Four Chairs San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
I went here for brunch with a friend the other day.
There was a long wait, but that's relatively normal for a popular brunch spot on a Saturday afternoon. The service was good. The food was average. We got the k bomb Benedict and the chicken + waffles as well as a strawberry matcha latte and a volcano coffee. Everything came out quickly! Food tasted fine, but nothing was that memorable.
Their famous colorful drinks are to die for.
Many brunch options from your classic eggs benny to French toast. Love the vibe and ig worthy place. Service could be improved with faster service and more check-ins with customers.
Great brunch, I got the K Bomb Benny.
The place tends to get very busy so be prepared to wait in line!

Very good food! We had to wait 45 minutes but it was Mothers Day Weekend and we got out of there super quick.
Amazing place for brunch, we ordered the signature french
Amazing place for brunch, we ordered the signature french toast and pancakes for the table and they were delicious! Mains were decent with the usual brunch fare and service was nice.
This place is worth the hype in my opinion.
The food was soooo good. And so were the drinks! Even though the wait was kind of long I think it's worth it. The place is a bit smaller than I thought so it was a bit warmer than I would have personally liked inside, but you aren't touching shoulders with the people next to you so it's fine! The staff was super nice and accommodated my slightly bigger than average brunch group so I would recommend just because of that!
The line of people waiting to enter is always a good sign.
With that said, get there early or plan ahead and reserve a spot online. After a few visits, what I have noticed is that this spot is consistent. The photos of the great looking food online are not fake. The food actually taste as good as it looks. Be prepared to enjoy plates of goodness. The drinks are also tasty and refreshing. The interior is crammed with tables and chairs to accommodate small to large parties, so it tends to be about average for noise. Prices are reasonable for the awesome food and drinks. Enjoy.
snag a reservation or come early, if you can! we arrived
snag a reservation or come early, if you can! we arrived ~12pm on a sunday and it was about a 45 minute wait for a party of three. by the time we were seated, the wait time grew to an hour (at the very least). it is pretty cramped in there - tables are small yet very close together. menu is available via QR code & they provide complimentary water! after ordering, it took ~10 mins for drinks and food to arrive. to drink, i had the mango tango - it was nice, not too sweet. it seems like a big portion but the glass is full of mostly ice. i also had ordered the nova benedict - i may have had too high of hopes for this, but i don't think it was anything special. but pleasing to the eye? yes! both of my friends loved their drinks and plates, however! the mimosa was stronger than your average. i'm sure i'll be back, and will definitely try something else on the menu. though the food is good, i'm not sure if it's worth that long of a wait.

