner plates but by then it was pointless. Although he was very nice, I do think he should have offered us a drink on the house or something but he didn't.
Be the first to ReplyThe service and food at this place are terrible.
The price for the quality of food you get does not justify it.The staff are rude and long wait time to be served.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed dinner and drinks before a show near Washington
Enjoyed dinner and drinks before a show near Washington Square Park, Manhattan, for Cuba Restaurant and rum bar. They've got indoor and outdoor dining. For outdoors, they've got open air dining and semi closed off dining areas without anyone else breathing on you. Started with a pitcher of red sangria. They had a lot of fruit in it, and it was on the sweeter side. For the app, we shared tostones rellenos, and they served 3 of them. For my entree, I had the Ropa Vieja, which they served with a side of beans and rice. The plantains complemented the beef perfectly and rice. I'm not a huge Cuban cuisine fan, but I loved this place. Note that menus are digital only. Staff came out frequently to check on us and were very friendly and helpful. After sharing all of this food and drink, we were stuffed! I'm looking forward to returning.
Be the first to ReplyI highly recommend this Cuban restaurant.
The decor, food, and service all exceeded my expectations. If you're in the area and looking for a delicious meal, this is definitely the place to go. I found it on Yelp and am so glad I did!

The service is great but the food here is definitely a bit pricey for the quality and taste. I tried a shrimp entree and it was very bland. I did appreciate them welcoming us on a walk-in basis.

The best arroz con pollo I've eaten. Good ropa veija, too.

Came during a Saturday brunch, but ordered from the main menu. Which is AMAZING that they were ok with that. And, the paella was fabulous -- a nice red sauce wirh delicately seasoned seafood. And, the mojito was the best I've had all year --just a warning it is strong. The ambience is perfect and reminiscent of a cottage with a few rooms. Wait staff are topnotch. Brunch looked good, but I was so happy that they let me order the part

Not very Cuban at all. Bland overcooked tourist trap food. Even the cafesito was bad. The 2 stars is for the service which was cordial.

We were craving Cuban food and found this gem! The service was excellent and food was also YUM!! We ordered the bistec & ropa viejo...so flavorful. I bookmarked this place...we'll be back!!
Be the first to ReplyI was at this restaurant a while back with a group of 5
I was at this restaurant a while back with a group of 5 others. Our group made a reservation and were originally sat outside which didn't work as it was raining and very cold. This area didn't work and they "graciously" found some room inside. Service otherwise was alright. The seats were a bit cramped but they worked well enough. The lighting by our seats was a bit odd. The lights clearly changed to the beat of the music and as they were in my face if I looked up a tad, I didn't look up much as they flashed pretty often. Music was a reasonable volume but the place was quite loud.As this is a rum bar as much as it is a restaurant, I had the Old Cuban as my cóctel which was reasonably priced at $14. This had Zacapa 23 (a blended rum,) muddled limes, grand marnier , mint leaves, and cava. This was excellent. The fruitiness and cloying sweetness I tend to find from most rums was nicely balanced by the citrus. Would recommend. Other people enjoyed their mojitos and other drinks.I ordered the Ropa Vieja or shredded skirt steak cooked in salsa criolla with peppers, onions, and tomatoes served with black beans and white rice for $23. This was as per the photos uniquely served in a shell made from toasted platano/fried plantain which was nice looking but made the bottom plantains a bit soggy. The meat was mostly tender and well flavored. The white rice was well white rice while the black beans were excellent. Two others had the Cazuela Marinera or seafood casserole with monkfish, mussels, shrimp, plantains, and scallops with lobster cream sauce which was $26. I tried a bit and it was very tasty. Another person had the churrasco and they said the steak was a bit tough while another person had the lechon asado which they liked. My postre/dessert was the Torrejas Cubanas or fried bread pudding with sherry syrup, banana brulee, berry sauce, and whipped cream for $10. I would describe this instead as a fried french toast. It was quite rich and there wasn't enough of the syrup or sauce for my liking so I didn't finish it by the end. It was alright in short and I would recommend splitting it.The food overall here was pretty good. I would say to get closer to a 3.5 outside of the portion sizes being pretty reasonable especially for the area compared to the prices and for their pretty good ropa vieja in particular. The service left a bit much to be desired however and there was some notable issues. 3.5 rounded down.
Be the first to ReplyWe made a reservation a couple weeks ago for date night.
The waiter was very friendly and got our order started immediately. We enjoyed the rum flight and passion fruit sangria was strong but good. The calamari appetizer was a bit overcooked but the combination of all the veggies and flavor of the sauce was perfection. I thought that my salmon dish should have had a little bit more flavor. It was a very good sized piece of salmon and cooked well. What made that dish was the sauce. My husband really liked his vaca frita. The meat was perfect and the portion was more than enough. The waiter was nice enough to take a picture for us. The atmosphere was romantic and I liked that the music wasn't so loud that you can't hear each other talking. It had good lighting, good music, and clean bathrooms. The vibe was awesome.

