Hotel Nikko San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Fabulous hotel in Central location
We went to several hotels over three weeks during our trip to the West Coast and this was my favourite room by far and we did stay in really lovely hotels! The room was comfortable, clean, cosy and had every mod con ie USB ports by the bed and had the most fantastic toilet I’ve ever seen in my life when you walked into the bathroom the toilet started cleaning itself before you even sat down and had a heated seat and even a remote control too 🤪 the hotel was in a superb central location, staff were friendly and helpful. Not that we had any reason to speak to them very much and I’m delighted that we picked this hotel.
Conference attendance
Wonderful hotel. Rooms were very comfortable. Shower and toilet were a little confusing (shower fixture and electric toilet). But enjoyed my stay. Lots of places to eat and a block away from the cable car and other transportation. Hotel is in an overall good location but we were cautioned about certain streets. But I felt safe the whole time.
A quiet serene stay on the 20th floor in a corner space.
Our stay starts at arrival with a warm welcome by an attentive doorman and bellman. The bellman hands you a card to pass on to the desk reception and directs you to an escalator up to reception. At reception you are efficiently identified and charged the customary fees up front and within seconds you are on your way to your room and your bags are delivered minutes later. The space was clean, quiet, comfortable with a Zen like experience intended to evoke calmness to your senses. Did I mention clean? There are no odd odors. You have a sitting area, comfortable bed, dual environmental controls, separate shower and tub in the bath, and reusable water bottles with access to filtered water next to the floor's ice machine. There is one annoyance. The bidet "recycles" about 30 seconds after use. In a space you could hear a pin drop it is curious to hear it for the 1st time after returning to bed. Not a biggie. Remember there are no background city noises. Room service. The hallmark of only the finest hotels. An excellent breakfast delivered within the minutes you have requested it is the ultimate start of your day. White linen wrapped toast anyone? On leaving, ask the desk for a bag pickup and the bill preparation and there are no surprises if you pay attention with what you have charged the room on checkout. Every request I made was answered and ended with "Is there anything else you require?" You can spend less and far more for accommodations but not certain it can get any better.
Great hotel!
This was a great hotel. I had never been to the area and was a little overwhelmed. Every front desk employee helped me in some way that made our trip a success (from sushi recommendations to navigating the public transportation system). I just wish the location was a little closer to fisherman’s wharf. It’s not walking distance.
Outstanding stay & outstanding service!!!
Wonderful stay on Imperial floor. Luis in Imperial Lounge at breakfast provided extraordinary service and made each guest feel like family. Room was quiet with glorious view. Beautiful design including a magnificent Japanese type design bathroom with both fabulous shower and a separate tub. Housekeeping was equally top notch as well as concierge. Thank you for a restful stay. Also we liking Durance to SFMOMA and to a range of restaurants. A top notch stay. Can’t wait to return!!
Great Staff
Everyone was absolutely wonderful and the hotel is truly beautiful. Ahmed and Michael at the front desk were very delightful and accommodating. I cannot wait until my next visit to San Francisco. I will definitely stay with Hotel Nikko next time I'm visiting.
Absolutely wonderful.
Of the price is right, I will always stay at this hotel. Outside area is "meh" due to the current situation of SF (it's the same everywhere). But inside, is beautiful. The decor is amazing along with customer service. Both times I've stayed here the service went above and beyond.
Good price for excellent stay
Perfect located hotel for visiting SFO, a lot to do in walk distance, and all tram/subway/bus in 5 minutes to catch. Very comfortable beds ! All very clean and quite. Helpfull poeple at the reception desk
Value for money
Overall experience is good. There is staff standby at the main door of the hotel, could be to avoid homeless. Quite secure. Convenient location allow us to travel nearby attraction like Pier 39 and China Town and etc.
Top notch
Amazing customer service - everyone is super nice. Comfortable beds and pillows. Great amenities - the exercise room has really good equipment and variety. The cucumber and lemon water along with cold towels is a nice touch.

