As a non-Chicagoan, the pizza here is great! We had the supreme deep dish and it was flavorful. The crust was buttery and crispy to perfection. We also had the spinach mozzarella sticks which were also delicious. The dining room was a little loud but that's to be expected for a restaurant with large sports TVs! Our waiter was attentive and helped us split a complicated bill, despite being pretty busy with several other tables.
First time here, the food and service were amazing.
Definitely will be my go to spot when I'm in Chicago.
I was at GINOS EAST on the Magnificent Mile on Saturday
I was at GINOS EAST on the Magnificent Mile on Saturday April 9, 2024 . A group of my friends and family was attending an event!!! What I noticed and observed when ordering pizza for the Comedy shows pizzas are delivered through their Elevator System on the 3rd floor. Guess was able to utilize elevator as, well.... !!!!!! Pizza , Hot wings, Salad, Etc had NO covering over the Food ! Also , people were Coughing and the food. was Not Covered With Lids. A very unpleasant experience ! This place Needs to Be Shut Down Immediately! Be careful if you're ordering From Gino's East Pizza Mag Mile Location ~ Chicago. CROSS CONTAMINATION at its Best. Never order your pizza if you're Visiting For A Comedy Show: You will differently GET Sick!!!! I l give this Service a 0 review! . Be careful Patrons of how your food being handled in there Elevator!!!!
We had to try some deep dish pizza when we were in Chicago
We had to try some deep dish pizza when we were in Chicago and we are so glad we stopped here. On a Tuesday night there were a few parties waiting but we were able to get seated within 10 minutes. Our waiter was kind and informed us that the deep dish pizzas are made to order so it would take 45 minutes to make. We decided to order the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer to hold us over and the spinach margherita deep dish pizza. The cheese pull on the mozzarella sticks was beautiful. It was so cheesy and the sauce on the side added to it well. The pizza was heavenly. The spinach added well to the pizza and the sauce tasted so fresh. We were told that two slices was a full meal but even one with the mozzarella sticks filled us up. As we were leaving, our waiter brought us some pens so we could sign the wall. Many people already had but if you go, make sure you find a tiny bit of empty space so you can too. Next time we're in Chicago, we will be returning!
this place waisted 15 minutes of my vacation time.
.. Came in and asked for a table for 2 was seated and they made us wait 12 whole minutes before bringing water or even saying hi to our table BUT a bunch of cops walked in and they immediately served them even had their orders down!!!!! all while looking right at out table that had no water or no anything, no services being offered. Definitely will NOT recommend coming to this place, we got up and left the place and found an 100x better spot called Giordano's a few walks away, please go here for great service and amazing chitown style pizza!
Not a fan of the deep dish Chicago pizza but this was
Not a fan of the deep dish Chicago pizza but this was inedible - this was NOT cooked; sauce was burnt, cheese was cheese but this pie was mushy and absolutely awful!!!!! Don't order / eat their deep dish pizza here - honestly the worst food I have had in a restaurant for centuries!
I ordered delivery and they waited an hour after I ordered
I ordered delivery and they waited an hour after I ordered (when the food was supposed to arrive) to tell me that they don't deliver to my address. They also didn't give me a refund on my order. Overall very disappointed and would like my money back.

We ordered their build your own vegan deep dish pizza at this place for take out and it was delicious! We got mushrooms and jalapeños and vegan cheese. It's a great spot to get a vegan deep dish
When in Chicago, you have to have the Chicago style deep
When in Chicago, you have to have the Chicago style deep dish pizza (at least I do, otherwise it's not a trip to the Windy city). Now there are die hard fans of which is the best Chicago style deep dish and where to go, but my favorite is Gino's (granted I have not been to Pequod's, made famous by the show "The Bear"). This trip was not different. We stopped by the downtown location around mid afternoon for a late lunch. It was easy to get a table for our big group since most of the lunch rush had dissipated. Got our water and drinks right away and ordered our pizzas. This is the original location and its clean with a divey vibe to it. Writing on the walls from so many visitors. The kids wished they had a sharpie to add their names to the thousands already there. We ordered a couple of their beers and some pizzas. A pepperoni deep dish, a Gino's supreme deep dish, a make your own with hamburger and onions and jalapenos and a large cheese for the kiddos. The beers were tasty and the pizzas came out piping hot. Everything was delicious and that buttery crust on the deep dish is just divine. Gino's does not disappoint and it will continue to be on my list every time I am in the city. For me, this is the Chicago deep dish.
