Dulse and Brose Portree Reviews
Taking a bath in the Jus
Forget the Old Man of Storr. The braised Ox cheeks at Dulse and Brose are the biggest highlight on the Isle of Skye. The jus was so good I wanted to take a bath in it. π€£ Perfect evening and that was all because of the magnificent staff. Thanks for
A rewarding dining experience in Portree.
A rewarding dining experience in Portree. We had blade of beef and chicken balmoral entrees with a bottle of recommended red wine. Would return!
Great!
Lovely experience. Very kind staff, beautiful settings, great atmosphere. The sticky toffee pudding was our favorite we've had so far in the UK.
Dulce & Brose is Highly Recommended!
Dulce & Brose is one of the finest restaurants we have ever visited; our dinners were world class and the service was very friendly & helpful... everything from our starters, through our dinners of venison & beef were great. Highly rec
Pros: Fairly simple menu.
Salmon trio has some unique flavors if you like smoked fish. Lamb shank was nice. Cons: parking is awful/non existent if anyone is in town. In summer forget about parking all together. The sort of place that asks if you have a reservation when the w

Food was amazing the presentation was fantastic. I had the duck special which was cooked perfectly with knochi which was so tasty. Lamb shank also looked delicioua. The manager and 2 girls on shift were brilliant. Recommended.

Feather blade of beef was delicious, but might be a small portion for some people. Water was pay by the jar (even tap), so we were parched by the end. Sticky toffee pudding was a letdown--slightly overdone and served with a TINY portion of Java ice c

Fab food
Fabulous food and service, the Sole was delicious and the mussels were also really good (enormous portion) Expensive but fairly priced for the area. The front of house staff were all lovely.
Lack of service
The service was very poor from start to finish. They had run out of 2 mains by the time we got there and we had an early reservation, and by the time we left it was up to 5 unavailable with a smallish menu. Had to ask twice for our drinks which wasnβ
Amazing Meal & Wonderful Team!
We had such a fantastic experience at Dulse & Brose during our stay in Portree. The food was incredible β hot, fresh, and absolutely full of flavor. Every dish we tried was delicious and beautifully done. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming,
Fantastic, would recommend
We booked a table for Sunday dinner and were delighted with the roast dinner on offer. The vegetarian dish came with all the same full "Sunday roast" sides as the meats, which is a rare occurrence. Our whole party were satisfied and will de
Perfect Sunday roast
The best Sunday roast we've ever had (in particular the roast chicken breast!). Excellent service and will definitely be back soon.

Passed thru town today on our tour and our local guide said this place had the best pies - we ordered the beef & ale and the goat cheese spinach ... both were great. We also split a bowl of the Cullen skink which was also very good.
Nice little restaurant in Portree
We visited the Bosville twice. The first time for an evening meal at the Dulse &Brose after our exciting boat trip. The meal was lovely. I would say probably a little overpriced but it was good and that was the absolute main thing. The disches we
Stayed at the attached B&B and had breakfast here.
Much better than the typical B&B breakfast; greater variety as well as better quality.
So happy we got reservations here, they are reservation
So happy we got reservations here, they are reservation only and Portree is small so a lot of people got turned away. The food and flavors are from the Highlands and Skye and I loved their placement, its a map of Skye and some of the food produced in

Enjoyed our visit to Dulse and Brose, the restaurant in the Bosville hotel. The staff were friendly, polite, and prompt. I appreciated that the server gave my husband a whiskey recommendation as he is new to whiskey. A sweet ambiance - I liked the fl
Subpar food and obnoxious hostess.
My wife and I came for dinner this past Saturday and, despite having a 7:00 P.M. reservation, they made us wait for about a half hour while we both stared at a nearby empty table. No apologies or updates from the hostess were forthcoming. As for t
Nice restaurant in Portree.
Small and quaint. Menu isn't anything outrageous which is nice, makes it easier to pick from. We ordered the venison loin, Shepard pie, and mussels. All very good. Venison was very tender. Unique take on Shepards pie as well. The place only has
We had a 7:30pm reservation for a Friday evening table.
We were staying at the Cuillin Hills hotel and while walking over, someone in our party slipped and required a bandaid from the hotel. We walked back and phoned the restaurant to let them know we would be 5 minutes late. We did arrive at the restaura

Very pleasant evening
Great atmosphere, charming staff (especially our multi talented farmer/accountant/waiter) and good food, although a very limited menu which seems to be common on Skye (we suspect the country wide shortage of staff to blame). We would definitely go ba

Comfortable Atmosphere - Great Menu
Enjoyed a comfortable and quiet dinner. The artichoke and wild mushroom risotto with a glass of Rioja was a wonderful end to a day of traveling. Menu had a number of great options I wanted to try. Service and food was exceptional.
Excellent food, worth the wait
We were able to get a table at 5:30 without a reservation, so you can always try coming early to one of the Portree restaurants if you donβt have a reservation. The food was delicious, with many unique ingredients. We had the soup of the day and tw
A sure value
Better to make a reservation for this popular restaurant. Fast service, pleasant surroundings. The burger is original and the fish n chips delicious and very digestible.
Would recommend
Such a lovely restaurant. Amazing food, nice wine list, beautiful setting and the most perfect hospitality from Chris. Perfect!
Delicious
Delicious pan seared monkfish and then fresh bbq cod. Such a well designed restaurant and a warm, cosy atmosphere. Staff were professional and helpful. Absolute favourite place to stay and eat in Portree.
Warmth
We encountered this restaurant casually arriving in Portree after an exhausting drive from the southern most part of England. The warmth of the place was welcoming almost as much as the fantastic staff. A pleasant note in the roughness of the isle. T
Nice atmosphere, very disappointing food
The atmosphere and menu were good. The food was very poor. The sweet potato soup was dark brown, thick and unappealing. The burger was possibly the worst burger Iβve ever eaten - rock hard, overdone and tasteless. The beef cheek was also overcooked
Fantastic experience!
Our first night on the Isle of Skye couldnβt start better! We enjoyed every second of this incredible dinner with local food and sustainable raw produce. Couldnβt recommend more.
Great food and excellent service
Best place we have eaten on Skye. Great food, locally sourced produce and lovely atmosphere. The service was impeccable and Chris who served us had great knowledge of the local area and must dos during our visit.
Reservations are essential and parking can be difficult.
With a reservation we were seated quickly. Service was great and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The food is good, not great. The duck starter was very good. It was a confit leg and a fritter. She isn't a fan of duck and I had to take it

Great bar and restaurant.
Fresh and upscale in tired portree. Friendly service. Far better than other in-town options.
Nice dinner here.
A few good vegetarian options. The soup of the day was excellent, They make their own bread, which was great. Good service. But reservations are necessary. A nice environment for a hotel restaurent.
Stellar seafood restaurant with great views of Portree.
Seafood is super fresh and comes in many forms. The seafood platter is the best seller menu item, and I can completely understand why. You get about 6 different types of seafood in portions of 2 which are generous and delicious to eat with their arti
We were super lucky to get a reservation for the same night.
They are shorthanded and a little slow but the ambience is great. The waiters were super nice guys. And the food was amazing. We got the seafood platter appetizer and it was huge. Everything on it was really good. We were full after that and we still
