Frenchie is one of the hardest tables to get in Paris so we went to London instead. This was a dinner that IMPRESSED Everything tasted so good I devoured every bite. My absolute fav was the leek. It was so simple yet the flavor combo rly elevated it to a whole another level. The slightly charred layers of the leek and the chervil emulsion were a match made by foodie gods Another must order is the foie gras. The layers of the liver and cherry were buttery, fruity, and so delicate. Go with a lot of people so you can taste it all! Frenchie was a really enjoyable experience! We got a 2 meal set for pre-show. The mackerel was pretty good, foie grae was good but a little salty, crispy pork belly was really crispy and nice, and the fish was good with really good broccoli. They did forget the orange wine I wanted try which is sad but I'll just try it somewhere else. Overall great experience with really nice service.

Lovely restaurant with excellent food and atmosphere for reasonable prices in Covent Garden. 4.5 stars Food: 4.5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4.5 Cost to worth it rating: 3 (80 pounds for tasting) Booking online: yes Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - Tasting menu: 5 courses including starter, 2 mains, and 2 desserts plus 2 nibbles to start and 2 petit fours to finish. Excited it had many items from the a la carte menu I would have chosen. - Foie gras pressรฉ: heavenly mousse-like segments crafted into a rectangle with kumquats to delicately cut the richness. 5 stars - Monkfish: perfectly cooked piece of fish with some texture up too. Roasted cauliflower that was the co-star who stole the show. Buerre blanc was not to rich to tie it all together. 5 stars - Lamb saddle: I'm not typically a lamb fan, but this meat had a soft beef short rib like texture without any gamey-ness which I enjoyed. Accompaniments didn't complement the protein as much as I'd like however. 4 stars - Parmesan gougรจres: large orbs which surprisingly burst with a liquidy orange cheese sauce inside. 4 stars. - Rhubarb Prosecco sorbet with basil oil: light palate cleanser. 3.5 stars - Banoffee: a pillowy light almost foam-like orb with bits of banana and pecans hidden inside. I'm not a banana person but it wasn't too strong of a flavor here. 3.5 stars - Bacon scones: good texture and not dry, however with the glaze on top waw a bit too sweet for me so definitely needed the clotted cream to cut that. 3 stars - Atmosphere: modern and lively with some bar seating on the side and few tables up top and few tables and small kitchen below. White walls and lamps surround and few cow pictures hung up to give it an approachable feel. Midlight: - Specialty gin cocktail: had fruit and earl grey served in a tall glass and was sweeter than I anticipated. 3 stars Lowlight: - Lamb accompaniments: the artichoke, olives in the jus, and purรฉes overpowered the dish a bit. Not so bad, but being picky needing to pick a lowlight to include. Thoroughly enjoyed this meal, decor, and vibe and would love to return.

Highly recommend it. Front of house staff did an amazing job with flow and attentiveness with excellent food and wine knowledge.

I called on Saturday night, 2/26/22 to attend to grab a drink and I was told they were still open and when I went to your restaurant the front desk guy called the manager and he asked me "are You okay" in a hasty manner. Then I said "excuse me" and he said again "are you okay" now in a very rude way. Funny thing is I was there a few nights before as I was staying at the Strand visiting for work from NY. ย Whoever that manager was working at your establishment on Saturday was very rude and racist- the way he looked at me dead in my eyes with no background knowledge of whether I called or not or if I was given the correct information for open hours, he looked at me with disgust, the first night I had a great time actually when I visited the bar. Asking me if I was okay is such manner when all I did was called before coming to your restaurant is beyond humiliating. I went next door instead. How can someone work in customer service and yet be so rude? Very disappointed as I read about the restaurant and put it on my list to visit as I was staying close by. But aside from disappointment, this is not what a top rated restaurant's service should be like. Instead of feeling welcoming I was not. I would not go back to your restaurant and I will never recommend it.

One of my favorite restaurants in London! This is a small restaurant with tables lined on one wall and a bar on the other. This small cozy restaurant had a great wine list and cocktails. Every bite we had was beyond delicious!
Be the first to ReplyLovely first "French" experience in Covent Garden.
Very intimate cute little place for a date dinner or friends gathering. Wonderful service and food.

