Flying Fish Orlando Reviews from The Last Year
Avoid the charred new york steak.
I heard alot of good things about it so I came here for that. Big mistake. Their steak quality was sub-par, not juicy or tender and they charred it way too much to the point where it was basically burnt on the top layer (and I usually LOVE a charred steak). The au gratin potato was crispy outside and fluffy inside, nice but not a true, creamy au gratin that I am used to and LOVE so that was disappointing. I have a video review of this on YouTube Disneyworld Vacationer and twitter DVacationer if you are curious. The waiter came and asked how everything was and I was honest and said I didn't like the steak. He offered another dish or for it to be redone. So I got another dish... Potato wrapped snapper is the thing to get here! Really good. Crisp outside, fluffy inside like it was a thick seabass. No fishy smell or taste, wonderful creamy leek fondue and red sauce underneath. I really liked this dish but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for it. There was almost too much leeks in the sauce as you can tell in my picture but the sauce was still good. Glad I got this dish but still, california Grill is the best signature restaurant on property but this is much better than steakhouse 71 which is not a signature restaurant . And don't get me started on Narcoosees (yuck!) The ambiance is very nice inside but nothing spectacular like california grill. Wait staff was great too. Solid spot if you are in the area for dinner.
Special occasion dinner spoilt by feeling rushed
Went to the Flying fish for a birthday celebration. Four adults and two children. The food was all very good but we felt unduly rushed by our waiter. My 6 year old grandson and I were still eating our main course when the special birthday cake was plonked unceremonious on the table and the waiter encouraged us to sing happy birthday. My grandson who was happily eating a children’s steak meal of course wouldn’t eat any more once of that once the cake arrived. We shared out the cake and the check/bill was put on the table again before we had finished eating. We had not been asked if we wanted anything else like cocktails or coffee. We paid the fixed 18% service charge for parties of six or more and didn’t want to make a fuss to spoil the evening for the person whose birthday it was. I did mention some of this quietly to the maitre d’ on the way out and he was apologetic but all in all what should have been a brilliant evening with first class food ended very disappointingly.
Hidden Gem
Great spot for an upscale dinner. The food was excellent. Potato wrapped snapper was very good. We also had filet and scallops both were delicious. It's pricey, but the food and service were worth it. Easy to get a reservation a few days in advance.
Second time we have been there, first time was last
Second time we have been there, first time was last December with my mother. It was amazing!!! Second time to celebrate my Father n laws 83 rd Birthday. Amazing again. I had the potato wrapped red snapper, amazing. My father n law had the salmon and both my mother n law and husband had the filet. The service spectacular. The Boardwalk resort has free valet parking for handicap.
Good meal in nice setting
We’ve visited here before in the last few weeks & decided to revisit. Sometimes you shouldn’t go back to somewhere you enjoyed but this was the exception. It was great. The food was lovely I’d recommend the cheese plate appetiser & I choose to have another appetiser as my main (the pork) it was beautiful. The setting is lovely. Our server ‘Izzy’ was fantastic. We throughly enjoyed our evening & can’t wait to go back. The menu choices are extensive for all tastes & has recently been ‘updated’ but my all time favourite the melting chocolate dessert is no longer on the menu - shame. However, it was still a really good night out.
Truly wonderful
First time visiting this restaurant and the food and service was amazing . We found the staff at check in quite disorganised and the table the gave us was not ideal … however our server ‘April ‘ was the most delightful , knowledgable and kindest lady and she was the star of the show along with the fantastic food . We were so impressed by the steaks and the wine and April treated us like royalty with a touch of homeliness and we will most certainly will be Back to enjoy this amazing place . We loved it and were throughly spoiled . Honestly it’s truly amazing and such high quality food so please give it a visit and enjoy .
Expensive but Very Good
I'm stingy with my 5 star reviews, and despite this being expensive I felt the overall service and quality earned it. Our server (Omar) was one of the best I've experienced, extremely helpful. The lobster bisque was excellent, the bread was excellent, and the entree's were fantastic. A great filet mignon for me, and a great NY Strip for my wife. Yes it's expensive, and is not something you will probably drag a huge family of young kids to. But for a special occasion it's probably worth the splurge. Enjoy!
