Experience started off so strong, I was so relieved all the reviews I had read were going to be wrong. We made a reservation three days before because it was one of the only restaurants available on a Thursday night. Unfortunately about half way through dinner, the experience went sharply and drastically downhill. Wine service was fast and house cab was good. Appetizers came out so fast, we were worried absolutely dinner coming out too soon. But the waiter paced the dinner perfectly and steaks arrived about 15 minutes after the apps. Unfortunately the wagyu ribeye arrived rare, almost purple, and we had ordered medium rare. No big deal, asked to have to cooked a few minutes more and waiter appeared fine with the request. Manager came back out with the steak and all was good... except we were then ignored almost completely for the next 30 minute. Ended up having to pay out bill at the hostess station. Meal was ok but for the price I expected way better everything. Would recommend skipping this restaurant unfortunately.
Be the first to ReplyNo wonder this was the only reservation available in the area
We returned from an all-day tour of Martha's Vineyard, and our two couples needed a place for dinner. After over a dozen calls, this was the only place where we could get a table. It didn't take long to understand why. The service was snobbish. There were hidden charges for everything, including water. The food was not equitable to the prices. We would eat fast food before returning.

I was a bit nervous to go because the reviews but they are wrong. Place has great ambiance and comfortable seating. Highly recommend reservations. Seated immediately. Service was top notch. Waitress (Crystal) was excellent. Food was really good and prices reasonable. Recommend the Sea Bass. Desert is a show if you order the Banana's Foster. Crystal makes it right at the table. Fun and tasty too.

While staying right across the street from here and per the concierge’s suggestion, we met friends here for dinner. It was a Wednesday night and they weren’t very crowded, we had the the place to ourselves around 6 PM. It got much busier by 7 PM. Service was very good, drinks were quite nice and refilled often. It was comfortable so we had a nice leisurely meal with friends which lasted a few hours. The food was very good and cooked perfectly. I had the Yellowfin Tuna, my wife had a filet with a stuffed baked potato about the size of Rhode Island. We would definitely recommend Eddie Merlot’s if you find yourself in the area. I see that they have several locations in several states, but I would not consider this a chain restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyGreat good/Mediocre Service
Food was delicious but very expensive. Look out for the hidden fees like no free water - $6.50 per bottle (only found this out when we received the check). No separate checks for large parties (we had 9 and only found this out when we received check even though server told us we would have individual checks)and 20% gratuities added. Also special of the night was surf and turf but we were charged separately for the steak (turf) and lobster (surf) for a total of $104! Service was just mediocre and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Even though food was outstanding, I would not go back for the above reasons.

The place got miceand the staff is so well aware of it. The food was dry. The waiter had 0 to none personality, while the manager acted like nice running around during dinner was no big deal.

Husband and I went here for an early anniversary dinner while in Boston. The ambience is wonderful- very upscale but not snooty. No uppity dress code. However, it comes with an expensive price tag - totally worth it. We had the fried shrimp appetizer- I forget the name- it was delicious. Our drinks were great. We ordered the steak dinner for 2-Our steak was cooked to perfection. Our waiter was so polite and helpful ( I don’t remember his name). I didn’t realize this was a chain restaurant until I started this review as we try to support local businesses wherever we go. However, I’d definitely eat here again.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good, staff were great
Commend this restaurant on their staff. We had the most loveliest waitress, who was really interested in where we were from (Australia), and helped us work out the places to see in Boston. Restaurant was very convenient to our hotel, almost across the road and the decor was lovely. Food was quite expensive, but we are finding that everything is more expensive now since covid.

Had a fantastic business dinner. We split bison and beef ribeyes, cape cod oysters, wedge salad, French onion soup, garlic mashed potatoes, and a beautiful bottle of Napa wine. Service was excellent. Highly recommend for a very special dinner.
Be the first to ReplyMade my kids sick ignored gluten allergy
Went specifically due to 3 family members having celiac! We’re here for thanksgiving dinner. Turkey and mashed potatoes came out with gravy on it. Sent back. Told they RAN out of mashed potatoes meals had “mashed sweet potatoes “ specifically asked if gluten free told yes. Was actually sweet potato casserole so kids got sick that night. At end of meal (2 hours after ordering) they were out of creme brûlée! Only gluten free dessert so for $50 meal price kids got sorbet. This was the worst thanksgiving dinner of our lives they do not take celiac disease seriously!

Delicious food! Great service and atmosphere. Steaks are great quality and menu is extensive. I’m a steak lover and this place did not disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly service, great food
My son and I had dinner here last Saturday. We were very thankful to get a table here as a few restaurants we tried beforehand were totally booked. They were able to find a table for us near the bar (which sat 4 so I appreciated them giving it to us). Despite the restaurant being incredibly busy, our order was taken by Diego promptly. He was super friendly and very efficient. He has a degree from Northeastern in International Business and Hotel Management. My son had the Mojo Shrimp and Scallops and I had the Blackened Salmon. Both meals were delicious and we had a lovely evening.

