Super delicious.
Also super expensive. The vibes however-- immaculate. It feels like you've gone back in time to an old Hollywood steakhouse. The service is great, ambience is perfection, and everything from the art to the music is on theme. Garlic bread is su

Delicious food and one of the best ambiances I've experienced. First impression: it's dark. Like, really dark. The only light comes from the glowing bar and a candle at each table. On paper that might sound like a problem, but it actually

Although it is noted in very fine print on their website, it was not mentioned at all when I called to cancel our reservations. A $25 fee per person was charged to my credit card and we didn't even step into the restaurant.
Came here on a weeknight.
The ambience was on point and so was the food. Their old fashions are super delicious. Highly recommend this steakhouse if you're into vintage nostalgia.

We stopped going there because of a waiter who reprimanded us for using our phone light to read the bill. He said that many famous movie stars go there and the light would offend them. Give me a break!!!!!!!
Delicious food, exquisite taste, and amazing quality.
Our waitress was super nice, and she was very sweet and accommodating. While the food was absolutely stellar and the service of the utmost quality, it was, however, extremely crammed in and tight. There was no wiggle room and I was having a hard time

DineLA 2025 A friend asked me if I was available to go to Dear John's and as I've never been, and I gotta eat ... it's how I ended up dining here. As for parking, I opted for street parking on Sepulveda. Metered but only until 6PM. O
Went here for girls night out during Dine LA.
The service was amazing from valet to our waiter Angel. Angel was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. Our tequila lemon drops were on point! The food was DELICIOUS from the Rockefeller oysters and Cesar salad to the rib

Just.. wow. Our bartender Erick couldn't have been more hospitable, even while he was training another excellent bartender. The chicken parm & peanut butter dessert were some of the best I've had. Will definitely be back.

My son and I went there to sit at the bar, each have a glass of wine and split the filet and a caesar salad. Food was good, love the vibe of the room but won't be going back ever. Why? When I got the bill, I was charged $34 for the caesar sa

Never heard of this place prior. Driving up to this place it appeared the writing was on the wall ! We opted to sit outside in their patio sitting in uncomfortable chairs and the patio itself was in need of repair. To be honest the patio area was not

This was my first visit to Dear John's, although I have visited its seafood-forward sister restaurant, Dear Jane's in Marina del Rey. Dear John's was opened in 1962 by actor John Harlowe, a friend of Frank Sinatra's. It has been
A truly forgettable meal for $100 each!
Went to this upscale packed restaurant for the very first time on “Dine in LA” for the special $65 dinner. First course was bland unexciting chopped romaine they called Caesar salad. Unexciting. I was sort of pushed into trying the “chicken pa
Not great...
It's all in the atmosphere, I guess. It's pitch black when you walk into the restaurant. The tables are very close together and the space is very small. (I was thinking about those restaurants that do that pitch black thing...) Very old
Food and service were amazing.
Beautiful ambiance. Recommend making a reservation! The oysters were our favorite appetizer.
this was smackingly good.
steaks on point, sides on POINT. that creamed spinach almost had a mfr creaming you feel me. service was on point, super helpful and down to earth. our server started drinking on his own and we were like hell yeah brother. would definitely come back.
Came for the first time the other day.
Valet parking is a little pricey but the attendant was nice and welcoming. The atmosphere of this restaurant was great had a jazz lounge feel to it very dark with candle light at every table. It is a small place so it gets loud with all the people in
I love Dear John's! The French onion soup is superb.
I'm getting excited thinking about it now. The ribeye is seasoned really well and so so tasty! The sides are all good to share with the group. My only complaint is that the drinks could be stronger. You pay a lot for a cocktail and they are not at

First time here a few weeks ago and it's pretty iconic from what I understand. Food was good, ambience what you'd expect from an old-school Italian place. Reminds me of something out of an old mob movie. It was great. Service was a little slow but w
The steaks are great and expertly prepared.
The German potatoes are outrageously delicious. And you can believe the craft cocktails. The service was excellent. I can't remember our server's name, but he was engaging, a real raconteur. We were seated outdoors, and almost as soon as we sat, it

The history and ambiance are the only reason it gets 3 stars. The food is atrocious. I was strongly recommended the filet and ordered it medium rare, and it was extremely dry - no juices at all. It reminded me of wedding food made for 200 guests. It'
These types of steakhouses won't exist for much longer.
The charm, character, and ambiance is unmatched. The drinks are great. The ceases salad made table side was delicious. The steak was a bit fatty but worth the experience. I would go back. Must sit inside though.

What an amazing old school vibe and great service.
Best French onion soup. The steak was crap. It's way over priced. They can't offer cheesecake with that lame other kind of cheese... might return for soup and a burger!
Dear John's is a classic steakhouse with an old-school vibe.
The steak was cooked to perfection, and the sides were simple yet delicious. The service was outstanding, and the ambiance was charming and nostalgic.

What a great restaurant! Very nostalgic of sinatra times.
caesar salad made table side was great! prime steak was great as well. steak fries you have to get! Also, they had special of veal osso buco an that was by far the best thing we had! We will definitely be back :)
Reviews talk about the great bar.
Our classic martinis came in a small champagne glass. Always disappointing as the pour is short. Filets were good but at $65? Not worth it IMHO. Inside is super loud and tight seating. We sat outside and with heaters blaring it was ok however we were

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Dear John's Culver City at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Dear John's Culver City page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.

* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* GallantAnswer60, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* GallantAnswer60 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to GallantAnswer60 for any questions Peter may have as GallantAnswer60 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation

* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Dear John's Culver City!