Brunch here is top-notch in a trendy, modern setting, and they whip up some seriously fancy drinks. My chicken and waffles were amazing--I got half a chicken on the bone and a Belgian waffle. And their bloody mary? Pretty darn good too!
Had a great time here ! I recommend making reservations
Had a great time here ! I recommend making reservations before hand to avoid the wait line . Once you get there you check in and let them know you've arrived and get seated within seconds ! The food was really good and flavorful !! Recommend the French toast to share for the table or the pancakes ! Definitely won't disappoint! The k chicken benny was delish , chicken served on the side bread was not too thin or thick ! Burger was well fried and seasoned and the chx & waffles !! To die for . The waffles were crunchy on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside ! They give you a syrup & sweet & spicy sauce as well ! Iced drinks are also very refreshing although on the sweeter side ; which I don't mind . But keep that in mind if you don't like your drinks too sweet . Overall will be back ! The place is not too big and some of the ya les are a little close together . On a hot day like today it can get stuffy so I recommend sitting by the windows.
So I came here a while back for Chicken and waffles.
I haven't been back since now I know why. Typical SF problem form over function. The crust of the French Toast was a rock and the pastrami.... I mean beef bacon was ok. Service was passable not stellar. It is kind of loud which I could let pass if the food was good. Not worth the wait or the price
Firstly, FOUR CHAIRS DOES NOT HAVE FOUR CHAIRS.
.. they have about over 40 CHAIRS!!! Secondly, their food and staff were equally amazing. I've heard a lot about this place on instagram so I thought I'd check it out. I'm a SF native btw and never heard of this place. This was my first solo dining experience ever and I enjoyed every moment. I came in on a weekday a little right after opening (no line, but restaurant was half packed), ordered the nova Benny, which exceeded my expectations, salad was great and even the potatoes were good, along side with a glass of butterfly lychee, soju added. Everything was so flavorful. Definitely will be coming back!!
We lucked out.
I made reservations for Friday at 10:20 a.m. the day before. Was greeting by a friendly smile and was seated at a table that had a reservation sign on it. Wow! I noticed the restaurant was packed as the noise level was of happy patrons. The hospitality and service - WARM and CHARMING. Great! The menu selection - SUPER! We sat next to a couple that ate here before. "You gotta try the lychee drink. It's delicious." Not only was it delicious, it was an absolutely beautiful PURPLE drink! My BF ordered the creme brûlée French toast and I had the fried chicken and waffle. We definitely will be back as we were very satisfied with what we had for brunch. We felt the prices were very reasonable for what you got. No price gouging here. It's worth every penny. We'll need TWO CHAIRS for our return!
We had to try it at least once.
Luckily, we made reservations for 10:30 am. brunch on a Friday morning . Surprisingly, the establishment was packed. An hour later, there was a waiting line outside the door. Our initial impressions were positive. The menu offered many choices, but we decided to share 2 breakfast specials; fried chicken and waffles, and creme burlee french toast. Btw: i like lychee, so also ordered the butterfly lychee drink. The french toast was oustanding. I was expecting buttermilk brined fried chicken with waffles, but expectations did not match reality. It was good but IMHO, it was outclassed by the french toast. We also noticed from previous Yelp reviews, that dinner was served. Their hours are now limited to mornings and afternoons. I'm assuming that their success now dictates fewer hours for the same profitability? If you hate lines, I would highly recommend reservations! We will return soon and expand and taste other notable menu items we missed.
Food - 7/10 - looks better than it tastes, but still
Food - 7/10 - looks better than it tastes, but still enjoyable and always a good time with friends and family! We went on a Wednesday morning at 11am for brunch, I wanted the truffle omelette but was told that they were out of it. I saw that the chicken and waffles were one of the "recommended" items so I ordered it. The chicken ended up to be mid. The texture of the batter were too grainy for my taste and a bit dry...the flavor was there tho my mom ordered the Kbomb Benedict and the dish was presented really well. Again the fried chicken in the kbomb Benedict was subpar. Her Benedict plate came with potatoes and a side of salad with carrots (which we forgot to tell our server beforehand regarding her carrots allergies) so she had to individually pick them out to enjoy her food. The okonomyaki fries were one of the best tasting item that we go today. The bonito flakes definitely adds to the flavor profile of the fries so would def get it again. Service - 7/10 The servers were very attentive. There were only 2 servers on the follow with 15-20 tables so it took a while for us to get serve. Not sure if they have communication or assigned sections between servers but I find it abit awkward when one server took our order, 2 minutes later, the other server came to our table ask to take our order. Seems disorganized but really appreciate their efforts as they seemed short staffed.
Foods looks very nice but had to wait for an hour to get in.
After all I mean it kind of reduce the point here. I really enjoyed the cream Brle toast. But the other dishes they are okay, the k bomb Benny, the fried chicken is a bit too sweet for me.
Fantastic brunch spot with excellent food.
Menu is up to date with photos so you can see exactly what you're getting. Wait time was extremely long but you can check into the waitlist via the Yelp app. Modern decor and well lit, though quite loud with the large crowds. Great spot for friends outings, would avoid if looking for something more intimate.
Four Chairs was definitely popping even though we arrived
Four Chairs was definitely popping even though we arrived relatively early for brunch. We joined the wait-list right around 10AM, and our table was ready earlier than the expected wait time. You'll need your full party to be present to be seated, so plan accordingly. It does get pretty packed here even though there's plenty of tables. For our table of four, we decided to get a shared plate of Okonomiyaki Fries. For my entree, I got a Muchroom Salad, cheese on the side. And I got one of their Instagrammable drink, the Mango Matcha Latte. My partner got their K-bomb Chicken Benny and an Arnold Palmer. Okonomiyaki Fries came first - and it was savory, a bit vinegary, but also tad salty and creamy with the Kewpie mayo. They were pretty generous with their bonito flake, which added a nice savory flavor to it as well. It's a nice shareable appetizer since portion is generous. It took a while for our drinks and entree to come, but they serve everyone's entree at the same time. My Muchroom salad was better than I expected. I was actually debating between The Original Benedict or a salad, and in the end I'm glad I landed with the salad, since portion looked pretty big. My salad came with plenty of grilled mushrooms, yum! The greens were fresh and the vinaigrette wasn't too tart. I think it would be even better if they added more mushroom varieties and something creamy to the mix, like avocado, but alas, it's probably not something people normally go for at this place. My drink on the other hand, was surprisingly pretty good. I never mix my Matcha with fruits and such - usually just have a plain Matcha Latte, but it looks like they only serve Matcha with Mango or Strawberry puree. The Mango puree at the bottom was thick and sweet. So delicious. It mixes well with Matcha, and it looks amazing, but I'd still opt for a plain one if given the choice! I also got to sample my partner's dish - the K-bomb Benny! The chicken patty was battered and fried like a Korean Sweet and Spicy fried chicken. A bit saucy, but delicious. It's interesting how they served it on ciabatta, so I'm not sure it even counts as a Benedict, but it works. Full of flavor and wasn't dry. His Arnold Palmer was refreshing and light, I almost wish I got one instead. Service was really friendly! Just make sure to wait-list and plan accordingly if you don't want to wait for too long. Was it worth it? For a party of four and everything that we got, I thought it was. Check this place out if you're looking for something aesthetically pleasing, appetizing, and yummy.

hi my name is paulina and i just wanted to say i really enjoyed this meal, as a kid i was forced to eat dirt because we were really poor and that is all we could afford and eating this really opened up my mind about the food around me and the impact it truly has on other people. Also i made that story up but for reals though the food was good so come.

One of the best breakfast places in SF, hands down! Make sure to make a reservation if you are able to. This place is busy non stop from opening to closing time. We ordered the butterfly lychee, strawberry lemonade, chipotle Benedict (the best Benedict's I've had) chicken and waffles and kids pancakes with bacon. The food was EXCELLENT and by far the best food we had during our SF trip. Service was also great. You can only find street Parking which makes it challenging.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
