Eventide Fenway Boston Reviews from The Last Year
Simply the best
The smoked tofu sandwich and the lobster roll are outstanding! We drive 4 hours to Boston just to have these 2 entrees. Will return for sure! 👍🏻
Avoid the Food Misrepresenting the Iconic New England Dishes
Visited with business colleagues from UK to showcase the exemplary Bostonian dishes. it was an embarrassing and truly the worst sampling of the iconic food. Starting with a super-watery chowder filled with greasy port chunks. The same greasy pork slices, now larger and abundant, somehow became part of the New England Clam Bake, served with no corn but an ugly boiled egg in the middle, all presented in the Chinese round container typically used for the dumpling . The culmination of it all was a horrendous lobster roll, killed by the very runny brown butter, again on the sweet Chinese bun, the same type we found with the gilled fried oysters ordered as an appetizer. The expensive fish charcuterie board, another appetizer ordered, had mostly spread-like, mysterious in nature and very small in size smudges. Avoid by all means.
Walk on by…
A very expensive stop for a bite that was not at all worth the $$. So, 19$ for lobster roll. I expect to pay but these rolls were about 3”. Tasty roll with a good amount of lobster. My kudos ends there. Clam chowder arrived lukewarm which required us to send back for a reheat. Not a creamy chowder at all. Loaded with Small chunks of potato that were hard-undercooked. Very little evidence of clam pieces. A few pieces of pork. The cracker was the hit of this dish. 5.00$ for one can of diet coke? Seriously?! They add a 2.95$ administrative fee. What??? Maybe this is standard in Boston but ridiculous where I come from. I am totally up for paying $$ for good food. 66$ here not including tip and two of us left hungry. Far better places you can explore in this area.
Wonderful oysters and creative dishes
Amazing place for oysters and other creative menu items. Good beer and wine choices; a fried oyster bun that defied expectation and was awesome; a fantastic little gem Caesar salad; amazing oysters, and a great selection. Service was good and efficient; it was possible to have a conversation without being overwhelmed by the horribly noisy restaurant ambiance that is so prevalent these days.
Re-saturating with expensive and dull food
Restaurant without nice decoration, rather careless service. Ordered a lobster roll. It is tasteless, soft texture without interest. Very small portion, it almost looked like an “appetizer”. A little lobster, a lot of sauce and a little white bread, cooked I don't know how. A glass of German Riesling, just okay.
That Lobster Roll!!
Every time I’m here on business we always make a trip (or two) to Eventide by Fenway! Must have the espresso martini - with the pecorino finish! The lobster roll is insanely good! Tonight I tried the oyster roll for the first time and highly recommend! All in all - get ready -nothing tastes like what you expect… and it’s better!
Hot chowder on a rainy day
On a rainy autumn day, following a disappointing trip to Quincy Market, which was dirty and loud, we found ourselves at Eventide restaurant. It was a complete contrast – tidy, serene, and peaceful. Since it was lunchtime, we decided to try their New England Chowder and Lobster Stew. Both dishes were delightful, with the Lobster Stew offering a pleasant touch of spiciness to warm you up. In summary, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Lame oysters, but yummy lobster roll
Smallest oysters I’ve ever had. The service was bland and I felt like I was an inconvenience for being at the restaurant. The lobster roll is delicious as is the soft serve dessert.
OK
We went to try the lobster roll; $19 and small but tasty. The rest of our meal was ok, though some items were very salty. We're from out of town so are unlikely to return. A couple of our group were still hungry when we left (the black bass does not yield enough fish to be filling). They add a 5% admin fee to every check: 'The entirety of this fee will be distributed to our non-tipped staff in the form of increased wages. This fee does not represent a tip or gratuity for our wait staff, service employees, or service bartenders.' How odd. Why not just increase the cost of each food item by 5%?
Rude staff Member
Tried this establishment for the first time tonight. At first I was excited to try some place new to us. However that feeling was quickly replaced with disgust by how I saw a girl that worked there treat a Boston Police Officer horribly as they were asking to use the restroom. This sickened me as this officer who I witnessed was in full uniform on a hot and busy day was simply asking to use the facilities. This officer was nothing but polite and was respectful to the staff and the girl told him he was absolutely not allowed. I will never return to this place. Food was subpar. Attitude towards others horrendous. Never again.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
