This was my first experience at the Grand Concourse.
The atmosphere was amazing. Loved the whole setting. We thankfully got seated in the room that has a view of the Pittsburgh skyline. It was romantic. Our server was attentive despite the fact that Duquesne graduation was the same day (we had no idea when making the reservation) so the restaurant was extremely busy. Our drinks were great. I had the bourbon blood orange cocktail, my girlfriend had the mojito. The Charley's chowder was excellent. Not sure what all was in it but I would get it again. For dinner, I had the dynamite mahi mahi. I liked it a lot, the flavor was great. I was disappointed in the serving size of the plate a bit. You only get 3 pieces of vegetables. My girlfriend had the coconut shrimp and it was honestly the best coconut shrimp I've ever had. I'm not typically a fan of coconut shrimp so that's saying a lot. Finally, we finished the night off with dessert. I had the banana foster crème brûlée which was delicious. My girlfriend had a lava cake that was also delicious. We would 100% go back and would recommend checking it out if you haven't before. It was a wonderful choice for our anniversary dinner!

Andrea was our server, that could have been a bit more attentive. The food was good. It was Mother's Day - we got in at 3:30pm, thirty minutes after the change over. I wish I would have had photos of the buffett. VERY disappointed! The buffets were a mess, the pans where not being refreshed, guests fished their own plates out of the dish holder (instead of on the table). Literally every other pan was near empty. Carving - the Prime Rib sat there dry. It should have been in a hot box, coming out juicy. It tasted delicious, I did not use the au jus because I did not want it all over my plate, the creamy horseradish was next to EMPTY. It was less than cooked medium. I can take that but not many appreciate it. Again, it was drier than it should have been. Salad bar was - sad. There were barely any lemons on the ice, the Martha Vineyard Salads were swimming in dressing. Very sad. Dessert table was a mess, I watched someone switch out the chocolate cake, where he just put the tray on top of another sitting. The sticky buns where on toss away tin trays. Not what I would expect at the Grand Concourse. The remainder of the desserts in the Gandy Dancer were just destroyed, I am sure by the guests. I might also add it was a complete guessing game on what each item was! No labels. Very disappointed in spending $232 plus a 20% tip. I worked at a Country Club and I view most well respected restaurants on a lovely holiday would have been on the top of their game! Bonus: donuts are still delicious. MIGHT give one more try for a brunch on a non-holiday. My takeaway is: If you are used to the breakfast brunch at Eat n' Park, you will be impressed. But I say that and my EP has a flawless and clean buffet

We came for lunch on Saturday, and loved it! The building is just breathtaking. We were seated with a view of downtown. I would love to sit inside next time to admire the architecture. I got the seafood roll, which had shrimp, crab and lobster on it. It was quite yummy! I would get it again. I also tried the Peach Palmer mocktail. It was a bit underwhelming, and tasted like a Snapple. Overall we had a great experience. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt. The prices were very reasonable for lunch. We ended up paying about $25 per person. I would love to come back and try some of their other items! Making a reservation ahead of time is a must.

The Sunday brunch is great for a hungry crew! There's something for everyone - freshly made donuts, chocolate fountain, omelette station, pasta station, fresh carved ham/prime rib, shrimp cocktail, salads, even pierogis! Definitely a splurge for brunch but worth it for special occasions. I went in a group of 9 with one using a walker. The restaurant entrance and seating was accessible. I highly recommend reservations. It was also Pitt graduation weekend, so I was pleasantly surprised that the lines weren't long for the buffet.
Be the first to ReplySunday brunch has a wide selection.
Who'd expect jambalaya? Carving station, made to order omelettes, seafood, pasta station, even a chocolate fountain. I enjoyed scrambled eggs with peppers, ham, link sausage, green beans with carrots and the jambalaya and all were tasty. A very attentive waiter refilled drinks often. Atmosphere is outstanding. Used to be a train station so it's like stepping back in time when travel was enjoyable. We were seated next to a window with a view of the river and downtown. Will definitely return.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love the grand concourse and have been several times. The atmosphere is amazing. I am a big fan of architecture it's beautiful. The food is also always great! I honestly did not think we could love the grand concourse anymore than we already do but our server Neil elevated our whole experience. He was so personable and helpful. He gave great service and went above and beyond. He even took pictures of us on the grand stair case. Thank you Neil for a magical experience.

Ended up at Grand Concourse for dinner. I had the Sirloin Steak. The steak was full of gristle and muscle. Shared my displeasure with the meal and was dismissed. Nothing was done about the meal. We will never return to this restaurant.

My daughter reserved our 10 family member group for the Easter Brunch. We were seated with in 15 minutes, we had a 3:15 reservation. Our wait staff was quick to take our drink orders. Food was hot and fresh and delicious. A great variety of main courses and sides. Many fish options which our family loved. Prime Rib, Fish, Salmon, Chicken. Potatoes, Rice, Several Salads, Mac and Cheese. The desserts were amazing. We will definitely return to this establishment. Parking was easy as well. Street parking free on Sundays.

Decided to take the family out this year for the Easter buffet, big mistake! Had reservations for 5:15 got seated at 6:00 they told us they were behind 20min to a half hour. Finally get to buffet and there's a line of at least 30 people by the time we got through and back to our table our food was cold. Never did get to the carving table. Big disappointment for such a $$$$ restaurant 300.00 for subpar dining. Never again.... best part was the valets great service!

Went foR Easter brunch got seated a half hour late,no big deal.Seafood lasagna and salmon was awesome. Only had one person carving four items so the line was always long. Worst part I couldn't get a price of prim rib under medium well.. Was seated by the carving station so I kept trying .Went through6prime rib while I was There, all medium well to well. Service wasn't bad, but expected better from there..

I went to the grand concourse for an Easter brunch, and quite enjoyed it. They had a fast buffet with many options to choose from. There are many rooms, and it is very pretty, although it was impossible for me to find the bathroom. Everybody there was nice, but our waiter rarely checked on the table, even when we called her over. Over all will go back
Be the first to ReplyThe service was absolutely wonderful.
Alyssa and Tiffany explained the menu items (the Today's Catch section of the menu is a bit confusing), and they made the meal an absolutely perfect occasion. The food was good, but not great. I had Gulf snapper, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. It was tasty, but I wish it had been hotter.