My wanted an early dinner reservation in the Boston Seaport prior to going to the theater. Eddie Merlot’s was available so we thought we would try the establishment. We knew nothing about it. The service was exceptional. The food was good and you weren’t rushed even as it got busy. It is a block or so off the main road in the seaport area but easily accessible. Additionally, for a steakhouse, it didn’t “break the bank”. Overall, I think this is another good dining option in the Seaport area.
Be the first to ReplyGreat steak dinner before the concert
Our family of 5 dined here before seeing a concert down the street at Leader Bank Pavilion. Arrived at our reservation time of 5 pm and was seated right away. There were at least 3 other parties eating early there before the same concert. Service by Amine and Mario was exemplary. We ordered caesar salads, clam chowder, 2 wagyu rib eyes, 1 rib eye, 1 salmon, mushrooms and potatoes, and chocolate and carrot cakes. All very yummy and satisfying. The steaks were cooked to perfection (we like medium well) and the wagyus were particularly tender and tasty. Now our favorite steak restaurant in Boston.

We should have been tipped off by all of the open reservation slots on a Friday evening - never a good sign. While the restaurant was lovely, the food was absolutely awful. My husband and I decided to go with the prix fixe summertime grill menu, and while the Caesar salads were large and fresh, my lemon Dijon chicken was inedibly bad. It was horribly over salted, and the consistency of the chicken was repulsive - rubbery yet slimy all at once - truly terrible. My husband’s 10oz filet was decent, but also absurdly overly salted. The chocolate cake, while enormous, was the worst cake I’ve ever tasted. Artificial, artificial, artificial - you’d truly be better off eating a pre-packaged piece of cake from a deli. Our server was pleasant, but not particularly competent or on top of things. I literally just ordered dinner on DoorDash to make up for this inedibly horrid meal.

My partner asked me to pick a restaurant for my birthday dinner. There are so many choices of amazing restaurants in Boston. After some research of reviews I chose Eddie Merlot's, to my dismay. The marble and stained glass decor is beautiful, but the poor service negates all of that. Once seated it took at least 10 minutes before a waiter came to the table to offer water options. He took our drink order and disappeared. After another 5-10 minutes a different waiter came to offer us water and we told him someone was already taking care of us. He said "Perfection" and left. Another 10 minutes went by and a manager walked by and when she saw us sitting there she motioned to the wait staff realizing something was amiss. Did she come to our table? No. The original waiter came back to see how we were doing and finally brought water. (This is now 30 minutes after we were seated before we were served water and incorrect drinks.) He eluded that the bar was slow making our drinks. Once he brought the drink it was made incorrectly and was warm. Obviously it had been sitting on the bar waiting to be picked up. They remade my drink and the manager brought the drink to the table. She made a joke and left. (In the end they comped my drink) The waiter finally came back and took our dinner order. We ordered a shrimp appetizer and our 3 course pre-fix dinner. They brought our salads before our appetizer which seemed odd but excusable. But the presentation of our filet mignon entree was plain and basic for a restaurant of this caliber. Eddie Merlot's is charging high-end prices for service and presentation Which is horrible. Seriously save your money and go to Outback Steakhouse or Texas Roadhouse (no offense to those fine steakhouses, just making a pricing comparison). One final observation about the manager on duty and the staff. The staff appeared frantic and disorganized. The Manager was focused on 2 or 3 tables. Why did she ignore those not being served?
Be the first to ReplyGood but not great
Great Service. But the food is okay but not worthy. Sweet Shrimps needs better battered. The streak sauce of the Burbon Steak, seemed more like a supermarket sauce and not a restaurant sauce.

Where to begin??!! This place was simply a disaster from start to finish. First, we waited more than 20 minutes for our drinks. As for our meals, I was given a beef filet instead of the bison filet I ordered and both my meat and my wife's were not cooked to the proper temperature. And it took at least 15-20 minutes for the kitchen to correct this while the other two people with us finished their meals. The manager seemed more annoyed with us than anything, told us he comped our steaks and walked off in a huff. Not to mention, our water glasses sat empty the entire meal until I was able to get our waitress to bring us more. As for the food, mediocre at best. Someone please introduce the chef to salt. The side dishes were completely tasteless. We live in the same building where the restaurant is located so even though it's convenient, we most definitely won't be back. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place and go to Morton's across the street or literally any other restaurant in the city. I will usually give a restaurant a second chance understanding that sometimes they're just having a bad night, but this was SO bad I just can't. With the prices they are charging, they should seriously be embarrassed. And this dinner was for my son's birthday so it really ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion.

Never heard of this place honestly. Group I was with picked it out. Restaurant was very nice and clean. Service was very good. Think it was Chris. I got 16 0z strip steak and mashed potatoes. We all shared veggies and deserts though. My steak was amazing I must say. I’d go again in a heartbeat.
