Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse New Orleans Reviews from The Last Year
Not even close to Fogo standards, or even McDonalds standards.
Stopped in for lunch in a Monday. The place was empty but for three tables. Waited a while at the door before anyone talked to us though at least three different staff members made eye contact and kept walking. Asked to be seated at a half booth and were told most of the dining room was closed by order of the manager though all the tables were set and ready. Instead we were forced into to a table right next to the restrooms. Asked for a menu and told no menus and needed to scan the QR code. Told the server we didn’t have our phones as we left them in our hotel room at the JW. Server just said sorry nothing she can do. Asked what the options were and the server just said “you know, you can have the service where they bring the meat”. We asked what meats and she couldn’t tell us. So we had the salad bar mostly consisted of soggy food. The cured meats had something growing on it that looked like mold. Service wasn’t much better as we watched our waitress sit in the middle of the main dining area eating her own lunch while the rest of the staff just ignored us.
Best Brazilian Steakhouse, come hungry, leave happy!
We stumbled into this treasure walking Canal Street searching for a place to eat. We’ve eaten at a few Brazilian Steakhouses around the nation, but this was far and away the best. Our plate was never empty, the service was exceptional. The manager came by the table multiple times to make sure our experience was perfect. They gave the largest portions I’ve seen. It isn’t cheap, but great value for the money! If you are looking for great food downtown, stop in and give them a try. You will NOT regret it.
Familiar but good
After getting turned away at an upscale NOLA iconic restaurant for not meeting the after 5:00pm dress code, I headed back to Canal St. which was near my hotel and full of touristy familiarity. Cold and hungry, I opted for FdC who sat me as a solo diner almost immediately despite being busy on a Saturday during the opening night of parades, winter formal for the high school kids and the tween semester break for college kids in the south. Since we have a FdC in the burbs of Detroit, I was familiar with the menu and how the deal works. The bar made me a couple of great drinks and the food servers constantly paid my table attention with the green side up. They brought me first dibs several times from the kitchen which is nice particularly when the tenderloin comes out. I ate my fill and redeemed an evening of culinary rejection and frigid temperatures. Overall a pleasant experience. These people work hard.
Good representation for the chain
Smaller restaurant than most Fogo de Chao , very good service and food typical of the restaurant chain. The manger was engaged with customers and pleasant fellow that to chats with.
Recommended.
Very nice location and facilities. Efficient service. Very good quality meat with unstop delivery to our table. Value for money is fair. Recommended.
Not going back
Had reservations for 4 for my mothers 78th birthday. Table next to us had 4 very intoxicated men sitting at it. All they could say was f*ck and bro. The entire front of the extremely busy restaurant heard their vulgar mouths. Not one staff member or part of management team said anything to them. This continued on for about 45 minutes until they left. We were seated and Waited approximately 15 minutes for someone to take our order. Not one person approached our table. I had to get up and ask for a waiter. Service and food was horrible. Had to ask several times for refills on iced tea. Never received straws. Had to ask for mashed potatoes and rolls several time. Meat was barely served. Market table was not stocked well at all. It was a mess. Went through 3 plates until I found a clean one. I expect more when paying $350.00 for 4 people to eat and drink ice tea.
Food Good but Space Worn Dirty
Food was on par with other Fogos but space is small and dated. Only one bathroom which is crazy for restaurant of this size.
Very disappointed. VERY.!@!!
Received $150.00 in gift cards. For Xmas 2022. Found them in drawer 2day. Woops only good jan 2023 to March 2023. Unbelievable. I own a barber shop. I would NEVER do what fogo de chao. Did to me.(EVER). (ALSO I WAS IN AZ. JAN. UNTIL APRIL).
Outstanding
Food was vet good, we had the churosco and all of us 9 was very plateselskap. The lamb was outstanding.. we rangds from 11 to 70 years in age. Half price for 6-12 years
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AVOID AVOID
This place is thus far the worst in the city. I’ve come here previously and I was never impressed with the service. Today my three daughters decided to surprise me to take me there to celebrate Father’s Day. We had a reservation, which we arrived on time. We waited about 25 minutes to ge seated. The problem started by seating us in the overpacked second floor dining room area. The place was so filthy, sticky floors, smelly, food on the floor…for a moment I thought we were entering at a Golden Corral type of buffet. The waiter took our drink order and said he would come back with their regular appetizers (cheese bread, fried bananas, mashed potatoes etc)…that never happened. No drinks and no appetizers. 25 minutes passed and there was not a single Gaucho was out to serve any meats. Finally there was a single person (we are talking about the entire second floor dining room) coming to serve a stale, dried over well done cooked piece of top sirloin. That’s when I was bold to tell the gaucho i wanted to talk to a manager about the dining experience we were being treated with…his response was: “we’re short stuff”, and I said: well, we aren’t getting full experience dining experience, so does it mean we only pay 20% of the entire bill? I told him, please get manager…15 minutes later then the gaucho came back with more meat, and every 15 minutes another cut…we were there about 2 hours and had only a handful of gauchos coming to our table. Never had picahna, ribs, filet…the only cuts we had were: sausage, chicken and a couple of top sirloin and ribeye. Finally about an hour later I decided to complain again and this time another waiter finally got some bread and the appetizers. We overheard other tables complaining about the lousy service and the lack of meats coming to the table. We never saw the manager, never got out drinks, and towards the end that’s when the original waiter and the rest started to show up to the table because it was time to bring the check (I guess at that time tips was the main reason to show up) I would finish this with this: Restaurants that are greedy and don’t care to give a quality experience of food service, aren’t there to cater to your customers, instead all you care is to make a quick dollar, that in this case almost $80 per person was paid, to me it’s a complete RIP OFF. If you don’t have the right personnel, you’re short staffed, and not ready to open your entire restaurant for a full blown experience, then don’t be taking reservations and even taking walk-ins…do as some other reputable restaurants do: if they are short staffed, then they don’t seat you right away, even having a whole load of empty tables…these restaurants do care and are looking forward to make their guests a great experience. Definitely we aren’t coming back to this place.
