Bland food.
They charge you for chips and salsa. It was expensive for what you got. Paloma lacked flavor. We wanted to share fajitas. Don't. They are super small. Barely one person serving. Unfortunately won't recommend!

Our service was top notch! The food and beverages came out promptly even though the restaurant was busy. The beer was ice cold and the combo plate delicious. We sat on the dog friendly patio with beautiful views.

The waitress was very, very nice! The outdoor patio looked nice. Unfortunately, the food was terrible! The queso tasted like nacho cheese out of a jar. The shredded chicken had no Mexican spices. The burrito was missing the cheese inside. The rice was dry. My elotes (Mexican street corn) had no mayo, no lime juice, and barely any paprika I spent $60 on myself and it was by far the worst Mexican food I've ever had!

Spent 90 dollars for arguably the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The chicken had no flavor and tasted very low quality. I got the shredded chicken enchiladas and my date got the chicken tacos. She ate none of it. Drinks were ok. Service was good, but I would rather go to Taco Bell.

This was honestly one of the worst meals I've ordered in a while. Everything was so bland, no flavor, I should have went across the street to chipotle! Looked like freezer bag veggies, overcooked and under seasoned meat, no flavor to anything. Such a waste of money.

My whole family wanted to go to chipotle across the street after seeing the reviews of this place. However I convinced them it would be better here. Turns out the whole experience was beyond terrible! First of all the oil here was smelt in not only the chips, but the fries and tacos as well! The order took about over an hour to come in the first place and everything was stale and old. The oil really needs to be replaced and they cannot serve the same quality old food they did to us. After our order finally came, it was all screwed up! They messed up the hard-tacos to soft-tacos and forgot to put add-ins on everything. On top of this we were a strict vergetarian family and our order came very messed up. Not only did we have to send multiple items back after seeing the mess-ups and quality of food, but also took so long to prepare. Overall very disappointed from the quality, service, and attention to customer! DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!

From the guacamole to the nachos to the enchiladas that was the worst Mexican food I have had in over 40 years. I will never eat there again

Be the first to ReplyHonestly disappointed with the food.
It was rated the best Mexican food in Sedona and unfortunately I've had much better elsewhere. The guacamole and house nachos are standard. Nothing special to the taste and can make better nachos at home. The enchiladas were okay. I appreciate trying to incorporate veggies but the sauce was so bland. The only reason I gave 3 stars is for the excellent service. Our waitress and manager ensured our meals were vegetarian and clarified to the smallest details if things were cooked with meat (such as rice in chicken broth) or if the same fryer was used. They checked in multiple times and the timing was fast. The restaurant itself is very spacious to accommodate large groups but the price and taste of the meal aren't worth it.
Be the first to ReplyTo give this place one star is even a struggle.
This was, by far, the worst place we have ever eaten! Mexican cuisine is a joke! Food is extremely over priced! We ordered nachos for $17 and it was a plate of chips with some velveta cheese on top with squirts of sour cream and some beans with a little guacamole. The portion was the smallest plate of nachos we've ever seen. Their chips and salsa (for $8.00) come with "queso" which looks and tastes like velveta heated up and comes with no refills on chips. We also got their flautas ($14.99) on the appetizer menu and it was the size and look of 3 tiny taquitos from the frozen boxes at Costco. We were a party of 6 so they charged us 20% for a large party gratuity, but failed to tell us in advance they were doing that. I can't say enough how disgusted we were with the prices and quality of food that was served. I'm all about eating good food and don't mind paying for it when it's good! This, however, felt like we were totally taken advantage of with what we got for the price we paid.
Be the first to ReplySome of the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten.
Fajitas were so sweet and syrupy. Whyyyyy add sugar? The stark Prices were tiny little nubbins too. None of them were bigger than half an inch. Flavorless beans. No chips and salsa to the table. Skip it.