Yo, Francis and Kayla were craving a lava cake so this place had one. Ordered two and a calamari app for myself....Gotta say, I was impressed with how well the delivery orders were packaged (they had hot cake and cold ice cream packaged well) and my calamari was delicious! I usually have a low bar for calamari being bland, but this was delicious, rich and flavourful- and the tomatoes were ripe and lovely!Note that my five stars were based on this super focused window of what I saw, but I can definitely see myself going back to try the rest of their food since they put so much effort into these two dishes.

The ropa vieja was delicious and our waiter was truly so sweet and attentive! The chicken empanada was dry but the beef and spinach cheese ones were delightful.
Be the first to ReplyLocated in the West Village, this place has a lovely set up
Located in the West Village, this place has a lovely set up for outdoor dining and plenty of seating space inside. My friend and I came here for dinner. There was a warm and welcoming atmosphere. For my entree, I ordered the Valenciana Paella, which consisted of saffron rice, pork baby back ribs, chicken, shrimp, fava beans, peppers, sweet peas, and artichokes. I also had a side of tostones, served with garlic mojo. The paella was HUGE, with a generous portion of meat - at least 4 pieces of ribs and chicken each. There was also a decent amount of vegetables, especially fava beans. It was lacking shrimp, however, so I let the waitress know and she came back with a few shrimp in red sauce, which was really nice of them. Later, I found 2 shrimp hidden within the paella. The rice was cooked perfectly and infused with fragrant flavor of saffron, as well as a tantalizing blend of seasoning and spices. The ribs were probably my favorite part, as the meat was delicious and tender with bold flavor. Also, even though the baby back ribs were small, there was still a decent bit of meat to enjoy. The chicken was nice and succulent. The shrimp was juicy and fresh. I really liked the fava beans, along with the other veggies which were distributed throughout the dish. The fava beans were soft and bursting with great taste.I also enjoyed the tostones, which came with flavorful sauce, which had strong, satisfying garlic in it. The tostones were delightfully crispy and had just the right amount of saltiness. In addition, I got to sample the maduros, which were made incredibly well. They were the perfect chewy consistency and were slightly crunchy and charred, giving it a delightful flavor profile. For dessert, my friend and I shared the Bombon Cubana, which is a chocolate cake with a molten core. This was served with strawberries and ice cream, along with squiggly design of chocolate sauce on the plate, as well as a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top of everything. The chocolate cake was absolutely delectable! It was moist, dark, rich, and velvety smooth with irresistibly melty chocolate oozing out, making for truly mouthwatering bites. The ice cream was high quality vanilla bean and paired well with the chocolate and strawberry, which of course, was divine together.Service was great throughout our time here. Our waitress was friendly and genuinely kind. The prices are fairly reasonable, especially considering the neighborhood. I would love to return to try the crispy calamari, salmon, and red snapper.