We were lucky to get two seats at the bar without a reservation. I would definitely make a reservation next time. The White Asparagus with quail eggs, Bacon Scone with clotted cream (which is 10,000 times better than it sounds) Pighead Croquettes and Smoked Sea Bream Carpaccio were all outstanding. ย The Bacon Scone was so good we ordered another. ย A lovely place with lovely staff and some nice gins too!

I entered "French restaurant" in the Yelp search field since this is my first time in London, and this was the first restaurant to pop up. I was too jet-lagged to read reviews, so I took a chance and made a same day reservation...one of the best decisions I've made in London!Firstly, the staff were amazingly nice and helpful. I had requested a nice and quiet table for our 10-year anniversary, and they saved me a corner high-top away from thru-traffic. They were all smiles the entire time.We decided to have the tasting menu (didn't do the wine pairing). Everything was superb! Things that I usually don't eat, e.g. scones, pork, rhubarb? Excellent choices! The bacon scone was a perfect mixture of warm saltiness and sweetness baked in a delightful breading that called for the butter to be smeared on it. The oysters had a great flavor that enhanced the freshness. The capers on the greens blended exquisitely with the lemony and crispy bass. I was so happy to eat such amazing food that was served by such attentive staff. Just when I was a bit saddened it was over, they brought out the last dessert and an extra one from the chef to help us celebrate our special day. Thank you, Frenchie, for making it a memorable dining experience!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious, nice service and great food.
Remember Salsify is a root vegetable not pasta. If it was real tagliatelle it would have been better.

Came here before going to see Kinky Boots at the theatre nearby. The food was good, not very big portions, the menu seemed a bit hoity-toity but I think that's what kind of modern-type vibe they are aiming for. If they had some more options or the menu was available online beforehand, and lowered their price to match the portions a little better, I would definitely be back! Friendly hosts and servers. We tried a type of goat cheese spread for an appetizer also and it was delicious! Pictured is the Hake dish.
Be the first to ReplyMonday night backup chef? I hope so.
This is a nice intimate spot with what was the most disappointing $100+ meal per person I've had in London. Sat at the bar with a lovely wait staff who seemed interestedand attentive. Ordered a glass of prosecco which was flat, it was explained to me that it had been 'opened that day' and was supposed to be like that. Exchanged it for a delicious glass of wine and started with a tiny bacon scone which was delicious. Downhill from there. The fois gras was a beautiful presentation but what should have been a light sprinkling of fresh horseradish was liberally applied and overpowering. Cleared most of it off and managed to enjoy the terrine and beets and brioche but at 18 quid this was a mishandled dish. Followed with the pasta with a lamb ragu and bbq leeks because they both sounded interesting. Lamb and tagliatelle was tough and overly salted, seemed like the victim of a microwave reheat. Literally could not cut through some pieces. Leek looked beautiful but had a bit of a chemical flavor - maybe a brรปlรฉe gone off? Both concepts were good but execution failed. Not being a perfectionist - they simply were not appealing to eat. Asked for the bill, paid, no one inquired about more than half the food being uneaten. I tried Frenchie because of the good reviews so perhaps this was Monday night backup staff. But for a place of this supposed caliber and at this price it deserves delicious food in addition to a chic staff and nice setting.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing - almost every bite - was brilliant.
Had the bacon scones and the crab. It was perfect balance of flavors and textures. For main course, one had the ravioli which was good but not amazing. The other had the duck with lentils - loved the variation between crunchy and cooked lentils as well as the sweet potatoes. The only challenge was the knives given - beyond dull and the table was so wobbly it became almost comical. Took the recommendation for their signature dessert. It was tasty
Be the first to ReplyThe food and service at Frenchie are first rate but as lots
The food and service at Frenchie are first rate but as lots of reviews have noted the portions really are microscopic. My big beef though was the space. It's a narrow restaurant but at this price point it's a bridge too far to seat people on high chairs up against a wall or around a bar. Such a casual setting really brings down the great food and service. Overall disappointing.
