Tables by the window were very nice and good food
I visited them this past Saturday. The restaurant didn't have many customers. I ordered fried shrimp with corn, beef with bean curd, pig feet soup, dry pork with steam rice and port belly with cucumber as appetizer. They were delicious. The service was good and could be better by filling up the tea more often! Thank you!

Daxi Sichuan really is the most experiential way to eat Chinese food! This place is very authentic. We forgot we were even in NY! It was like we traveled to China as soon as we walked in. Super homey and welcoming. Our favorite spot to eat was by the window during Sunset. The food was super flavorful and delicious! I was also daring and had pig ear!!!!! Soooo cool!!!!! ( I enjoyed it and it was nicely presented, reminded me of chicken with a cartilage texture ). My favorite dessert was the Ice Jelly in Brown Sugar and the Seafood Crispy Rice Soup was big enough for two people. I also loved the Chinese Mushroom, nice and spicy!
A wonderful experience!!!

Calling them cheaters maybe too harsh but I won’t return.
Three aging women having lunch. My friend said to the staff as she was ordering the Boiled Fish with Picked Veg, “… we’d like to have the small.” – this dish comes in two sizes.
“Yes, small would do.” We said. We don’t and couldn’t eat a lot.
But when xicao (西曹) soup dish came in this giant bowl, we knew instantly it’s the large size. We asked why but the staff just shrugged and walked away. We let it go. But we won’t return.
The food: average.
The serving plates and bowls are pretty neat. The tea pot is heavy which I don’t mind – good exercise for my bicep, tricep 4-cep … hey … summer is coming -:).
The decoration: above average in Flushing. Good ceiling height. But the booths by the window are uncomfortable: too far from the table and the couches are too low for the table. The worst: the glassed tables have greasy streaks. I had visited it when it was first opened and sat on the table, which had no glass.
The service: was subpar. I have to signal for tea all the time, especially when it wasn’t busy at all. They didn’t offer rice, not even asked if we need or want rice. Again, we have to ask for it.
Bathroom: a public bathroom, a little walk from the restaurant. Cute washbowls (the white towels underneath are ugly…) but a dirty bathroom.
There was a dirty dish station by our table: I’m wondering, the restaurant is nearly empty, why can’t they move it elsewhere or do NOT throw in the dishes n chopsticks. Unless, they meant to chase us away. We were there for less than two hours.
The elevators are SLOW, very slow. Ten minutes slow. Parking is in the basement for the mall.
Great Food, Great Decor, Great Staff.
The restaurant is beautiful, I love the chairs and decor. It is very spacious. I ordered the Stir Fried Cabbage, It was DELICIOUS!!!!! I strongly suggest it if you are vegan, vegetarian, you like vegetables or you are just not sure what to order. I truly enjoyed it.
Be the first to ReplyCame for afternoon tea (its like spicy dim sum but in the afternoon)
Great Atmosphere, modern and "hip" looking! Tables are very large with lots of space
in between. There are window seats but these were full that day.
Great food. Afternoon tea on weekends is a good choice since
you can try small servings of their dishes and see what you like.
Elegant teapots full of Japanese style matcha tea were perfect and "on the house".
Be sure to order some rice so the small portions won't leave you
feeling hungry, and to balance the spiciness of the cuisine.
Also if you have fear of small portions as I do, see what is on other
tables and point to or ask about the things you like (discretely of course!).
The things we ordered had a perfect mixture of different flavors:
sweet and spicy, salty and spicy, sour and spicy, and the ever present
tingly and spice from the Sichuan peppercorns.
Service was slow... Repeatedly really hard to get a waiter/waitress attention but service was helpful and not at all rushed.