A Chicago regular stop
A must Chicago stop. Great deep dish, atmosphere and service. Always look forward to grabbing food here when I’m town. Always great to sit in.
Over rated
Over rated food - service was good though. Pizza was poor to bad - it is definitely a place that is living on the hype. Must say though that the servers were very good.
Great food and excellent service! An absolute must!
We walked in not having a reservation and we were seated immediately. Julio P was our server and he was absolutely amazing! He was so attentive and even though the dining room was full he made us feel like we were his only table! Food was amazing we will definitely be back!
We came in on a weeknight for a group dinner and the place
We came in on a weeknight for a group dinner and the place seemed empty. Our group only took the upstairs, but it seemed like we were the only people there. The staff was very nice and accommodating for our large group. We had an offer of raw veggies with hummus, spinach dip with pita, various kinds of deep dish pizza, and various kinds of thin crust pizza. The appetizers were delicious and tasted very fresh. The deep dish pizza is probably not the best Chicago style deep dish pizza. The sauce was too sweet and there's nothing special about the crust. Overall, it's a nice touristy spot, but the pizza is mid.
It's been 21 years since coming to Chicago for my honeymoon
It's been 21 years since coming to Chicago for my honeymoon and it was nice to come back. We got a hotel next to our favorite pizza joint. It still has the same nostalgic feel, excellent pizza and good service all these years later. I loved the spinach Margherita deep dish. Definitely worth coming back to. And Jesse did great with my daughter who has autism and has a quirky sense of humor
I ordered two thin crust medium Supreme crumble pizzas on
I ordered two thin crust medium Supreme crumble pizzas on Monday, February 26, 2024. The pizza was the worst pizza I have eaten in my life. One of the pizza's was for my sister. I called her the next day and she felt the same way. There was no tomato sauce. They had a small amount of tomato sauce around the edges and non in the center of the pizza. The sausage had so much garlic you could not eat it. We order the thin crust which was hard like a cardboard. There was a small amount of cheese. I will never go back to Gino's East.
When our craving for a classic Chicago-style deep dish
When our craving for a classic Chicago-style deep dish pizza struck, we turned to Gino's East for our delivery fix. We opted for the 9" Deep Dish Pepperoni Pizza, with the added indulgence of fresh mozzarella on top. Overall, the pizza was undeniably delicious, and the extra mozzarella added a delightful richness to each bite. The crust was thick and flaky, providing a sturdy foundation for the generous layers of toppings. The combination of gooey cheese, zesty tomato sauce, and savory pepperoni created a flavor explosion that satisfied our pizza cravings. Gino's East certainly knows how to craft a deep dish pie that delivers on taste. However, our excitement was dampened when we realized that the fresh basil we had ordered as an additional topping was missing from our pizza. Despite having paid for it, the absence of this key ingredient was disappointing. It's unfortunate when an order is not fulfilled as expected, especially when it's an ingredient that can significantly enhance the overall flavor profile. Another aspect that left us less than thrilled was the delivery experience. Instead of bringing the pizza directly to our room, the delivery driver left it in the lobby. While this may not be a concern for everyone, it could be problematic for individuals who are more conscious about germs and cleanliness. It's worth noting that this may be an area of improvement for Gino's East to ensure a more seamless and satisfactory delivery experience for their customers. Despite these drawbacks, we still believe that the pizza from Gino's East was good enough to warrant another order in the future. The combination of flavors and the quality of the ingredients used in their deep dish pizza are undeniable strengths. The crust, cheese, and pepperoni all came together harmoniously, resulting in a satisfying and indulgent meal. If Gino's East can address the issues with order accuracy and enhance the delivery experience, they have the potential to provide an even more exceptional dining experience. For those seeking a deep dish pizza fix in Chicago, Gino's East is a worthy contender, with their flavorful pies that capture the essence of the city's iconic pizza tradition.
Waited in line like a lemming for Garbage service.
Garbage food. Under cooked Brussels sprouts Sent back and came out under cooked both times. Communication issues required the sending back of multiple dishes without any comment or concerns from the server or manager. Over cooked pizza, the crust of which was like thick cardboard. Server and management couldn't care less about our experience and unfortunately we won't be back after coming here several times over the last decade.. Restaurant was uncomfortably hot. The degredarion of food quality and service seems common to restaurants who have had success in the past but forget what got them there! This would be a classic example of success planting the seeds of its own destruction. The have lost their way and may never find their way back! Either way we won't be coming back to find out!!
