DAMNFiNE pizza San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year

The area was in a nice neighborhood in outer sunset, outdoors dining as well as indoors. The pizzas were absolutely amazing. My go to place with friends or family.
How random to be one of three restaurants on this block.
Yes I took a one hour muni from the other side of the city to eat here and yes it was worth it! I shared the alotta burrata pizza and fried calamari with a friend and it was more than enough. I liked that the pizza wasn't too greasy and if we're being honest, actually tasted healthy. I hate arugula. I imagine it's what armpits taste like. But I didn't mind them on this pizza and that says a lot. Thank you Damn Fine for refining my palate. Also, the calamari was so good. It was so crunchy and flavorful and dare to say, some of the best that I've had. The lemon slices that came with it was super thin and also fried in batter - I thought it was a zesty potato chip when I first ate it. But it was the most delightful surprise when I found out it was a fried lemon slice. Who would think to do that??? Brilliant idea. Best invention I've encountered this year. When life gives you lemons, fry them!!!!?! Vibes were great.
Completely agree with Clarissa.
Our service also sucked, it felt like our group was purposely ignored while others got serviced right away. It wasn't even busy and yet they forgot an entire pizza, dips, and drinks. It took so long for any food to come out and it didn't live up to the hype. Our waitress disappeared in the end and we had to wave another guy down for the check, which also took forever to get to us. Would avoid on our next trip.
Service was great, staff were super friendly and kind.
I had a toy wrestler with me and staff acknowledged him which was funny. The pizza was the best I've had, I got the classic pepperoni and one with nectarines on it and I am still thinking about it. Would totally go back and get the nectarine pizza
One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Rotating menu, creative dishes, trendy interior design. Love that it's underrated and in a neighborhood that has easy street parking.
I'm honestly really surprised at the amount of high reviews
I'm honestly really surprised at the amount of high reviews this place has. There are a ton of pizza places in the city that are way better. Waiter about 30 minutes on a Friday night at around 7. The food was just okay. We ordered the zucchini, mussels, pepperoni & sausage pizza, and the nectarine pizza. The pepperoni and sausage pizza was good, with generous toppings. The other tasted burnt, the crusts were practically inedible. The service was horrible. It seemed as if our waitress was purposely ignoring us. We had to go to the bar and ask if he could pour some water in our cups. No toppings of cheese/peppers were offered & when we asked for both, we only got the cheese and she was never seen again. We had waited like 20 minutes just for the check alone. The people behind us were able to order before us and get their check immediately. They sat down and immediately got waters, we had to practically beg for anything. Won't be back, and will not be referring this place to anyone.
Service - super friendly staff, especially the bartenders!
Service - super friendly staff, especially the bartenders! One day it was pretty cold out, and a staff member saw me outside waiting for a friend, and insisted I come inside and sit by bar despite me mentioning I didn't have plans to dine there that evening. Prompt friendly service Ambiance - decent for solo dining & a nice summer dinner out with friends Food - love that they switch up the menu seasonally. Some of my favorites are the potato pesto pasta, pigs in a blanket, vida verde, and mushroom dream. (Yes I come here often!)
I found this place through social media.
I liked the sausage and sage more than the pepperoni but my boyfriend liked the pepperoni more. Their ranch is interesting, it's a bit weird at first but I grew to like it a few dips in. The hot honey is exactly as described, hot. It was yummy! I didn't get to try a pasta or salad this time but next time I will.

Been coming here for just under 2 years and always a great experience either dining in or for takeout. Celebrated July 4th with take out when they opened at High Noon ordering sausage and sage and pigs in the woods. Located on Judah in the Outer Sunset I highly recommend their pizzas.

Ok. We've tried, really tried. 3x we tried. Pizza is good, that's why we keep trying but the many times mentioned attitude is rough. Side eyes and aloof at best. I guess the "neighborhood" spot is only for a few neighbors. And how hard is it to tell diners upon arrival what you're out of? Dinner for is always a negotiation, but to have 2 of the 3 items you choose be a no go is tough

