It was a late dinner with me, my husband and our friend. Started at the bar for a drink. The bartender was nice, attentive and got our drinks right. we moved to our outdoor table around 9 pm and sat for about 10-15 without anyone coming by to greet us. The table and chairs were metal and not very comfortable. But we chose outside, so I guess that’s on us. Inside, the seating looks very plush. When we finally got a server to greet us, she was very pleasant, attentive and apologetic that it took so long for someone to come by. We ordered and the food came out fairly promptly. My husband had 1/2 chicken with brussel sprouts, I had green beans and french fries, our friend had a spicy shrimp dish. The brussel sprouts were fantastic. Probably the best thing I tried. The green beans were maybe air-fried with some very light batter and were okay. Could have used some more flavor. The french fries were ok… the kind you get at the bowling alley (crinkle cut and no salt or seasoning). We ordered a “Veggie Burger” to go for my teenager. This was a complete fail. The menu calls it a veggie burger topped with spinach, tomato and provolone. First, the burger itself is not really veggie, it was chickpeas, rice, some sort of binder, and curry flavored. Dry as wood. The tomato was breaded and fried, hard as a rock and dry. After one bite, my kid pushed it aside and said it was no good. I opened it up to see the ingredients. It was slathered in mayo and very unappealing. I tried the “burger” and it was awful. I called the restaurant and left a message that as a vegetarian who has had hundreds of veggie burgers, this was the worst I have ever had and they really should modify the recipe, re name it chickpea/rice curry patty, or take it off the menu all together. Unfortunately, The Foxy Brown has no idea what it’s doing when it comes to cooking veggie burgers and/or their team has never tasted one of these. Overall experience was good but the veggie burger ruined it. 3.5 stars
