Dante is one of the best restaurants in NYC!! The food is incredible and they have some of the best staff in the city. Every meal is so special

We arrived for happy hour, alas alack, we only had an hour and a half as they were closing for a private party. We got the last window seat, historically reserved for Mafia widows. The service was welcoming and they made us feel special without being rushed. We sipped the on tap Negroni, a Boulevardier and the Plum Sazerac, paired with a good plate of Cantabrian anchovies and some Arancini Meatballs, perfect for a light and quick stop. Yes we came back again a few days later, a Chocolate Negroni, a Negroni Bianco (excellent and not at all Negroni like) and more Negroni on tap. I had the Figs and Chandon, a Hennessey Fig Infusion with Benedictine and Chandon. Dearee me how to top this methinks, ah well back to the old favorite of the Plum Sazerac and a Lamb Flatbread. The ambiance is a perfect blend of sophistication, and friendly casual. It's all been said before and will all be said again, nothing more to add other than another round of Cantabrian anchovies please. "What do you mean we ate them all"? Worth every penny you spend here and it's great value.

Everyone knows Dante is known for their Negronis, and I've been here for late night as well as Negroni hour. Both are great times to come, and the drinks are just very very good. My favorite two Negronis so far have been the Chocolate and the Unlikely. I want to try some of the baller Negronis, but for now I've had some good ones. The staff is very good and experienced. Even during very busy times, like Negroni hour on the weekend, they are able to seat you quickly, move you around if needed, and get your order taken. It's really good.

I've been trying to call them for hours. Just get their ai generated voicemail. Unacceptable

Whipped Orange Juice is the only way I will be drinking it moving forward. WOW. Great vibes in this joint and a solid happy hour
Be the first to ReplyI Can't say enough about the staff at Dante.
I had reached out to the events team to plan my husband's 40th birthday a few months in advance and they were attentive, accomodating and a pleasure to work with. Once the evening came the weather had put a damper on our event and a few people had to cancel. We walked in feeling a little low but the staff at Dante truly went above and beyond and made it an incredibly memorable night. The food was fantastic, the drinks were expceptional and the service was so warm and attentive. everyone from the host, to our server to the bartenders truly went above and beyond to make it such a special night. Looking forward to coming back for many years to come.

Super cute cafe for a date or meeting up with friends! I went for brunch and we were seated quickly without a reservation. The Burrata was okay and honestly could have it better elsewhere. The fluffy pancakes were amazing! I loved how the outside was crisp and with the edges caramelized and the inside was fluffy as named. I would definitely go back for the pancakes! Menu is definitely interesting and overall it seemed like everyone enjoyed their food!
Be the first to ReplyNice cool historical spot.
The food looked pretty good. Came for drinks. Ordered 2 margaritas and specified Don Julio. My wife and I both thought something was missing. Ordered 2 more, and watched the process. Saw no orange liquor of any kind added. Bill came to over $100.00 for 4 incorrectly made simple cocktails. Walked down the street and had correctly made margaritas for less $$.

Given that it's nearly impossible to grab a seat here, I feel lucky to have gotten to try Dante! I came in planning to just get one drink but had to capitalize on the opportunity and ended up getting another. For the first round I tried the plum sazerac and a friend got the Appletini. I personally liked the appletini more but both were fruity and fun!! The plum drink definitely had a stronger alcohol taste. Both drinks were strong!!! For the second round I got the margarita and my friend got the clementine campari. Both were great and I think the margarita was my favorite drink of the night!! It was super fresh and delish!!! The drinks here were admittedly quite good but is it worth a 2 month wait or $180 last minute res, no. Definitely worth checking out if you are able to snag a seat but there's so many other great cocktail bars if you aren't able to get into Dante .

Enjoyed the ambiance and drinks, but found the food to be mediocre and too bland for my taste. The service, while acceptable, didn't stand out. My primary concern arose when dealing with the card machine, which "conveniently" defaulted to a 20-30% tip setting. While I typically tip 18% for okay service, 20-25% for good service, and 30% for an excellent service, it made me question whether a 20% tip was justified for service falling into the "okay" category.
Be the first to ReplyI had a mixed experience at Dante on Wednesday night.
It was quite busy and the hostess let us know the only seating available was outside - totally fine, had a great vibe out there - but no heat! It was a chilly March night but we decided to tough it out. There were three tables available, for whatever reason, we were seated at the one on top on a bulkhead which felt strange. The server who was quite busy greeted me immediately - he was extremely on the ball throughout our entire visit. I had a glass of champagne which was oddly bland. We ordered the flatbread, potatoes and shishitos to split. The portions were really generous, but the food was just OK. It honestly could be that the food just got cold very quickly from being outside and that's why it fell a bit flat. The cocktails were delish; very inventive and tasty. Our server and the hostess flagged to us that seats had opened at the bar and offered to move us inside unprompted which was great. All in: service - excellent. Food - so so. Drinks - great.