Their avocado toast is fire! The bread is deeeelish and that everything seasoning tickles the heart. Coffee is good too, you get to people watch and judge all the outer sunset hipsters until you realize... YOU are an outer sunset hipster. People were nice.
Average tasting pizza but they shouldn't advertise enoki
Average tasting pizza but they shouldn't advertise enoki pizza and use shimeji mushrooms instead.
Pizza was good.
Had sausage and sage, and the burrata. After all, this is a pizzeria, a good one. Also had the fennel citrus salad - fresh and just enough zing to tickle your palate for the pizza. Whatever you do, don't order the wood-fired carrots, unless you have the teeth of a beaver and the belly of a wood-chip machine; a few of the carrots tasted like it had the texture of tree bark - no kidding. When we mentioned it and showed the inedible stalks to the waiter, he brushed it off saying that's what it is. Also, we were disappointed with the chocolate cake dessert - a bit dry; guess no one orders it; the waiter seemed to be hinting at the gelato, so I suggest if you desire dessert, order gelato. Lastly, if you want pepper flakes to splash onto the pizza, it'll cost you 50 cents, haha. Nice ambiance, we were seated in the back patio. Front open air seating is alongside the Judah Muni tracks if you don't mind the urban grit and the orange sun in your eyes if you face west in the late afternoon. Inside is warm and inviting. We now know to be more discriminating next time.
Love the neighborhood.
We were very hopeful given the solid recommendation by two friends that live in the neighborhood. The pasta bucatini with meatballs was ok. Lots of thick sauce but very little flavor. The meatballs were small and dry--not much flavor at all. The mushroom pizza and the sausage pizza were ok. Again, all ok but nothing good enough to want to come back. Service was very nice although the check was wrong, overcharged for a salad not ordered. Overall OK. A good place to grab a bite if you live close by.
This place came highly recommended and was probably too
This place came highly recommended and was probably too hyped. We were seated at the bar and the bar service and ambiance were good. However the food and cocktails were absolutely mediocre and nothing I would want to come back for. Pizza was not crispy. We were not given knives and it was almost impossible to eat the pizza. The cost is way too high for what you are getting.
We ventured to a decent pizza restaurant in the Outer
We ventured to a decent pizza restaurant in the Outer Sunset on a bustling Friday night, greeted with the news of a wait exceeding an hour. Fortunately, they kindly offered us seats at the bar so we got seated right away. While the staff was friendly, there wasn't much else noteworthy about the service. Causal dinning spot that offers outdoor seating so you can bring your pup on a nice day. Opting for the Mushroom Dream pizza with added sausage, we appreciated the thin crust and all the textures of the mushrooms but found it lacking in flavor depth. The Caesar salad boasted a creamy consistency but fell short on seasoning, needing a touch more salt. The meatballs were satisfactory, although we wished the marinara sauce had a richer flavor profile. As for the crab ravioli, it was rather unremarkable, lacking in excitement. I would skip the crab ravioli. Overall, while it's a decent restaurant, there wasn't anything that blew me away. Next time, I will explore different items on the menu. Nonetheless, I'm inclined to return and support this local business in the suburban Sunset district.
Love, love, love everything about this restaurant.
They have a great drink menu (cocktails, beers, plenty of wines), and their food menu is just as extensive. Highly recommend making a reservation in advance, especially if the weather is going to be nice. Even on a busy day, our serves were great. The Fennel Citrus salad was fresh and went perfectly with the sunny day. As for the pizzas, we went with the Mushroom Dream and Pear Endive. The on both was light and airy and the flavors all worked well together. I'd highly recommend trying their seasonal pies. This was the perfect amount of food for 3 people. Dessert is not on the menu but they have them as well!
Ohhh damn you fine baby.
Sorry, I was just talking to this pizza real quick. Oh yeah it's funny because this place is called damn fine. Let's be honest, this is a top pizza place in the city. Where it ranks is entirely dependent on the style of pizza you like. This is a sourdough crust. It's not quite Neapolitan but it's a close relative. It's a light and very pleasant flavor with the crust. It's not just a vehicle to deliver you sauce, cheese and meat. It can stand alone as a great dough. The pizza as a whole is special. The basic Margherita is amazing. If you can nail a simple pizza like that then I will trust you. I'll trust you with my life. The pepperoni was elite as well. The pesto and potato was good but I'm not going to lose my mind about it. This is a classy little spot, with some Damn Fine pizza. Welcome to elites. (4.7 Stars)
Damn fine damn sucked last night.
1. Told wait for inside table was 15 minutes standing outside while waiting with kids. 2. Checked in at 15 minutes and told only few more minutes. 3. At 45 minutes given table outside stuck in a corner (we desperate at this point) 4. Treated like we were stuck in corner, waited for menus, waited to order, water refills ignored. Given 3 plates for 5 people. Waited to pay. 5. Don't ask if I want more alcohol without refilling water I liked this place before last night I'm sad Warning 6% employee benefit fee mandatory and waiter sticks in your face looking at you while you tip. 14 dollars for 3 meatballs seemed excessive and portion size was not listed as 3 measly meatballs. 3! What is that?
Excellent pizza and drinks Only negative is that I am
