This is the place to go when you're looking for ambience, service and to dress up and be around other people that are dressed up. The food is good but not amazing, certainly not a foodie type of place. But I really can't think of a better place to go if you're looking to dress-and-impress, an exquisite date night place. The best things I ate here were the table bread, oysters, and truffle mac & cheese. I loved the atomic horseradish that came with the oysters, a very delicious pairing. I did think the ahi tuna entree with the side of wasabi was unique, fun and interesting, but wouldn't get it again. The crab cake was decent with large lumps of crab, but texture and flavor-wise it fell a little short compared to others I've had. The chilean sea bass was disappointing, lacking flavor and any sort of satisfying texture. I did not care for the lobster bisque, it's $20 with one small piece of lobster and nothing to dunk in the broth. The caesar salad had some unappetizing tomato garnishes on it and these huge pieces of cheese, just wasn't a pleasant eat. Cocktails are hit-or-miss. The hope diamond and 24 karat were way too sugary and the glasses were sticky. But the smoked old fashion is amazing, it has these delicious chocolate bitters in it that create quite an amazing pairing. To put it in a perspective that I think is helpful, 801 Fish and Water Grill downtown have much better food in my opinion, but nothing near the ambience of this place. In fact, I'm not sure what the main differentiators are between this place and Ocean Prime. In front there are $250k+ cars at the valet (McLarens, etc). Why millionaires from Cherry Hills would go here to eat is beyond me, I guess because of that rich ambience.