We came to SF for a birthday party celebration and booked
We came to SF for a birthday party celebration and booked through booking.com and had a wonderful stay overall. They were very helpful with check in and were able to help us with a booking confusion that was fixed within a few minutes. Valet was $65 and they had the sign clearly posted for pricing upon entering the hotel. Upon entering our room it was noticeably clean and even the window sill was properly dusted as well. There were outlets by both sides of the bed which was nice since we didn't have to scramble around the room trying to find places to charge our phones. The bed was nicely made with fresh linens and was fairly comfortable as well. We also noticed on the tray that they had a set breakfast menu that had a few options such as the breakfast plate (most customizable option), cereal, hot coffee, drinks, etc. I would highly recommend the breakfast since the menu itself is to be hung on the door by 1am and they give you time options for breakfast to be served so it was well worth it waking up to hot breakfast served directly to your room. The breakfast itself was wonderfully tasty and well seasoned as well. The eggs were cooked perfectly to our preference and the toast basket was loaded to the brim for two people. If you also wanted different food options, there are plenty restaurants/food spots walking distance away from the hotel as well. Only thing I thought was weird was the housekeeping was trying to come in and clean at 9am even when we had our do not disturb button on. We only opened the door since we thought it was breakfast at our door already but they were really nice and apologetic about disturbing us so we didn't mind too much since we were already up. Overall, if you're looking for a great hotel for your stay in SF, I would highly recommend hotel nikko for your stay as I would be happy to come back anytime I'm spending the weekend in SF.
My experience with this hotel was something out of a punked
My experience with this hotel was something out of a punked episode. Checked in with my wife and small dog on a Saturday afternoon, the hotel claims to be pet friendly. We went out for some drinks, upon returning at 1 in the morning we are locked out of our room. Front desk says we are being "evicted" from the property because we didn't register our pet. What? They can't be serious, right? Nope, they were serious. I told them I could register the dog now and pay whatever fee, we just wanted to go to sleep and they literally brought security over and told us it was non negotiable. We couldn't believe it. We have stayed at hotels all over the world and have never been kicked out of a hotel let alone at 1am without warning. Absolutely crazy. The ironic part is their entire theme/mascot IS A DOG!! You can't make this up! So instead of charging us a fee (which we are happy to pay) they would rather escort us out of the premises with TWO security guards like we are a couple criminals and leave us on the streets of San Fransisco at 1 in the morning. Unbelievable. We went to the four seasons down the street and I kid you not they brought out a chew toy at check in and a dog bowl up to our room and welcomed us with open arms. Hotel Nikko, your management is laughable at best. You run a hospitality business with a DOG as a mascot then evict people at 1 in the morning because they have DOG. A 7 pound small terrier, mind you. Make it make sense.
We had a really lovely stay at the Hotel Nikko.
The room was luxurious with an incredible view, and there is a Japanese restaurant downstairs that was just terrific. It's very close to BART if you are coming in from the airport or don't want to Uber around town after you park. Whoever says San Francisco isn't a beautiful city isn't someone you should trust!

what a great hotel to stay at! we had originally booked a deluxe room but since we were Expedia gold members, the hotel updated us to an imperial suite. the imperial lounge itself was gorgeous, with nice seating and great food selections. the lobby was also very nicely decorated and we loved the nice dog touches throughout the hotel. the pool and hot tub were very clean and we enjoyed them for a few hours on our first night. the service and staff were impeccable with very quick room deliveries. the only downside is that the parking is extremely expensive which is normal for downtown San Francisco but unfortunately, we did have to park at another parking garage. overall, Hotel Nikko SF was a great book, would definitely recommend it to stay at!

The Motiwn Review and Brunch at Hotel Nikko in SF with the family is fantastic! You won't be let down by the amazing show. The mimosas are spot on! They also offer a full bar service if you're interested. The brunch included scrambled eggs, roasted baby red potatoes, crispy bacon, chicken apple sausage, Belgian waffles, assorted pastries, yogurt with fresh fruit, and granola. It's not extravagant, but definitely not ordinary. Valet parking is $45.

Best hotel I've been to in San Francisco this far! From this moment we pulled up to valet, costumer service was amazing. Although it's valet parking only, this the same price other hotel would charge for overnight parking. Restaurant and bar was fairly priced. Amazing food and beautiful ambiance! Room service was a bit pricey but it what is expected with room service. Dog friendly with an area where your dog can handle their business. Indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and spa room. Cleaning, warm and comfortable! Rooms are amazing and speak for themselves. I can't speak on all rooms but ours had an amazing view! Location, location, location! Walking distance from the shopping district and plenty of restaurants near by! Highly recommend and already planning to booked them next time for our annual trip to San Francisco.
Because of the friendly staff the hotel deserves an extra
Because of the friendly staff the hotel deserves an extra star. Upon check in at the front desk you are greeted and the guest service person makes you feel welcome. The rooms are clean but the one we had that was an upgrade was very small. You walk in and the bed is almost literally..right there with no room to move. The bathroom is spacious with a tub and a shower and probably could have been built smaller in favor of a larger room space. The hotel boosts a nice work out room with weights, yoga space, rowing machines, bikes, ellipticals, treadmills and the list goes on. The work out room also has chilled water filled with lemons and cucumber. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub. This area is quite popular at all hours of the day. If you do not mind oodles of kids then this is the place to hang out. So..the most interesting part of the hotel experience is the box that looks like a clock. Always check to see if alarm is set! This innocuous machine was previously set at 4am..and when you are half asleep you push all the random buttons. One of which is the 911 which we hit while trying to turn it off at 4 in the morning. And quickly following is a knock from security. Exhausting and not fun experience. Valet parking is expensive at almost $75/day. There's no self parking but at least you know your car is safe. The valet drivers are not the friendliest unless you tip them. The concierge guy is nice and friendly. San Francisco has changed and not the safest or nicest. I feel Niko is a nice oasis from the elements of the city.

What a wonderful hotel! From the moment I pulled into the valet area, I was met with some of the kindest and most professional employees - which continued with the lobby staff and all of the other staff members I came in contact with. Everyone was extremely helpful and made my stay incredibly pleasant. My only complaint was my stay wasn't longer. I can't wait to return!

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