Woo Woo
Visited Flying Fish for our anniversary. A truly great dining experience! Though the star of our time there was MARY! She is wonderful at what she does and exemplifies customer service! Thank you Mary! Woo Woo! 😂
Go to McDonalds
Don’t even make the effort first the attitude of the workers is disgusting not a smile to be had I had a sea food tro 3 shrimp 3 muscles 3 shrimp and one scallop and 12 little pieces of pasta for 60 bucks not worth it picture to follow that y I think u would be better off in McDonalds also not worth the price my entire should have been a appetizer
Expensive and not worth it
We have been before a few years ago, and the overall experience has changed. It is a very expensive restaurant and the food just didn't measure up. The portions were ridiculously small (keep in mind that we are a fit, healthy couple who, as a rule, can rarely finish a meal in the US) My husband ordered scallops as his main and there were 4 on a plate with a little cream underneath. We had an appetizer, mains, 2 glasses of wine and the bill was $300 for 2 people. We had to grab snacks at our resort after because we were still so hungry. They have raised the price so much and are offering a lot less.
An outstanding dinning experience
My daughter made a reservation and we dined at this restaurant. From the first step in, the decoration, the way we were treated impressed us. The way the waitress knew the menu items, and was able to answer all of our questions in a very friendly and professional way was incredible. The food's presentation, portions and most of it the flavor were fantastic. It is not a cheap restaurant, but worth every penny. We left the place happy and satisfied.
Fine Dining seafood at its best.
This is my favorite restaurant at Disney on the Boardwalk. I have never been disappointed. This night I had Seabass. It was absolutely the best I’ve ever had. It is fine Dining, not cheap, but worth every penny if you have a special occasion.

Had a reservation, they seated us within 5 minutes of the target time. Our waitress (or am I supposed to say server) KATIE was incredibly personable, knowledgeable and very attentive. We even had a change to speak with Chef Diego - also very informative and friendly, really embodies the "Disney" spirit and way of doing things. The Slow-roasted Pork Belly, was good but a little bland. The Seafood Trofie Pasta on the other hand was absolutely delightful - lots of seafood, flavorful and well seasoned. Our cocktails were made we (and strong but not overpowering)....overall a very enjoyable meal - would definitely recommend.
Flying Fish is my GOAT 1B in case you read my California
Flying Fish is my GOAT 1B in case you read my California Grill review! Almost hidden on Disney's Boardwalk this place is just phenomenal. They start you off with complimentary bread service. The bread DOES have sea weed in it, but I am so F'ing picky and I do not notice it at all. The whip the hell of the butter and top it off with a black sea salt. Just perfect. Appetizers we had was lobster bisque, octopus, and grilled romaine salad. I did not get any apps but everyone loved theirs. For my entree I got the potato wrapped snapper with black truffle rissoto. I had them add on a side of shrimp and used the garlic butter to top off the shrimp and the snapper. That crispy potato wrapped around the snapper is so damn good and really takes the dish over the top. Throw in the garlic butter for the shrimp and we are on another planet. The filet and chilean sea bass were also great. For dessert, and I a, so unbelievably angry over this they took the cocoa breach off of the menu and it was hands down THE best dessert I have had in my life. I asked them about it and they said "It was our most popular dessert and a lot of people are complaining about it." I mean if it's the most popular dessert why on earth remove it? If that many people are complaining why do you still not have it? Just very weird. That honestly is what sets this right behind California Grill. Once, and or if this comes back then its number 1. If you're at Epcot FF is a quick walk. You can get the ferry boats over there too and it'll drop you off right in front. But as long as it's not 4,651,275 degrees...take the walk. See The Boardwalk. However you get there...just get there.
Delicious food great service.
Cam to Disney world on vacation and the dinner was a very memorable experience. This place alone makes me want yo go back
It's been far too long since I have visited this beautiful
It's been far too long since I have visited this beautiful restaurant, as soon as you walk in you feel like you stepped out of a resort hotel and into a New York restaurant. The food from the bread service all the way to the amazing dessert has great flavors and so fresh! The servers are all very knowledgeable on what wine pairs with your meal so don't be afraid to ask for recommendations.
