Dr. Smood is your classic health food cafe with some food
Dr. Smood is your classic health food cafe with some food options as well. The cafรฉ is clean and provides an inviting atmosphere to study and get work done. They have complementary WiFi, too. I usually go in the morning so I get their superfood oatmeal which contains oats, chia seeds, maca, flaxseeds, sacha inchi, lucuma, banana, blueberry, cinnamon and honey. Their avocado toast is a solid option as well. Dr. Smood doesn't have regular milk, instead serving their proprietary plant-based "mylks." I'm not a huge fan of this, and some of them such as their almond mylk have a strange aftertaste. Out of all of their mylk options, I recommend the cashew. When I do need a pick-me-up from Dr. Smood I'll usually order their iced matcha latte which is good.

If you have a nut allergy, make sure you don't get anything with the vegan mayo in it. Nowhere on the menu items with vegan mayo does it say they have nuts inside, nor do they even have a nut logo on the items on their website's allergen menu, but I called and asked after eating one of their wraps and was told the vegan mayo has cashews inside. I'm now preparing to fight for my life for the next few hours. Please label that the items have nuts so someone with a worse allergy than mine doesn't have their throat close and die.
Be the first to ReplyDr. Smood is a great alternative to the average coffee
Dr. Smood is a great alternative to the average coffee shop. I love that they have healthy options, so I can feel good about anything I order. I had a matcha green tea latte with almond milk. I also had a nice snack of protein avocado toast and chocolate coconut date balls. It was a perfect guilt free treat! The only thing that I would suggest is that they add more drink options. For example, the matcha is the only drink with tea. They could at least add a chai latte. I think that would make this the ideal neighborhood coffee spot.

Very peaceful place ,the ambiance was set to this chill vibe from the moment you walked, but the music volume was perfect. Service was good they were always busy, but when a customer stepped up to the counter, they would stop what they were doing and take care of them. When it comes to the food, I would recommend trying the turkey warp or the aguacato toast.

I asked a gentlemen taking the order to please not put bananas in our smoothy. He didn't communicate that with his teammate. When I got my smoothy it had banana in it. The lady remade it but she was coughing up a storm the whole time without covering her mouth. I don't mind we get tickles that we need to take care of but non of her teammates helped her at all. Now I'm concerned that I might get sick. I don't want to be rude but her teammates need to have her back and support there customers better. Not to mention two smoothies took longer than 20 min. The place is empty, help a girl out!

I paid nearly $50 for just three things:Smoked salmon toast - about 1-2 tiny pieces of salmon and 1 slice of avocado on each slice of thin bread, total of 4 slices of bread. I forgot to take a picture but there are plenty pictures of salmon toast on here so please take a look. Oat milk latte - worst oat milk latte I've ever tasted. I would rather drink anything but this. It tasted like expired bean soup with coffee flavor Aรงaรญ bowl - this one is the worst of the worst. There wasn't any aรงaรญ blended. As you can see it's basically all ice slushy with barely any flavor, and a few slices of banana with a few sprinkles of Goji berries. This is just straight up sad. I only eat healthy food and i only eat organic and pasture raised. Being healthy and organic is not an excuse to have bland, bad tasting food. This shop is a disaster.
Be the first to ReplyI was looking for a cozy coffee shop in the South Miami
I was looking for a cozy coffee shop in the South Miami area and found this place as I was driving around town. It's easily accessible as it's on a corner with plenty of street parking and garage parking. Upon walking in I felt a more sophisticated vibe about this place, which is nice, if you're into that. It took me a while to order something from the menu bc I couldn't find something that really called out to me. And everything is very overpriced. I ended up getting a bottle of coconut water that was $10. LOL. I'm not sure if this place is ever really busy during the morning or afternoon. I came in the evening around 4:30P and was the only one in there. Service was standard. Didn't offer to explain menu items or if I was looking for anything in particular like other places I have been to. Overall, posh place, not my jam, and I probably won't be going back.
Be the first to ReplyWorst oat milk latte I've ever had.
With no line of customers, it took 15 minutes for it to be made. I ordered extra hot, and it was barely warm. But after tasting it again, I realized that it was also extremely sour. Was the oat milk spoiled? I don't know. I threw it out. Did I mention that the AC was broken and they had their staff working in 100 degree temperatures? It was literally cooler outside than inside.

What happened to this place? I just went in and it was 76 degrees it was an oven inside. I asked them to make it cooler and they said they can't because corporate controls the AC. Looks like this company is going out of business they can't even afford to keep the store cool. Very odd.