Delish guacamole and really great salsa

Was looking for a Mexican food place and was given a discount at a local store. I went to Don Diego with a party of 8 and was served Margaritas off of Tap and the burrito Carne Asada was the worst I ever had. Service was great and that was about it.

The food is bland and not authentic, which is a shame since it's so close to the border! I got a chicken and veggie quesadilla and it's was very bland. The service and the Cadillac margarita was excellent though.
Be the first to ReplyVery underwhelming.
Food was dry and bland and everything was very expensive. Insanely expensive for what we received. Do not recommend as there are many other (much better) places to eat in Sedona. 0 stars.

My family, my boyfriend, his family and I went here a little less than 2 weeks ago. 3 of us got the Birria Tacos. Honestly, it was a bit disappointing. The tortillas weren't the typical "orange-y" color of normal birria tacos. They tasted like normal tacos for the most part. The birria itself was pretty good. The tacos weren't necessarily bad, they were still pretty good. Just not what we expected/wanted and a bit expensive to be disappointed. Service was average. Wasn't too loud so the atmosphere was nice especially seeing the mountains outside the window.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location along 89a in sedona.
The patio is dog friendly and i was even able to order my dog a good sized dinner with chicken and veggies. We ordered the extra hot salsa, it will sure pack a punch. The portions and taste was great, and the view of the mountains was beautiful from our seat. It was colder when we arrived and a heater was placed for the table.

Stumbled upon this while while traveling the State of Arizona and stopped in Sedona for a day. I learned that the restaurant's original owner was connected to ZORRO! I ordered the chicken enchiladas combo which included two delicious enchiladas and beans and rice. We dined inside because it was a bit windy but there's a large outside dining area as well as a nice outside dining area for those with dogs. The service was excellent and food delicious. Stop by if you're in the area.

I wouldn't say it's a "must" to go here if you're wanting to eat delicious Mexican food. But with the convenience if you're already shopping in the area, and if you don't mind TexMex, this hits the spot.

Food is terrible couldn't come through to make a cheese quesadilla. Was not good food all around!
Be the first to ReplyI'm not even sure what we just ate.
We are from California and this is NOT Mexican food. Not even the rice and beans...how do you mess that up? It tastes like something I might find in rural Minnesota labeled as Mexican food. Or maybe if my great grandma from Germany cracked open her Betty Crocker cookbook in 1950 and attempted Mexican food without ever eating it. Lean Cuisine is a more authentic taste. And the worst part is we had to eat it because the meals were $18 each. I'm still scratching my head as to what we ate. If you're from middle America with a bland palette and have never eaten Mexican food before this might be for you.The staff was great but the food was not.
Be the first to ReplyLiving in Texas for 20 years I wasn't expecting much.
I prefer TexMex. But pleasantly surprised. Good chips and salsa, guacamole good but someone didn't mash all the avocado up real well, but overall really good. My chicken sandwich was super good, spicy and perfectly cooked, great sandwich. I know a sandwich at a Mexican restaurant. But like a said I wasn't expecting much. Great service! Great tequila and excellent side salad. Sitting outside was a bit chilly and the wind made the heater almost ineffective. Great views good service and I'd come back and try more items besides the sandwich
Be the first to ReplyThe chips, salsa and guacamole were amazing.
We also ordered the chicken tacos, they weren't bad but definitely want to try something different next time.

We were in Sedona for a quick weekend trip and had a random snow storm. We tried 5 restaurants and all were closed "due to weather" so we were super excited to find this place open. Smother burrito and fajitas were great and we took advantage of the $5 margarita special.

The server was friendly and sat us down quickly and took our order. We chose the Queso fries and the chips and salsa as an appetizer. The Queso fries stole the show ! Hands down order them ! Order two if you have a large party. We had the pleasure of getting the House margarita for $5 due to us getting a entree. As far as entrees we went with the chicken quesadillas. The chicken was seasoned very well and the loaded the quesadillas up with shredded cheese. We we're on a tight schedule and was able to receive our food fresh and hot within 15mins.
