As someone who has been to India before, Gymkhana was some of the best Indian food that I ever had. I recommend making reservation ahead of time and going in for the lunch tasting menu. I went on a Friday and the restaurant was fully booked. Keep in
Interesting Take on Indian Food
The idea of Indian fine dining is a bit novel, but Gymkhana does a fairly good job of executing the concept. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Tandoori Chicken to go with our bread basket (variety of naan) and a prawn appetizer. The tastes were cer
Lived up to the hype
I live quite close to the restaurant but have never been before as I try to avoid "the hype" restaurants. But as we had family stay who wanted to try we booked online. Minimum spend is very very high but as it includes alcohol this was not
Delicious without a 2* experience
Visited with friends. I didn’t arrange the booking but there was some disquiet about how everything must be done online and it was impossible to speak with a person to discuss the reservation. On arrival the restaurant decor is smart and appealing
Gymkhana is a definitely must try when visiting London.
It was my first time going to a two Michelin star restaurant. I was able to secure a Friday night reservation and I had a wonderful experience. My group started off with the kid goat methi keema, which was my favorite dish. It was a meat version of p
A mix bag....
I booked Gymkhana for a table of five on 16/11, making the reservation at 6am on the day bookings opened. We were required to pay £150 per person upfront. The minimum spend had been £100 the week before, but it had increased in the lead-up to Chris
Perfectly elevated dining experience
From the moment we arrived until we left, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The staff were warm, welcoming, and highly knowledgeable, guiding us expertly through the dining experience, the menu, and the wines. We dined downstairs, whic
Try the KEEMA NAAN & TANDOORI CHOPS
My friend set a timer a few months ago to make sure she reserved our dinner during our vacation to London. There was a 100gbp per person for the Rez I believe which goes towards your meal. We were so lucky to be visiting during Diwali, we were gree
Superb Indian Food
If you love Indian food and chit chat about its history going all the way to Turkic Mughals, this is the best place. Food is great and service is even better...10 out of 10. Only thing is that it is too noisy as all surfaces are hard and reflect soun

We were lucky enough to secure a lunch reservation and decided to do their lunch menu. It was definitely a feast since we were able to try different items so I would definitely arrive hungry. If you're dining with someone, definitely take advant
A Perfect Evening at Gymkhana 💛
Had an amazing dining experience at Gymkhana! We tried the tasting menu and absolutely loved every flavour — each dish was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The rice pudding dessert was a delightful finish, creamy and full of flavour. T
Amazing meal, wonderful staff.
Try whatever the staff recommends- you won't be disappointed Aloo Chaat, Lamb methi to name two new favorites!
Outstanding food
We were very excited to book Gymkhana for a Sunday lunch with two friends who were leaving London and this did not disappoint! One member of the party was vegetarian which was well catered for and the available dishes were explained to him. There wer
Disappointing!
The food was passable but nothing to shout about considering it has 2 Michelin stars. Lack of any ambiance. No effort made to cater for vegans, let alone any effort to promote Diwali. What you got with the staggering bill + 15% service charge was a
Hugely disappointing
Oh dear! Having had to go through hoops to book months in advance we expected an amazing celebration experience. It didn’t happen. At the outset of the booking the restaurant was made aware of allergies of one guest. On arrival we were told that sh

Gymkhana is one of those rare places that's as good as everyone says. This two-Michelin-star spot was the most anticipated dinner of my entire trip. We started with the gol guppas which are crispy shells filled with tangy, spicy water. Basicall
A good experience overall
The restaurant was excellent, however was reasonably expensive. The quality of the food was good, not great. You are better off eating upstairs in the non formal part of the restaurant which would be better value and appears to be more lively.
Such a disappointment.
So starting with food- it was good and authentic but typical enough that we could have gotten it at just about any other good Indian restaurant. I'm Indian so I've had plenty of Indian restaurants with better and worse food than gymkhana. B
Far from Michelin standard. Avoid and go elsewhere.
Disappointing experience, far from Michelin standard. We were three friends visiting Gymkhana to celebrate very big milestones in our careers and personal lives. We were excited to finally try this two Michelin star restaurant, but it turned out to
Michelin star Indian cuisine. Magnifique. Mayfair finest.
After being one of the original patrons at their opening, I had the pleasure of being invited bs k to see how their journey has flourished and hands down this place is magnifique! From your arrival you are greeted traditionally and courteously with

