Dinings SW3 London Reviews
Memorable dining experience with first rate service
Exceptional! This was our first visit, taking advantage of the no corkage charge on a Monday offer. The food could not have been better, the service was truly delicious and we shall certainly be back - very soon.
Perfect Food with Great Atmosphere
Fresh sushi and creative combinations. So far, the best Japanese restuarant and atmosphere Iโve found in London. It seems many places either go for minimalist โpureโ Japanese cuisine, take it too far with combinations of flavors, fish, toppings, etc, or are too focused on flipping tables. (see my Zuma review) Dinnings SW3 is that unique restuarant the hits just the right beat. This was my second visit and equally as good as the first. While I rarely focus on the salads, you do not want to miss the spinach and seaweed salad with sweet sesame soy or the baby gem lettuce and mixed radish salad with wasabi vinaigrette. Noodles on plates at nearby tables looked good, but I skipped them. The various tunas are all amazing as is anything with salmon. Highly recommend the A5 Wagyu beef, chili miso and sweet soy hand roll along with the Maguro Maki roll, premium loin Yellowtail sashimi, Chu toro sashimi, premium loin salmon sushi with crรจme fraรฎche, double crab roll, and something I canโt remember the name of which featured hand-picked crab in four mini taco shells. For dessert, do not miss the mango and lime parfait. Perfectly refreshing. The lychee martini was delicious and not too sweet. It is a busy spot but you donโt feel rushed or crowded. Cool vibe athmosphere without being pretentious. Youโll be very happy you went.
ยฃ188 later and I walked out starving.
Decided to celebrate our date night by going to Dinning SW3. The service was wonderful. Very attentive and kind. However the service was so long, we genuinely walked in hungry and walked out starving. For ยฃ188 for two people, you would expect more for your money. The miso soup was the worst I have ever had. The wagyu burger was so small, after two of them I wished I had ordered 20, Oh and it cost me ยฃ23 for 2. The sushi rolls were bland and had no taste to them. A very disappointing experience, even though the ambience and staff were top notch.
Avoid at Peak times for dinner. Weekends, Christmas etc. The kitchen is very slow.
Dinings was our favorite Japanese restaurant in London since its humble beginnings in Hourtcourt street. We always went with our family and looked forward to going again. However, this december, we had a terrible experience. We ordered the food and wine but food did not come for the first 20 minutes. We finished the half of the wine. We waited another 20 minutes for the second dish, and another 20 minutes for the third dish. We warned the waiters and managers and asked them to speed up please. But we waited waited waited and food did not come. We felt like the food is rationed and we are begging for our right to eat. The kids became grumpy, we finished the wine before the main courses arrived. The waiters were extremely friendly and nice, they did all they could do feel us comforted. But they told us that the kitchen is overloaded and the kitchen has a backlog. In the end after 2 hours we could finish our food and left the place very dissatisfied and angry.
Cool place in a cool part of town
Cool place in a a cool part of town. Given the distance, is more a once a year place for us but we always enjoy it. For the starters the menu is always changing except for the tar tar chips (think mini tacos full of something delicious like Waygu or tuna belly) and though the dish continues to change the miso aubergine is always delicious. We favour the sushi as a main. We went for 8 pieces headlined by an off menu wagyu foie gras (recommend two each), smoked eel and scallop tamaro. Get them to sear the fish like the tuna.
Mediocre food, good service
Food was unfortunately mediocre at best. Sushi was underwhelming, the sticky rice and salmon that was ordered for starters was hard and barely edible. The meal was overpriced. However, service was stellar. Our waiter was attentive and quick, and the ambience was great. Would recommend Dinings SW3 for cocktails, but would not come back again for food.
Best fusion restaurant in London
Unbelievable couple dinner, beautiful place very high quality of food in my opinion one of the best restaurants in London, great mini burgers, crispy rice and wagyu tacos
Absolutely great
Fresh and delicious food, waiters are so kind and respectful, everything was perfect! Such a nice atmosphere, best food Iโve had in a while.
Surprise discovery
It was a surprise discovery and it is really good. The food was very fresh and tasty. The have good seasonality dishes and many lively sushi too.
Food and service were fantastic.
Went a Tuesday at 8:30 with no reservation. Got us right in even though restaurant was busy. Friendly and informative service!
HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE MANAGERS VERY RUDE BROKEN BOTTLES NEAR OUR TABLE STAFF UN PROFESSIONAL TABLES SMALLER AND DIRTY VERY NOISY VERY EXPENSIVE PLACE I NOT RETURN
Good Japanese Restaurant in Chelsea
Good Japanese restaurant in Chelsea that stands out for its sobriety and elegance. The black cod, the soft shell club roll and the sukeroku Mixed Fish roll are interesting. The wagyu beef bun is also notable. Attentive and fast service. The bill is average.
A memorable and unexpected treatโฆ
A marvellous and thoroughly enjoyable experience with delicious food, well paced and excellent staff. The cocktail beforehand was a great entre to the main event.
A dinner to remember in a hidden gem.
The service from arrival to leaving was excellent. Helpful and attentive without being too much. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty, all well presented. Hardest part was choosing. So we stuck with variations of our favourite seafood. The mini steamed Lobster burger buns, soft shell crab rolls, salmon and Scallop etc. We will have to return next time we are in London.
falling for something
This restaurant was absolutely excellent first of all it is located in a somewhat hidden street when you enter it seems calm but you discover a very charming restaurant below The service is very good the food excellent but especially the desserts, each one more good than the other and not cloying the Portuguese waitress was great favorite for this restaurant
Disappointing
The staff were nice, the starters which were the tacos and the sashimi was lovely, but I was shocked at the noodles which I had for main- it was a meagre portion of cold noodles and a warm broth, I added the duck, which was three small pieces and it was ยฃ47 - I canโt get past that and it spoiled it for me, perhaps if the menu had been explained to us it would have steered us to better choices, I am happy to pay for quality but that just was overpriced more style than substance. It was a great shame as we were really looking forward to it.
Literally the best meal I have ever eaten
Fresh; delicate fish and shellfish, flawless cocktails, authentic Japanese dining, impeccable service, astonishing presentation and a real buzz in the atmosphere. I couldnโt change a thing, the head chef has a real passion for what he cooks and understands the ingredients at a cellular level. This is two-Michelin-star dining, and how that hasnโt been accredited yet is beyond me! Well done, I will be back again and again!
Absolutely spectacular experience, in my top 5 restaurants
Absolutely spectacular experience, in my top 5 restaurants list. The A5 Wagu is second only to what is found in very high end establishments in Japan.
Always top!
Amazing food and service. I go there 3-4 times a year and is always great food and extremely professional and kind service. I specially love all the nigiris and the wagyu mini burgers. Will continue to go there many more times in the future if they keep their brilliant food and top service.
Some of the best Japanese food ever.
Great service, friendly, super professional. Impeccable Sommelier and wine list. Cool vibe. Not to miss!
One of the best!
Just had another wonderful family meal at Dinings SW3. Super lovely, friendly and attentive front of house staff and amazing, inventive food from the skilled kitchen. Lilla is always so warm, welcoming and kind and the other waiting staff and sommelier were also fabulous. Easily one of the best restaurants in London - the food never ceases to please and is presented so beautifully. This place is a real gem and we canโt wait to return!