Go-to spot for organic, hand-crafted nut milk lattes and iced coffees. Try the spicy eggplant jerky sandwich, it's made on house created spelt bread and it's truly remarkable! Lots of prepared ready-to-go options in the coolers in case you're in a hurry too.

Great food but this place is so expensive its offensive, makes you feel like a dummy for paying the prices :) you start to question your existence and wonder why you didn't just buy an avocado and toast at whole foods up the street and make your own damn avocado toast. Dr Smood get your costs under control! or don't , I'll probably still go and pay $25 for 1/4 of an avocado and some mediocre coffee and mylk. Thanks for ruining my lyfe.

Although little on the pricey side Avocado Toast (1slice) Small cup of soupSmall cappuccinoclose to $30.
Be the first to ReplyA year ago I would have rated Dr Smood five stars.
Today, I was disappointed by the cafe I had frequented for years. Inflation is definitely affecting all prices and it would be understandable if the food quality remained the same. Why an iced matcha latte is $8 is beyond me - so ridiculously expensive. My protein avocado toast was a sloppy mess. Worst of all the bread used to be EVERYTHING, and I truly believe the recipe was altered as the bread doesn't taste the same. I was left so disappointed and saddened because this was one of my favorite places. Will not be returning; too expensive and not keeping up with quality.

Lol kinda pathetic I paid $9 for this, at least give me a full avocado if you're gonna charge that much for it
Be the first to Replythis is my favorite place to eat of EARTH.
the ingredients are fresh, the food is nutrient-dense and you do not have to feel any guilt for eating here!

About my second time here and no complaints, person on register knew exactly what to offer me since I wasn't sure what to get. She recommended and iced mocha with oat milk (they informed me that the milk taste like pancake batter) and let me tell you it was delicious! (also complimented my tattoos which was a nice gesture) I'll definitely be passing by again.

I've passed by to coral gables location and loved it so much so I decided to pass by this location since it was near by and wow! Amazing customer service, I was greeted upon entering and existing, as well as delicious food! I ordered a protein avocado toast and a latte with oat mylk to go and look how beautiful. I definitely recommend this location or the coral gables, staff is super knowledgeable about the menu which makes it much easier to order!

No oat milk available they gave my order with missing items, menu isn't so easily understandable, it wasn't bad but it wasn't what I was expecting from a cafe vibe kinda place.
Be the first to ReplyAesthetically nice, would not recommend the coffee.
I understand they want to be organic but they lack other very generic organic options that aren't only nut milks, I guess they want to be somewhat vegan? Makes no sense to be "dairy free" then in the same token offer turkey and smoked salmon.

the ingredients are fresh, the food is nutrient-dense and you do not have to feel any guilt for eating here! I go about 4 times a week. I am obsessed! The only thing you have to be mindful of is that the prices are not that cheap (but worth every penny!)
Be the first to ReplyOver priced ($12) for the worst smoothie I've ever had.
Not blended at all.. still has whole chunks of ice. Check out the pictures below. Will NOT be coming back.
Be the first to ReplySubpar and a waste of money.
I payed $10+ for something I could have made home for a fraction of the cost. Story of Miami, plenty of aesthetic places that lack in great food. The only reason I didn't give it a 1 was because it was edible at least.
Be the first to ReplySome vegans are more vegans than others.
This was not bd at all. We finished our Saturday morning run and, as usual, went in search of sustenance. Today's pick: Dr Smood (which I hadn't even noticed before. I got in, saw the menu. Picked a "Pole Caught Tuna" sandwich (whatever that means and a hot cacao (which the server felt the need to clarify is "kind of like hot chocolate". I ratified my order...And then the server asks which non-dairy milk I want "because we're a vegan restaurant and we don't carry regular milk".Baffled, I asked: "if this is a vegan place, what did I just order thinking it was tuna?" (They also had a chicken sandwich in the menu, and salmon toast, I believe).Long story short: this is not a vegan restaurant, most of their options are actually vegan-friendly, and they use vegan mayo and no dairy products, but the tuna is tuna, the chicken is chicken, and the salmon is salmon.I do like the place, my tuna sandwich was good and I saw an avocado toast with salmon that looked tasty and whose devourer seemed happy about (though it seemed to me to be on the "too little" side of things. The cacao drink was interesting, though not my cup o tea...It has cacao butter, maple sirope, ย cacao powder, sea salt, coconut milk. ย It is ย little bit bitter for me, but overall an interesting take. It's nice to see a vegan place with non-vegan options, for a change
Be the first to ReplyIt's just not that good.
I don't mind paying more and supporting local businesses, but the latte was really gross and honestly kind of hurt my stomach a bit after. $5.80 for a subpar very small latte? No thanks. I'll try another venue. Decor is cool, but that's about it.