Came to Dante for pre dinner drinks and I think it was a most wise choice. We sat at the bar and the staff was very busy but still found time to be friendly and personable while tending to a million different things. They cocktails were all superb and expertly crafted. We fully intend on returning. Both for drinks and some food next time. Make sure it's on your MacDougal list! ENJOY!!!
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous ambiance perfect for a date or night with friends.
Close to great bars if you're in the mood after! Got great service once, and pretty bad service the other. Food is decent and filling :)
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful decor here, very classy.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful. There are not a lot of tables inside so getting a reservation here is ALWAYS a challenge. There are tables outside that helps during the warmer weather. We were there in a Sunday evening and because they kept the front door open, we were freezing cold at our inside table with the draft blowing right through. The food selection is decent, with many classic Italian dishes. However, it's quite overpriced with not the best quality. The chicken cutlet in the Chicken Parm plate was super thin, mostly breading you're tasting. Also, the dish does not come with any pasta which is very odd. We had to order a separate dish of pasta to get some. The Apple pie was delicious with the ice creams, the pie had a nice croissant type crust.Service was good here.
Be the first to ReplyI get the hype behind this place now.
We came on a Monday night around 6 and it was still a wait to get seated inside (bar or otherwise). Though it was a bit chilly, we still opted to sit outside to get a drink and wait it out (fyi they are not allowed to turn on their heated lamps so dress warmly!) After 25-30 minutes, 2 seats opened at the bar so we sat inside and ordered more drinks and food. The burger and salmon tartare were both delicious, absolutely nothing to critique. I got the mezcal martini, which was served so intricately with a small glass resting in ice for the leftover martini. Ambience wise, cannot be beaten, such a lively and vibrant date spot. I also got a kick out of their exfoliating handwash, the beads in the soap were definitely a nice surprise!

Sat at the bar and had a great small chat with the bartender. Love the pancake! And the coffee martini was good.

Our party of 7 had an incredible experience!Michelle coordinated our affair and was incredibly easy to work with and professional. We had a preset menu which magically appeared on the restaurants website. The food was delicious and plentiful. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating and catered to any special dietary requirements.I can't single out any single dish because they were all fantastic, including the chicken, Parmesan, steak, and flatbreads. I am sure the tiramisu was top shelf also but I was too stuffed to partake.I am a huge Negroni fan and the extensive Negroni menu was lots of fun We will definitely be returning for another large party function

One of my favorite New York restaurants! Been here a handful of times so I knew that this was the place that I wanted to have my 26th birthday and it did not disappoint. Not only is the food phenomenal but the service is also exceptional. I would recommend this place to everyone
Be the first to ReplyTerrible place to go for groups.
Poor service. Don't take more than four credit cards so a large group has to come up w some weird way to figure things out. Don't go, don't go, don't go. Also no Diet Coke. Terrible.

Was super excited to try their after seeing it everywhere on social media... Unfortunately, the food was not what my friend and I expected. My granola came with only a few pieces of fruit, and my friend noted that she had significantly less burrata than she'd received when she'd visited previously. The interior was, however, super cute, and the waiters were very friendly and helpful! Would definitely come back for drinks in the future.

Solid drinks, good food and a great hostess making it all work. The Cobb salads are huge and the potatoes were delicious. Great vibe throughout.

The setup and tables both inside and out are super pretty so we decided to stop by while walking around the area. There was a table open, and we were able to take it without a reservation. The waiters and staff were all very kind and attentive and we ordered drinks and desserts. The cocktails are perfectly crafted and strong with just the right amount of sweetness. We also tried the tiramisu which is excellent and the consistency, flavor and presentation are all fantastic.I absolutely enjoyed the products that they use in the bathrooms for soap and the hand sanitizers at the table, they are deliciously scented and boutique quality which enhanced the overall experience.Make sure to check it out!
Be the first to ReplyDante is a nice place to eat.
I came here for dinner. The ambiance was chill and fun. The service was okay. The food was good but some of the vegetable side dishes were way too salty. I recommend the focaccia and tagliatelle with a martini or negroni.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely overhyped.
It's cool because of the history and aesthetic but the actual experience wasn't great. We were seated outside underneath a leaky scaffolding. We each ordered a summer cocktail - they looked pretty but weren't balanced. The drinks also and out AFTER the food. Ordered:- prosciutto and melon: fine. Exactly what it tastes like in countless restaurants but a solid standard - Verde spicy lamb sausage flatbread: this was recommended to us. It was VERY oily, has like three tiny pieces of dried up old sausage on it, and was pretty bland - pistachio pesto pasta: also incredibly oily (like drowning in it), pretty bland, and a very very small portion- side of shishito peppers: also very bland and oily When they found out we weren't having a second round of drinks, they told us we needed to leave because they wanted to get the table back which I found SO rude since a time limit wasn't mentioned when we were being seated. I would definitely pass. Super overhyped for expensive, not good food.