Gino's East near Drake Hotel area solid old school Chicago
Gino's East near Drake Hotel area solid old school Chicago Pizzeria!! Known for the Deep Dish Pizza you cannot go wrong here amazing quick service. The staff here are friendly and helpful with ordering the Deep Fish takes about 30 minutes to make! We went with the garlic bread sticks to start off and the marinara sauce is fantastic!! Then the Deep Dish Pizza arrived btw half Canadian Bacon and half Pepperoni, OMG so awesome!! Great bar atmosphere here at Gino's East and plenty of TVs for sports!! Easy 5 Stars for this location!!
The spinach mozzarella sticks are a must.
The deep dish pizza is great but the crust is a show stopper. A mist visit.
Tried this place to change it up from our usual pizza place
Tried this place to change it up from our usual pizza place and it did not disappoint! The mozzarella sticks were the best part- you could tell they were homemade! The breading was perfectly seasoned and it had the best cheese pull! The pizza was delicious as well. The cheese was gooey and crusty was soft and crunchy! The sauce was tangy which is not my fav but my family loved. Even the breadsticks that came with it were awesome- soft and garlicky! Love it!
Pizza was mid.
The crust was made of cornmeal, it seemed, which gave it an odd taste. The sauce was soupy, which is noticeable in the photo; will not be returning.
Hands down the best deep dish pizza in Chicago! I'm only
Hands down the best deep dish pizza in Chicago! I'm only giving five stars for the pizza because it is so good. The service is meh and so is the atmosphere. I've eaten here a few times abut keep coming back for the pizza.
You won't be sorry!!
Best deep dish pizza around.. we always stop here after trying several competitors. The cheese pull is out of this world, but the taste..... There is nothing like it. Don't eat any other deep dish pizza. Gino's East is the best.
Great deep dish
Great first experience of deep dish pizza! Food was so tasty!! And filling! Only got through 1.5 slices! Definitely will be back!
Stop here!
Coming to Chicago? This pizzeria has been added to our must-stop list. We visited for a late-lunch. The deep-dish pizza, great service, and comfortable atmosphere make this place a hit!
Great pizza!
I came to Chicago looking for a great deepdish and wasn't disappointed. Couldn't try them all but Gino's East was one of my top favorite. Great staff and my deepdish was perfect.
Pizza
A Chicago institution. To try the deep fish pizzas are nothing incredible but it's a change from European pizzas.
Every Pizza Lover Needs to Eat Here
I ate here many years ago for the first time and keep going back with each visit to Chicago! I ordered gluten free thin crust pizza here Friday of this past week - very good! Pizza is the best here! I really like that the sauce is not loaded with onions and strong tomatoes (as are other pizzas). The pepperoni was really delicious as well. The service, as always, was the best. I ate at the bar. The décor is something that I always thought was neat! I will return for pizza in the future!
Great deepdish pizza
Excellent atmosphere and amazing vibe. The deep dish pizza is positively delectable, especially the pizza crust is unique corn-made delicacy. Our customer service agent, Steve was great and very helpfule during placing order.
Don't Believe The Hype - This Is Poor Deep Dish Pizza
This was a huge disappointment. I had seen this place on the TV (Man Vs Food) several years ago and thought that it MUST be worth the trip. As Public Enemy said: "Don't Believe The Hype". Although it was an early dinner (5pm) I was told there was a 45-minute wait. "Not a problem I thought - it's my first night and I'm relaxing". When the food actually arrived, I was SO disappointed. It looked like it had been thrown together, the crust was soggy and the whole thing was just a mess. It didn't even taste nice. I ended up taking it to go, and gave it to a homeless lady. Hopefully it made her day, because it didn't make mine. Yes the place is funky and you can sign the wall if you want (you have to ask the staff for a pen, and the signing will not be easy because the marker they give you is enormous). If you want proper Deep Dish Pizza, there are better places to go. This is very poor.
Very nice family-friendly restaurant
Very nice family-friendly restaurant. We tried the famous Chicago deep pizza and we loved it. This was a nice location with easy to find a parking spot for our car. The food was delicious and very well made. The servers were very nice and professional. We will be back soon.

Good question. Currently the bidder will have to include the prepaid dinner price plus bid to secure the reservation. AT is currently working on an upcoming release where the prepaid amount and the bid amount are two separate transactions. Happy Bidding!