My co workers and I were staying at the Dolphin Hotel and
My co workers and I were staying at the Dolphin Hotel and we wanted to venture to the Boardwalk and have dinner. This place looked great so we went inside and asked for a table for 3. Unfortunately, there was 1.5 hour wait, but they offered us seating at the bar. So instead of waiting we decided to sit there. The bar area has about 10 seats. We were a little disappointed at first since there was plenty of open seating, but our bartender made up for it. Joshua was absolutely amazing!!! He had worked here in the past and came back for one night since they were short staffed. We ordered a couple appetizers to share and our entrees. The appetizers were served quickly but since the entrees took quite a while, he said he would comp our next round of drinks, which we thought was very generous. I ordered the sea bass and I thought it tasted good, but was a little bland. I guess I expected more. I tried a bite of the salmon entree and it was very flavorful and tasty. We ordered a couple of desserts to share at the end of our meal because we were having such a great time chatting with Joshua. I think the desserts were just ok, nothing special. I felt like they tried too hard and it just didn't hit well for me. The cheesecake was not what we were expecting. It was light and there was no real crust, so definitely not a traditional cheesecake. And although the hazelnut bar tasted had a nice, rich flavor the lemon sorbet paired with it was an interesting touch...again, not my favorite. All in all, good meal, but if I went back I would order differently.
Poor service at an otherwise wonderful restaurant
We have eaten here a number of times over a number of years. The food is still wonderful. A truly gourmet place, and expensive as you would expect. For the first time ever when visiting this place the service was very disappointing. Just plain inattentive and unresponsive. We assumed our server was overloaded with tables, and doing her best, but her tables began to clear and yet there was no improvement in her service. We began to joke about it. It was that poor. I will make sure we are never again given a table where she is the server. This place is too nice to have to put up with such treatment.
Still one of my favorite Disney restaurants.
This is definitely a special occasion restaurant. It's $50+ an entre, which even by Disney standards is steep. I came here for a business dinner and took great joy in saying that there were no children in our party. I thought it was great that they sat us in a room in the back where they had other childless parties. I'm all for taking my young children to Disney restaurants, but I like being away from other young children when I don't have them. I thought this was a great idea. Here's what I got. Hamachi appetizer: It was delicious. Very light and delicate hamachi. Chilean Sea Bass: Another superb dish. It was on the smaller side, so I'm glad we had an appetizer and dessert or else I might not have been full. I would definitely order this again. The fish was so incredibly flaky that I cut it with my fork. Cheese Plate: I got this for my dessert since I'm not a huge sweets person and it was good. I'm more into creamy cheeses, so I wouldn't die to get this again, but it was a great alternative to a sweet dessert. Espresso Martini: This is one of my favorite espresso martini's to date. I'm not a huge connoisseur of them, but I found this was sweet without being too sweet. I would 100% get it again if I'm looking to stay up late. My coworker made the reservations and I had no issue on a Wednesday night just telling the guard at the booth of the Boardwalk that we had reservations. I just showed him my photo ID and he waved me on. I don't think I want to bring my children here, because it is a little more upscale than even the other upscale restaurants inside of Disney, but I definitely want to do an adult only dinner here again.
This place is great.
They brought back the potato wrapped snapper. The service is always top notch. I love the look inside and the location at the Boardwalk.

First time here, went with friends of ours who had been there before, they suggested the potato wrapped red snapper & we had it topped with a lobster tail, it was very good. We also had the lobster bisque, that was good. The only thing I didn't care for was the menu was pretty limited. Not sure if I'd go back again.
Food, service and location were excellent.
My husband raved about the lobster bisque and charred steak. I had the potato wrapped snapper and enjoyed every bite. We loved the Boardwalk so much we went back with family. Will be back again.
The restaurant is so beautifully designed, it was great
The restaurant is so beautifully designed, it was great walking through and noticing the details on the ceiling and throughout the restaurant. Our server, Izzi was a hoot and a half! He had great jokes and was very creative in helping us make plans for food that was satisfy all of our wants. We were celebrating a birthday and he made sure to make it as special as could be for my friend. I'd love to go back and have him wait on us again.
Delicious upscale dinner
Incredible service by Ryan at the bar. Beautiful atmosphere. Sophisticated for a Disney restaurant. Snapper was recommended and was delicious! I would definitely come back.
