Enjoyable experience.
Small place so got to interact with the sushi chef. He served 4 of us and it was really pleasant seeing how each course was prepared and conversing with chef Peter as well. The amount of detail that goes into each piece is cool & the final prod

I have been to this place a few times now, and it continues to be my favorite sushi spot for a celebration, or a date. It's definitely not the most economical place for a meal, but in my opinion, the money and time spent here is worth it. 1.)
The food was amazing, and the service was impeccable.
We started taking notes on our menu for what we enjoyed, and quickly gave up because everything was getting 5 stars.

Worth the money in every way! The food and service and impeccable. The Sea Bream is always , but the Uni bowl at the end is the cherry on top. 11/10 best sushi in SD.

I want to hear tonight for a date night and it was awesome! It's located in an unassuming strip mall and pretty nondescript exterior. But when you get inside it's clearly modern and luxurious. The service was impeccable. They passed my wa

I've been to a Michelin star omakase before but this outperformed it by far. I'm telling you know this omakase WILL get a star. The staff is outstanding, the chefs are amazing and talkative. We sat with head chef STEVEN and he was amazing,
Our whole party took up all 13 seats.
We had 3 chefs taking care of us and two servers. The fish was all cut before our meal truly started making the process way smoother. The amount of food was perfect, no one was overly full. The fish is sourced from around the world and the chefs will
Chef Sam, more like Dr.
Sam, is an absolute master at his craft. This isn't just dinner, it's a tasteful experience. Each piece of sushi is crafted with surgical precision and full of flavor. The omakase flow is well-composed symphony, each bite more breathtaking

For my aunts birthday, I treated her to an omakase at the first restaurant to offer it in San Diego. The price is $135 per person so it is pricey but you get 18 courses (one piece nigiri each) and it's all by reservation. You could tell it was all co
This omakase only.
Be prepared to spend $150+pp Very surprising and not apparent on the website.
This is by far the best omakase I have had.
(Have had Nobu, Soichi, and Ichifuji here in SD) First off, the restaurant is small but you never feel crowded. It is a cute intimate setting. We were lucky enough to have Marcus as our sushi chef. We really enjoyed talking with him as he worked.
If I could afford it, I would eat here once a week.
Some of the most delicious sushi I've ever had. Chef Steven was awesome, it was wonderful to watch him prepare each piece of nigiri for us. With only 14 seats it has a very personal atmosphere. If you love sushi, save up and take your favorite sushi

Best sushi I have ever had including in Seattle, New York, and Japan. Terrific omakase. Fabulous service. Five stars!
Ordinary But Expensive
An interesting concept but much too expensive for 18 dinky pieces of ordinary sushi And if as is customary one would like to have sake with the sushi, the prices are very steep No complimentary extras are offered
Hidden fish is a hidden gem in San Diego.
It's ironic that this is one of cheaper omakase. It is 18 courses for only $135. Def a place to go to and the chefs were great. Service was on point especially because each 90 minute session only has 8 seats.

A standout on Convoy St.
Young sushi chefs who've crafted a remarkably unique 18-piece omakase with additional offerings that take sushi to next-level decadence. I mean toro tartar with black truffle, and uni? And caviar!?! It may not make sense to some - but I think the ide

It's a 90 min omakase for $135 which is pricey for what you get (~$6 piece). The fish piece sizes are ok - neither skimpy nor generous. If you have a good appetite, you will leave hungry (unless you buy more food following the omakase) - I even thoug

The intimate atmosphere, attentive servers, and friendly chefs are truly the bright stars here as the quality of fish was not the most exemplary or memorable. Because each course is mostly nigiri, this experience would be best if you are looking for
It was overall a pleasant experience.
This was not our first Omakase and having it in Tokyo, NYC, and Honolulu it doesn't compare but for San Diego, I guess it works. They have dividers between parties so the space is small. Wait staff is basically on top of you. The fish is fresh but cu

5 stars 0.5 for supporting small business. The sushi is great but not like "wow" which is why I am knocking off a star. I think if this is your first omakase you will definitely love it. For regular omakase eaters this might be a bit a let

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Hidden Fish San Diego at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Hidden Fish San Diego page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FluffyStar64, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* FluffyStar64 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FluffyStar64 for any questions Peter may have as FluffyStar64 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Hidden Fish San Diego to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FluffyStar64 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FluffyStar64's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Hidden Fish San Diego!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