Glad I was able to make a reservation while visiting London! One of the best Indian food I've had so far! Everything we order was fresh , aromatic and flavorful not overly heavy/oily! Services was attentive but a little slow for my vibe! I I tho
Exceptional Fine Dining, Themed Brilliance, and the Best Butter Chicken of My Life (But is it a Two Star?)
5/5 Stars - Highly Recommend My partner and I recently dined at Gymkhana, and I can confidently say this was the best Indian food I have ever had. From the moment we walked in, the experience was wonderful, setting a new benchmark for fine dining.
Overhyped and overpriced
Hugely overhyped. Food was “mid” at best. Slow cooked lamb was gristly and did not fall off the bone at all. Slow service. Very expensive. Far better Indian restaurants out there.
Wow wow wow 10/10
Wow what a meal!! After months of trying to get a table we finally got there and wow was it worth the wait! The most welcoming, amazing staff, fast service and unbelievable food! Highly highly recommended to anyone considering visiting. We’ll be ba
Have no idea whether the food was good or not.
My wife got Covid the day before and we were not going to go to the restaurant with her in that condition. Gymkhana, totally unsympathetic, still chose to charge the $50 per person cancellation fee as it was not outside the 72 hour window. Not good b
Food great. Service ok. Do you want lamb chops?
Gymkhana delivers excellent food with bold, refined flavours, but the service felt oddly rushed. Staff were attentive, yet it became almost comical how often we were urged to order the lamb chops – even the doorman mentioned them. They’re clearly
Brilliant
From the moment we were greeted by the smiley Joanna, to when we left and all the serving team said goodbye, I can’t really fault this place. We had the lunch set menu, which we thought at this type of restaurant was good value. The menu was grea
High expectations which almost delivered
So the food is great, it’s really is. Delicious and everything you would want it to be. We were going for the tasting menu but advised it is a lot of food so opted for Al la carte which is the right call. So the service is what let it down for us.
Gymkhana was one of my favorite meals of our London trip!
Gymkhana was one of my favorite meals of our London trip! We did the a la carte menu and everything we tried was amazing. The Butter Chicken was hands-down my favorite--so rich and flavorful. The Amritsari Lobster, Shrimp and Queenies were incredible
Best Indian food I've ever had!! Laidback and nice ambiance.
Service was also excellent.
Good place some great food but not everything on the menu is up to the super star rating. I’ve had better Indian food.
The environment, ambiance, service and sommelier were super. The food was up and down. Starters were lovely, real depth of flavour and the masala margarita a fantastic cocktail offered. However, the mains were just middle of the road nothing outst
Reservation was worth the wait.
Food was delightful. So many favorites but if I had to choose, it would be the butter chicken, paneer and the lamb - mouth watering! We had the private room and while beautiful and intimate, I would have preferred the energy of the main dining room.
Adore the khana but now I need to hit the gym!
Indian food (khana) doesn't get much better than this. Of course even before you enter the hallowed doors of this two-star Michelin restaurant there is a MASSIVE hurdle to jump - which is getting a booking. You may have to book two months in adv
Underwhelmed- doesn’t deserve 2* Michelin)
We ordered a variety of dishes, including: Chicken Samosas – Absolutely delicious, the best I’ve had. Prawns – Tender and tasty, though slightly too spicy for my liking. Aloo Chaat – Not for me, found the taste very unusual. Panipuri –
Not worthy of Michelin status. Taster menu a disaster
We booked a table at gymkhana to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had been looking forward to it for months. However we were left very disappointed. We each ordered off the taster menu. I opted for the veggie option and my husband the normal on
Christmas Gift
This food is just exceptional. The blend of spice is exquisite. There really is too many positives to start listing them. If you like Indian cuisine then this is the place to go. The service is exceptional and the staff are wonderful. My son and part
Underwhelming and memorable for the wrong reasons
We were expecting a real wow experience but sadly it was very disappointing. It was quite dark which made it difficult to read menus and see food well. The lamb chop which was supposed to be amazing was soo disappointing. It was over cooked and dry
Poor Service, Allergens and Integrity.
I booked the private dinning room (42 Albemarle) for my wife's birthday and a family celebration (15 people) on 28 August. I agreed a menu and time table for service, spelt out allergies (cashews and pistachios - my daughter carries an epi pen
The undisputed best Indian in the city. Great staff, delicious meal.
Third visit in 16 months. It’s that good. The rating system is not fit for purpose where this restaurant is concerned. It gets a legit 6 every time! Staff were central to the whole experience, the breathtaking interior provides the perfect environm
High quality Indian food
As 1 of the very few Indian restaurants in the world to hold 2 Michelin stars, we were really excited yo come here. The food was great, especially the oak chops, although they were slightly too salty. The muntjac biriyani was a little disappointing.
Still the best curry in London
If you want to make someone jealous, then say these three words: “I’m visiting Gymkhana”. Whenever I told people I had a reservation at the restaurant, I got exactly the same response: “Take me”. In London, Gymkhana is situated in the soph
You’ll think you know Indian food, and then you’ll try Gymkhana
Gymkhana, a sleek Indian spot in Mayfair, is the kind of place that will surprise you with every single dish. In London, it’s an institution. There’s no way you’ll be able to pick a favourite until you’ve tried absolutely everything here. Thi
Worth every penny
By far the absolute best Indian restaurant in London trumping the over hyped others. Fantastic menu, friendly staff and pristine flavours coupled with great, attentive service. This has not changed in years. From the moment we walked in, Gymkhana de

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Gymkhana London at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Gymkhana London page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $5.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $10.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* DazzlingStretch76, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $10 bid.
* DazzlingStretch76 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to DazzlingStretch76 for any questions Peter may have as DazzlingStretch76 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* DazzlingStretch76 now uses their connections at Gymkhana London to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If DazzlingStretch76 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, DazzlingStretch76 receives the $10 reward which is credited to DazzlingStretch76's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Gymkhana London!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
