Just amazing
They have a new location with plenty of parking. I had amazing tacos and got some delicious tamales to go. The shrimp tacos were good but the cochinita pibil was out of this world. I would love to go back.

Husband and I went while in town for a long weekend. We always search out authentic Mexican food when ever we are in a new town and this one did not disappoint. Food was made to order and piping hot when served. Staff was super friendly and helpful and there was a line out the door on this Friday night for over an hour. Dining area is a little small but they do offer outside dining tables. Highly recommend you try it out if you are near Sanford.

My wife and I stopped in here based on a friend’s recommendation. Absolutely the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. As soon as more reviews are posted, this will be the #1 restaurant in Sanford.

This was our first trip to Fonda Lupita. They had been open 30 minutes and already had a crowd. This is a “to go container and plastic fork” lunch spot with indoor and outdoor tables. You won’t find chips and salsa here. Bone up on your traditional Mexican food lingo before you get there…. Un Guiso, Birria de Res, Chicarron Prensado ! We ordered the QuesaBirria and two Gordita’s… one with Nopales en Pico de gallo and one with Carnitas En Salsa Verde. The QuesaBirria which was very meat and cheese forward and came with a fresh and rich consomme. The Gordita’s were both messy to eat but delicious. The nopales were a bit bland but the pork was outstanding. The accompanying sauces (hot and verde) were a bonus. Don’t pass up the Aqua Fresca… today we had the option of watermelon, hibiscus and pineapple. We got the watermelon which was made on site with fresh fruit. Parking is a bit challenging and the bathrooms were tiny. If you are in the mood for Americanized Mexican food… this is not that place. Someone’s abuela served up this meal so you’d better eat it while it’s hot.
